Unfortunately no, transmission issues took us out of the race Saturday afternoon. Too bad, we love the rain with FWD. I want it to pour rain the entire race.

I find that it's rare that a driver remembers things as they actually happened in all elements in the heat of the moment, instead it's typically their perspective and what they've mentally put together then they look at the video later and realize things might be a little different than they recall. Human nature.

This was done via an AIM data system that was pulled out of an older race car. We had it so we used it but it’s a bit on the expensive side. There are other options, RaceRender, RaceCapture, etc. Look around on the Lemons forums as well as the ChampCar forums and there is a lot of discussion on options.

Dave was our second driver; our first did 3 hours so that puts Dave in the car from 1p until around 2:45. This would be the latter portion of his stint as the camera divides it up at max file size and Dave also had a black flag which shuts down the camera (based on speed). Your car really pulls down the straight, when I was in the car I’d better get a good exit or no chance. Good racing with you guys, as short lived as it was for us.

Hi John. Overlays come from an out of production AIM data system (EVO4) that came out of a an old race car. It is not cheap but AIM stuff works. The wonky oil pressure displayed is my Config mistake, it actually shows correct PSI real time in the car. There are cheaper alternatives like RaceRender and some others. It also logs all data so I can compare oil pressure to G force for example and see if I’m getting starvation in certain situations. Best of all it alerts drivers to issues which they of course ignore.

@@jimbist9198 on no! I initially thought it was a connecting rod as well, but my teammates were all like: "SHO? Yeah, there's a ~100% chance that was the transmission blowing up and not the engine..." Heartbreaker for sure, but at least you went out in a blaze of glory. I had to park the Supercheat BMW early on Sunday because the PCM kept popping fuses all afternoon. When I got home after the race, I did a sample check of the 30A fuses I bought in bulk off Amazon and not a single one of them lasted above 20A when I slowly cracked up amperage on my power supply. Grrrr....

Did you guys get a lot faster since last year?? I think you ran the same car last year and I could kinda keep pace but this year it wasn’t even close, had a similar exit speed once out of 10 into the long straight and you guys just steadily pulled away.

We continue to develop the handling, including lowering another inch, which seems to help a lot

And we welded up the diff, nice for exit launch

A transmission cooler will help 3rd gear last longer.
