    So how is it established that this isn't on private property? I can't seem to figure out how to ensure sites like this and other on Mindat aren't privately owned?

    • @AlexKaratzky
      @AlexKaratzky Месяц назад

      @@nickmeyer208 In this case, there's no gate or signs telling you not to go in so chances are you're fine to collect there. It can be tricky on Mindat, but sometimes there'll be comments or discussion on changes in land ownership. I'd recommend just spending a day visiting a bunch of sites in an area and checking them out on your own... you never really know until you get there.

    • @nickmeyer208
      @nickmeyer208 Месяц назад

      @@AlexKaratzkythat's kind of what I figured. I'd be a little less intimidated if trespassing meant a possible court date in my own country (USA) lol. Any other specific recommendations in the thunder bay area? We are going to one of the amethyst mines but want to do some more explorative digging too.

    • @AlexKaratzky
      @AlexKaratzky Месяц назад

      @@nickmeyer208 unfortunately this location has been mostly cleaned out and you'd have to do some serious digging... There's a nice chert rock cut on the way to McTavish I found on Mindat but other than that it's just the commercial amethyst mines I know of. Edit: Forgot to mention agate beach in Minnesota, lots of cool mineral formations in the basalt there

    • @nickmeyer208
      @nickmeyer208 29 дней назад

      @@AlexKaratzky FYI I talked to the owner of Blue Point Amethyst Mine about opportunities to look for some other minerals on publicly accessible land. Without me mentioning it first he used the little pig vein as an example of companies prosecuting hobby mineral collectors for theft. I can't recall who he said had mineral rights to it now, and not sure if it is posted no trespassing or not.

    • @AlexKaratzky
      @AlexKaratzky 29 дней назад

      @@nickmeyer208 That's really interesting, I appreciate you posting this here. Mineral rights are different from land though, ie you can own land but not the minerals and vice versa. I'd have too look into the laws on that since I'd assume it's fine to go in as long as it's not fenced off, but it would be a shame if the site gets closed.

    Hello Dear Brother, I am your big fan. I want to know that how can I edit backgrounds like gradient backgrounds, Bicolor, for minerals specimen and also create a detailed video on Photoshop editing software. Thank you, I hope I will receive the video quickly thank you.

    • @AlexKaratzky
      @AlexKaratzky 9 месяцев назад

      There's a few ways to do this - if you want to do it practically you just need to place the background further away from the specimen or use a tighter lens and you'll be able to control light hitting the background a lot better (this will help you achieve the look you want without interfering with the subject). Narrowly focussed lights will hit the background in a more concentrated spot and create a gradient. You can also do this with editing, just make sure you have a solid and consistent background and even lighting around your specimen. You can just mask out the specimen and place it in front of any background you want, just make sure it blends naturally with the image and lighting.

    • @AlexKaratzky
      @AlexKaratzky Год назад

      My setup can be found in the description btw - currently using the GEPRC Cinelog 25 (analog version) which I'm really enjoying. Cost about $250 CAD + about $100 for 4 batteries. The goggles I use, the Eachine ev800d's, are only about $100 and still hold up when it comes to analog video. Might be worth looking at HDZero for a cheaper digital goggles option. Controller wise I'd go with a Radiomaster TX16 if you have the budget, but anything in the $100-150 range will work fine with Express LRS. It all depends on what you're looking to do, but for just chill flying like this video you can get away with $500-600 for a full setup. Make sure to check out Oscar Liang and Joshua Bardwell's websites for more info, they have some great guides. Cheers!

      @AlexKaratzky Thanks bro! I am into just chill flying like this video. I think that $500 is a fair price for such a dron... for now I will just stay with only the analog camera, and when my flights will be more "advanced" and spectacular I will try some GoPro.
