Video: Edwin Haighton & Jan Kees Dibbets Edit: Edwin Haighton
most insane kitesurfing I've ever seen
Sickest megaloop I ever see
Big ups bruddah!
thats some crazy big megaloops! You got big balls!
🔥
You guys start to need a pilot's license and a clearance from ATC for your jumps....absolutely fantastic.
Great video. I laughed when you asked ‘are there any other’ kiters.
Whats the Name from the Watch ?
amazing stuff, something to have in mind is that such storm clouds can have a far reaching effect in form of a microburst and then, well, lightnings too :D So it's better to play safe. It's also intreresting to see you picked up brand new stuff for such an adventure, I'd normally assume it's better not to take any new gear without testing prior :) But clearly it worked for you, congrats!
Amazing. Just be safe though. I crushed my left ankle and right heelbone two months ago. I will never be the same again. Isnt 36,2m high enough? 🙌🏽
That's pretty bad. Hopefully you'll recover for the most part. Was it a kitesurfing accident?
lol in China if we want to try to break the record in this weather, we at least wear a helmet. Westerners are more adventurous
Good man
Und ich denk mir am Anfang, wo du sowohl in den USA rum und dann um die Ecke Holland-Dänemark 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I really liked your video 🤙🏼 which watch do you use ?
in ac urate it was like 1 meter.
Really nice vlog man. Props for capturing all the action
What gear do you use? What’s that watch? Also what impact vest do you use ?
I used the Core XR Pro kite and a Carved Imperator 7 board. The Watch is a Garmin Fenix 6x Pro retrieving the jumps from the WOO 4.0 sensor on my board. The impact vest is I believe an ION vest, I bought it years ago but it's still working!
Wow thanks so much! The watch looks amazing and as does the kite. With the impact vest is it a kite specific one that allows for room for the harness? I wanted an impact vest that can do foiling and kiting .. not sure if that exists though
Great❤❤
Congrats Maarten and the whole crew..
Top. BTW. Are you participating in KOTA?
No not KOTA. I never really joined any big competition, but I’m playing with the idea of submitting an entry for next Megaloop Challenge.
@@maartenhaeger A competition is not easy and ask for a different mindset.
@@HuibNederhof indeed!
Pretty amazing to think that people have surfed waves as big as 26.2m high in contrast to the biggest kite surf jump being 36.2m high.
How exactly do you measure your height? Only with the Garmin Fenix? How it works? Thanks
It's measured with the WOO Sports 4.0 sensor on my board. The WOO records my jumps and sends it via Bluetooth to the WOO app on my Gamin Watch!
Your skill and your accomplishment put you in an elite class, congrat's! Gopro video sucked. No perspective of you, your kite, the height. It's great for you to relive the moment, enjoy!
I noticed that too, the GoPro doesn't do justice to the actual height. I'll see if I can change this for the next vlog to make the POV seem as realistic as possible!
Great video Keep trying What size board do you use ? And would you pick a smaller board when storm chasing or your regular size board ?
I always ride the same size (135 x 41). It's quite small for someone my size, so I don't need to go smaller during big storms.
@@maartenhaeger ok yes someone your size that’s a small board, hopefully see you out at one of the spots around cold Hawaii one day, keep trying for that record 🤙
Great video.
Yes bring it on 👍🤙
Welcome to Maarten airlines. Hope you enjoy your flight.💯
Nice work guys!!!
Maaan finallyyyyyyyyyyyy. What were you waiting for!! Loved the "no-bullshit" content. Let's do more on how you prep for such strong conditions 🤴
epic vlog, keep em up!
More vlogs like this! Good luck!!
Legendary Mate. Keep on pushing the envelope!
So impressive, keen for more content!!!!!
What Watch do you use? and is it connected to your WOO?
The Garmin Fenix 6x Pro. And yes, I get the readings from my WOO 4.0 sensor.
Sick video! Keep pushing it Maarten!🔥
As a confirmed windsurfer who's been taken out three times by kitesurfers who leap before they look, can't say I'm a big fan, but that aside, we'll done and fantastic achievement. You guys are crazy. Always looks impressive, unless they're about to land on you. 😂😂
Haha! We don't like landing on a 5-meter-long carbon pole either 🤣
Were some of those jumps done without looping the kite? A few of the shots looked like you just sent the kite (and then maybe helilooped to land). Amazing stuff either way!! Got me to subscribe!
I believe all of the jumps were done with at least one downloop. Sometimes you get into a situation where you're going to land "in-between" downloops, it those situations I sometimes opt to just send the kite left or right before/while landing, but that is always after I already pulled at least one downloop.
Lekker vloggie heur
Sick road trip bro. So close to the WR ! Definitely good to see a vlog series In future. Can I ask, what line lengths were you using ? Thanks
I always ride 22m lines. For me that's the sweet spot for boosting high but still having a good kite angle during megaloops.
First Video i‘ve Seen of you and already love it
Very interesting, I would love to see some capetown contect :))
Sounds like a plan!
Big ups brother!
Great vlog, gained a new subscriber here. It was awesome to see how much work went into winning WW, and the commitment to riding those insane conditions. We actually did the same thing down here in NZ (drove 8-9hours) for our Woo Worlds Sessions, and seeing this realised we probably should have made a much better effort to record more of the trip... we'll be ready next year if the conditions come up 😂
Great vlog, hoping for more!
awsome video bro
Those are some badass jumps man 🚀🚀🚀
sigue creando contenido crack!!!!✌✌✌✌🎦🎦
Man i struggle to hit 10 metres
It took me years of kiting until I reached 10 meters.... Keep pushing!
Congrats!!!!
Wat vet, dikke respect
