That too much work !! There is more simple and easy way to just dropped fishing bait or anything. Tight to drone 1ft 3mm rope with 2 oz weight and clothing pins ! That all you need

You must have built it wrong.
Shift the screw point closer to the dome nut. This applies more pressure when tightening the screw. As you can see in the video, we can tension it to even hold 2KG?
This is just a friction release right? You pull sharply on the line huh?
