I set out to go Snook fishing in a 40 year old covered canoe in Mosquito lagoon for Snook and what ever else will bite. We launched from the Edgewater kayak ramp and paddled around the mangrove canals.

The girl friend asked how she could help, there wasn't much she could do. What wasn't visible was the rudder lost a bolt and I was struggling to steer.
@FishingAroundFlorida I figured it was something like that. Crazy you landed it. I'm not sure I could have done that with no pedals and a hand paddle. Hats off to you. Nice work.

It’s been a challenge around there the past week. Top water action at sunrise then the bite shuts down quick. Nice cuda!
We had good luck in Hunters Creek this week, but yesterday the bite stopped once the tide started dropping.

@@henrywillis1367 I've started fishing again, had a few weeks with weird tide times, poor weather, and family stuff.
I'm a New Smyrna guy and fish Waters like this I'm big on the paddle tails in the d.o.a.s but I really need to start considering these hard jerk baits more.. bomber long A type ..just hook ratio seems better
For covering lots of ground the hard swim baits are the best. We will speed down the creeks till we get some action then slow down and work an area.
It's a star rod 7' 8-13 medium fast , I love that rod.

How many miles did we paddle today? I lost count of all the fish we landed. Just finished cleaning all those snapper. Got a box of McCormick Fish and Chips batter for some sandwiches tomorrow.
My phone says we did 6.5 miles. I meant to count the fish but lost track.

Ate my first jack the other day. Small filets made an ice slurry and left it in the fridge overnight, then changed the water once. Worked well. Seasoned it and pan seared. supper surprise 😂

Great fishing day,my brother has the same yellow lime Yo Zuri lure you were using that thing rocks, he’s caught quite a few fish on it but the coolest thing was the 49 in Gar he caught in the tomoka river using that. What to fight it for 25mins to land it

Atlantic coast a couple of miles inland from Ponce Inlet.
Why would the other person say is it legal, it's not even close to being to small , and I don't think there is such a thing as being to large for that type of fish, so just curious on why he would even say that. Or did he think he caught a Mexican on the border??lol
In Florida, Redfish need to be between 18" and 27" to keep. Plus we fish creeks at the very north end of Indian River Lagoon where Redfish are catch and release only. For us it depends on which boat ramp we use that day.
