In December 2023, we flew the R44 to Flinders Island (YFLI) from Hobart (YCBG) for my birthday. This trip kicked off the start of my 35th birthday weekend ticking off 35 new experiences. This trip was a bucket list trip with great weather minus the highish winds for the 44. Whilst on the island we did a quick lap up Mt Strzelecki the highest peak on the Island

How does the new bike feel in the rougher, rocky terrain ?
@@dorysutherland1222 It’s great! I was getting bounced around a bit but just needed to drop tyre pressure and a bit of preload in the suspension. Much less effort than on the old Beamer, far less forearm pump 🤣🤣
Hey mate, nice to see my local tracks :) What time of year was this filmed? I went through this exact track on the Himi 450 in September and it was also quite wet, so if this is recent I am surprised there is still so much water about. I'll have to get back up there for another spin.
@@ububox2087 hey mate, yeah this was from the 23rd Dec 2024. Still plenty of water around but we had a decent bit of rain the day before
Does the bike still have the stock Pirelli Rally STR tyres? I find them brilliant for the black top and gravel roads but I'm a bit concerned with any real off road stuff. I've heard that they're not good in mud/sand but I haven't ridden in any yet. I'm looking at some 50/50 options for when the current need replacing.
@@fjrsteve yeah still have the stock STRs on it. They only have 1000km on them. Great for gravel roads but I’m definitely going to change them out soon so I have a bit more safety factor when solo. I was running the Motoz Tractionator Rallz on my old bike so will look to do something similar
I'm going to do this track on the himi 450. I will see if I can cut through to judd river road also. Tried it in the troopy a while back but the loggers blocked the track with an excavator so it wasn't possible to get through.
Yeah we did it recently on another video the opposite direction. Judd Ck, White timbers, Jeffery’s. There was 2 small trees down but will be fine on the himi
Lets see completed welds. Please no Rap music. TIA
Good one Dale, looked pretty rough in places, lucky you had that low-down grunt.
Yeah Jeffrey’s is a good little local track. Running pretty good at the moment as it’s not too wet!
Thats fantastic Dale & Jaydo
@@davidblunden5369 Thanks Dave!
So what cups fitting do you need to buy for the Fronius?
Do You still hawe this setup???
Yeah, I love it. I've got a CK worldwide torch as well which is swivel head
@@dceng8460 Cool. Unfortunately, I can't get anything from CK in Poland. But I put together a few torches myself with a Fronius connector made by me. Recently, I also assembled water-cooled torches for aluminum. But unfortunately my version of the cooler (DIY) does not read the temperature correctly and I use the original Fronius sensor, but the flow sensor works ok (from another source) 😁 I'm just wondering how the PC heatsink with 3 fans will handle it? 😅
And remember your extra torch heads you had are not water cooled heads that is why it has a "G" for gas cooled on the neck. water cooled necks have a "W"
do more research, i think that would have been done before you drop Over 10 grand on a water cooler and welder and that is getting the welder with no pulse pro unlock so pule is locked at 50% and no adjucting of background amps an percentage. don't get me wrong i am about to get a new Iwave 230i with water cooler, foot pedal, spare torch heads and pulse pro unlock for site and mobile work.
How are u finding the fronius?
What did you pay all up for both units in Aussie?
About $3600 for the watercooler and like $7k for the Magicwave
@@dceng8460 Ouch! I think It's cheaper in NZ but still painful.
@@tristanpatterson3843 Yeah the water cooler is crazy expensive
I don't get it. The machine goes up to 230 amps right? You are on 240 volt where you live I presume? How is the machine going after the last year? Did you get another torch for it?
Yeah man! Excellent machine.
Yewww
Hey I went for the wired pedal, i didn't trust the wireless in cas of lag: at the end of the day i'd use it for bench jobs, so i don't really need it to be wireless. Did you experience any lag so far, what can u say about it?
I love the wireless pedal. I haven't had any lag to report. It is definitely a luxury to have wireless of wired but I'm happy with it
@@dceng8460 nice to hear, i couldn't trust the wifi and there wasn't any review online, so i went for the classic wired 1
As much as I love Rage Against the Machine, you should turn it down a bit
Rodger that!
Stop listen this communists, good vid btw, love Fronius
Good content but you've got to fix your sound ! Get a wired/wireless lav mike and dump the background music which keeps drowning out your voice.
Thanks for the feedback, yeap I have got myself a mic so hopefully the audio will improve
hello good could you help me with the price of the equipment magc wave 230 i please
The ck worlwide torch is nice, but it doesn't have the 3 buttons. I know many people use the foot pedal and so they don't care that much about it, but if you use the job system, the 3 buttuons are really handy: you can save let's say 20 jobs with 20 amp increasing each, 10 jobs with no pulse and 10 with pulse frequency; if you weld in 4 strokes you can use the up and down switch to change the job during the welding process; this can simulate a foot pedal and it's very useful if you weld on the field and for all those situations in wich a foot pedal isn't confortable to use. Obviously if you weld mostly at bench the ck is a better torch. Also as you noticed on the fronius torch you just push the ceramic and it's hold in place by the black rubber ring: if you weld with high amps, especially on AC, you might have considered to go for the watercooled version of the torch, since the heat tends to deform that rubber ring and over time the ceramic will fit loose and you'll have to replace that ring. I can tell you this, cause it always happen in our factory (lots of mw5000 here) generally once every 10/15 days (with water cooled torch obviously), but here the welding machines run everyday h 24 between 280 and 450/500 amps, wich is not your cade i guess.
Thanks for the advice. I've got myself a water cooler now which is awesome. The main reason for going to the CK torch is the flex head, I've really got used to the flex head on my other machine so didn't really like the standard torch to start with. I go back and forth between the CK and the standard torch. I love the interchangeable heads but no flex head sucks! I don't have the job manager interface on my torch but the machine is generally right next to me so not a big deal
@@dceng8460 i see, about the standard torch, if you weld a bit, when the head gets warm you can gently bend it even if it's not flexible anyway, but as i said for bench jobs the ck + the pedal are the best options👍🏻
can hardly hear you over the music loose the music and your videos will be much better.
Rodger that
Yep….. and stop with the crazy-spiral-body-cam. I got quite spaced trying to watch the first part 🤪 11 months later…. how is it going? Regards Robert
cool video. thanks for sharing your projects.
Awesome video, Give us a call if you want any inforemation. Much easier then reading the manuals :)
Thanks, I need to work out how to do the firmware upgrade. I've tried a few times with no luck
Barely got to see the weld. Spend less time on you, and more on the welding and the result. Espesh, the result.
