Franciscan Passages - Nun Documentaries
США
Добавлен 7 окт 2014
Are you interested in Franciscans, monastery life, women's lives or the ideals of living in community, in simplicity, poverty or chastity? I've completed 7 short documentaries and hope you'll watch them all.
I have known many women religious over the years (a.k.a. nuns) as friends, classmates, housemates and colleagues and have enjoyed sharing many meals while laughing at their great stories, unexpected stories. My goal is to capture, preserve and share these stories so that you can get to know them as they describe their lives, in their own words.
Please contact me if you'd like to talk about collaborations, future projects or with any questions or comments you have after watching. I'd love to hear from you.

A Look at Chester Pennsylvania | Anna's Place of Franciscan Hospitality

My first documentary, made from scratch with much instruction from generous RUclipsrs plus a grant from National Catholic Sisters Week. Chester, PA is often in the news because of the crime and poverty which locals encounter on a daily basis. This film is about something else that is happening in Chester: a warm, friendly place were "people look forward to come." Do you want to see more documen...

About this project: I carried my camera with me one night when I went to volunteer for a couple of hours at an overflow shelter. This is a temporary shelter provided on the property of a church. These are also known as cold weather shelters as they provide additional beds for those who would otherwise suffer and perhaps die in the cold during the winter. About my camera:I bought a Canon HD Vixi...
God Bless you sisters and thank you for your prayers.
You live such a beautiful life! I hope to be like you someday. I am currently discerning and will visit the Poor Clares in PA soon!
Peace to All you Poor Ladies, from Jerusalem Israel. Anthony, ofm from Jesus Good Shepherd, Parish Riverside
What a beautiful job to tell the story of the individuals, their faith journeys, their community, the order, the church. A story that needed to be told and told again
Shout out from East Brunswick New Jersey!
I really enjoyed watching this. God bless and love everybody.😊🕊️👑😇🌹🙏💝
This gives me hope! I am 38 years old and felt the calling recently to give my life to God and I would love, love to be a nun but I am married with two children, one who is 15 and one who is nearly 3. It makes me feel guilty to say it but hopefully when they are older and have their own lives, God will still want me to serve him 🙏🥰 For now I will serve him in whatever capacity I can. Amen
You can do it, my baby doctor... After his wife died, he became a priest! Dr Sherman 😊
@@winros Thank you for your encouragement 🙏🥰
Please pray for my depression to be healed.

For the animals eating the plants, collect human hair and tuck the hair around plants pushing into soil....
Please pray for my partner and myself that we get òff drugs ❤❤
Get a proper habit. Shame on you with the earrings!! I guess it's too trouble to show your profession in your habits.
Sisters caring the CHALICE?
I have Plazma Cytoma and Multiple Myeloma and I would appreciate being on the prayer list.
Its sad that some parents have such objections to a Religious Vocation, some even cutting ties with a child.
I love you sisters of Saint Clare your prayers are so powerful and favored by God please continue to pray for us. The world needs your prayers sisters 🙏😇
Beautiful programme god bless all.
Thank you
Peaise be toGOD....IT IS THE BEST LIFE..A LIFE IN PRAYERS and CLEANSING YOUR SOUL of material longings.. because WE ARE SOUL....OUR SOUL WILL BE FOREVER... Whether you go to heaven or hell is up to you.
🧡💛❤❤🙏❤❤💛🧡 this would be my dream x
I grew up in Australia .my parents emigrated from Croatia Australia in 1959 ..I was educated in Catholics school by nuns..loved them all! Needless to say I wanted to be a nun, however, that was not to be..I opted to return to Croatia ( the then Yugoslavia) in 1976..had a large family..six of each gender..lived well ( still do) BUT I often ask myself did I make the right choice?..you see, just because you find yourself in a so-called life-story does NOT mean you made the RIGHT choice..it's the result of your FREE-WILL which, in the majority of cases, is mostly a choice you make in a moment of emotional frenzy..so, it is usually NOT the right, nor wise, choice..well there it is..perhaps my first inkling would have been a much wiser choice.thank you for this exceptional video..blessings!
Hi. I'm the filmmaker (not one of the nuns). In life, we have lots of choices all the time and it is possible to have multiple options in front of us that are a "right choice" so yes, you made a right choice among many good options.
Hello❤️
good to hear that to all of you- very refreshing
we are laughing all together story telling ; workmen
i super love ; that story very much too nun's
phat vien are for monks or nun monks . tu si equal to male and female belongs to temples b -
nun's = TU NU and that is what you are = females nun's = for church specific = CLOISTER
I love this!
Please be sure to watch my other 6 short documentaries about women religious as well!
What peace and inner joy these nuns exude. I live close to Assisi and love going to the quiet cloister of San Damiano where Santa Chiara was. It is incredible to realize how one person can change so many souls all over the world by reflecting God's love. Blessings from Assisi.🙏🙏
I had no idea people could live this kind of life. Wish I knew when I was young.
Still hearing the silent whisper calling me to this vocation...maybe one day
You don't have to make a lifelong commitment until many, many years into the process, give it a whirl!
Erm, all due respect, being a nun/monk is not the only way to serve. I’m Protestant (Quaker), have often thought about being a nun, but: 1) I’m not willing to convert, and 2) my sight is failing. So, i use the crochet skills i learned in childhood (when my sight was much better, and i was taught by my maternal grandmother) to make scarves, shawls and lap afghans for charity. A F/friend (she is also Quaker, but is a friend ‘outside’ the faith), comes about once/month to help me bring my donations to a Meetinghouse.
@@Quaker-tc8ue I agree with everything you said
@@Unknown0ne you are welcome, much good luck to you!
I would love to see one more convent return to traditional habits as St. Clare. Women entering religious life are now most especially looking for the traditional habits and way of life. Those convents are attracting more young women than other more liberal groups. It may be an isue that should seriouly taken to prayer.....🙏
Pick up a camera and go make a documentary about one of those groups-they'd love to have you, I'm sure!
@@JulieMcElmurry...Good advice. I enjoy videos/docs like these. My camera is near. I have to find the subjects.
Why pray ? Doesn't God already know your prayer?
Help me. Sisters God bless you all 🙏🙏🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳. India
If you need to keep animals out of the garden try black pepper and ground chili peppers. They will stay away from the garden 😮
Of course nuns go out lol. Even the the cloistered nuns who live a few suberbs over from me go out i see them out doing their groceries going to the dr etc.
What a beautiful life, to be in joyful service.
Thank you for watching! Please see all the ones I"ve made.
This touched my heart! What beautiful devotion to God and community. Thank you, Sisters for your prayers for us all. We In return pray for you. You all have beautiful hearts. ❤️🙏🌹
Thank you for enjoying it! It would mean a lot to me if you could share this with others.

Great documentary about this Godly women. I like now the Sr at 24:58 (Sr Mary Agatha Cebula) use of words. :) Greetings from Sweden. :)
Wonderful! This was one of the first ones I made and am self-taught. Thanks for watching it.
Every human being has a cross to secretly carry. Thanks to sisters like these our lives are enriched and helped beyond measure
Absolutely. We all need to be a bit more patient with each other.
😍
Thank you for watching and enjoying!
Thank you for this, I’m having a dark day but now it’s brighter.
Thank you for watching. Please enjoy the other films I've made about 3 other monasteries as well.
I'd love to listen but the music is too annoying.
Interesting perspective. Check out the other 6 shorts on here.
God bless you sisters and thank you for taking care of sister Natalie with such love and compassion 🙏
Hello❤️
God doe’s listen to prayer.
Oh, I wish I had chosen this life in my 40s or 50s!
You can still correspond with a community or visit them.
This is wonderful. Got to hear your stories ... God is great!
Thank you sister. Please let me know if you know of other communities around the country I can film.
