The Neighborhood Flyby, Cardboard Houses
In this video, we show the houses the students (and Mr. Tom) made out of cardboard for the Building Study we just finished up.
Miss Ty painted the houses the same color as the houses in the pictures sent in by the parents. The kids had a LOT of fun with this.

Short video of National Park, NJ beach walkway. It's winter now (Feb 2022) but in the summer there are lots of planes landing, ships floating by, power boats galore, the wonderful sound of the Delaware River, and the beautiful Philly skyline, all in one place. Pack a picnic lunch, then walk it off while the sound of the waves relax you like only nature can. National Park, NJ. Exit 21 off Route ...

Hummingbird got Caught in a Rainstorm...

I always wondered what happened to a humming bird in the rain. Can you imagine walking down the street and having a big ball of water that weighs as much as a bowling ball hitting you in the head? Just think what these little buggers feel when it starts to rain and they get caught in it. I think that's why he's staying put on the crook instead of trying to fly to his nest.

Our only 'Pandemic' vacation for 2020 and 2021... a one-day trip to Cape May, NJ in the USA. We did a Rail-Bike tour with the Revolution Rail Company, as well as a Horse-Drawn Carriage Ride with the Cape May Carriage Company and a lot of fun stuff in between. I forgot how nice Cape May, NJ was!
Announcing a NEW CHANNEL! "Zarbo Audio Projects"
Просмотров 2413 года назад
This channel started off as a way to help new and upcoming woodworkers and speaker builders begin building good quality cabinets as well as gain an understanding of the ins and outs of veneering. Somehow it turned into a hodge-podge of every video I ever made. I'm announcing that I've started a new channel "Zarbo Audio Projects" which will be dedicated to the design and construction of speakers...

love emma cruises. great video and keep on cruising!
Super excited. Sept. 7th, yaya!
Have fun! Oh, and there is FREE coffee in the 'Starbucks' lounge late night and early morning, it's in the back where they have the urns set up... regular and decaf. In case you can't sleep and find yourself getting up at 3 am like I did.
Me too! September 7 ) It’s my 50th birthday 🎂
This was really helpful, thanks man.
Hi, is this the North Bridge Run or Hadley Station Run? I am choosing between the two routes.
Do you really recomend this stereo? 50x4 watts Not Hot and off?
Is there digital equalizer on the screen?
Didn't know you had this channel, Tom. Thanks for the link from PE.
Bought one as replacement for my Sony that has issue with USB port. Well i went with this one, because i could not justify purchasing again Sony and to pay more than i paid 10 years ago. This one is well made of Chinesium worked for a month, video playback would work ( no 720p support ) but suddenly after just two months it just freezes when i try to play video file. And the sound sound is just horrible, it burned one of my SD cards. Overall cheap Chinese crap, i really do not think it will last a year, well it will do until i buy another quality mp3 player.
I'm in!
Can you upgrade firmware on these, and how?
I don't believe you can. I'm not saying it's not possible, but documentation is so sparse and hit-or-miss that I wouldn't know how to do so. The left USB stick does read data, so if it were possible, that would be how it could be done.
@@thomaszarbo9535 Thank you for the reply buddy.
Is there a button while you are listening music via mp3 to change to album to the next one?
Zarbo is my favorite!
Nice job.
Has display off?
The sound. I know what you mean. It's crazy how a couple thousand bees sound.
Molto belli e soluzione interessante
what grit sandpaper are you using to work the edge?
you might try going around that edge with screwdriver shaft. i find it sorta "tucks it in" and sets it. then i light sand as you did.
What grade sandpaper?
Thank you very much. Your fine instructions were clear and much appreciated.
I dont have the option to go to any sort of home screen on this radio. Its just aux, bluetooth, radio and settings for me. How do I get what you have?
Even after just a couple weeks you can feel MDF endgrain raise up. I sanded my speakers flat and now I have to do it again lol. Also using 3m glazing putty to help eliminate the endgrain line
Does anybody tried to play m4a files on it? Does it have AAC (m4a) file support?
I'm your biggest fan. 🤓
I bet you say that to all the RUclipsrs!
Very nice work, just what I needed. Would like to see a pick and products on ur finished build. Just realizing store bought products leave alot to be desired.
hello, how to fix this?
How many watts is this? It can drive a 250watts speaker?
What about this subwoofer?
It is definitely a problem with contact cement also.
found this on diyaudioforum, may i say, this is one of the simplest videos on this subject ever. how you dont have more audio videos on the other channel amazes me considering how well regarded you are in the diy audio community
That's kind of you, I really appreciate it. I'm going to try and do some more of these types on the Zarbo Audio Projects channel in the coming months. Thanks again for the kind words. I know this video was a tough watch but I'm glad you could get out of it what I was trying to convey.
duh
I am definitely subscribing! If I can help out in any way, please let me know. I'd be happy to help anyway I can.
Thanks a lot, I have a lot to learn about actually trying to deliver clear, concise content. You make it look easy, but I'm discovering that it is not. I appreciate the support. thank you.
Great info as I just bought a camper van with this radio , all is working well but the bluetooth mobile I can receive a call and hear it all ok but they can't hear me does this mean I have to buy a mic , I thought the mic was built in any info would be very helpful thank you.
Thanks b
Great vid. Thx for sharing.
I really like the Woodprix plans.
good luck
I found some amazing plans for Woodglut. Just check them out.
Good luck. There isn’t a lot of audio DIY content on RUclips. Wood working specific to speakers is very helpful. But so is electronics. Especially being able to give people confidence to start a project.
Nice guide, thanks! exactly what I was looking for 🙂👍
Noah had a question on current draw while powered down since the screen stays on, I'll put the comment here so all can easily see: I put the radio on the bench and powered it up again to see what the current draw is with it powered down. Here is what I found: *With the unit OFF but still connected to power (red and yellow leads) it drew around 200 mA as the screen was still active displaying the time. *With the unit ON (FM Radio) and the volume down it drew around 400 mA (to simulate the unit running, at a low volume) *With the unit OFF (No Screen Showing) and the red lead disconnected (similar to the ACC being off in a car) but the yellow (memory) lead still connected, I only read between 0.01 and 0.00 mA. So the power draw was so low as to be basically nil. So basically, in order to use this in a boom box/table radio type of situation without killing the batteries, you would have to put a switch on the red lead and power that down so just the yellow/black leads were connected. I confirmed that this held the settings and drew basically no current. A bit inconvenient to have to turn a switch on and then turn the unit on, but in order to preserve power when you're not using it, I guess that's what we will have to do. Thanks for posting the question!
Thomas, read with great interest your thread about this line of SWM units on Parts-Express. Amazing how far Chinese consumer electronics have come in the last 10 years. $30 for this thing? Both cool and a little frightening they can hit that price point with these features and decent quality and still turn a profit (the state subsidies and currency manipulation help of course...). Has anyone figured out a way to power down the unit completely (no standby screen/clock) without losing the memory? Concerned about battery drain in a truck that might not get driven for a few weeks at a time. In automotive, anything more than a 40-100 mA cumulative draw in sleep mode is going to tax the charging system. I read you measured this unit has a 280 mA draw in standby -- way too much. I guess for $30 you're not going to get world class circuit engineering? ;) Maybe wiring in a capacitor or a coin type battery for memory retention? But that's a pretty big screen to keep powered up. This unit is so close to being exactly what I was looking for: - Single DIN - Rotary volume knob - Aux input - No cheap chrome plastic trim - No annoying frou frou like dancing dolphin animations (i.e. Pioneer DEH series) - No branding Only issue is the standby mode and memory retention issue.
Noah, I agree with your assessment... this thing is very clean looking and not at all gimmick-y with lots of bright colors and animations, just real nice looking. Regarding the power retention issue...If you notice in the video, I left both the 12 power and yellow always-on lines connected together. After thinking about it more, I believe that if the red power line were removed from power, but the yellow kept connected, it would retain memory but turn off the clock. In a car, this is accomplished by the ignition on/off/retain function of the car itself. In a radio such as I would like to build with this, there is no "ignition" to kill the main (red) line to the radio. If that were switched with a physical switch, with the yellow always connected to the power, it should be able to power down the screen while retaining memory. I'll test this out in a day or two and get back with another comment.
Noah, See the new comment above regarding current draw while off
@@thomaszarbo9535 Brilliant, thanks Thomas!
On the diagram there is one wire that says steering wheel input what is that . Can i use my steering wheel buttons to control the unit ? Is there a way to wire it in ? Does this support steering wheel input ?
I believe you can use the steering wheel input on some cars with this. The manual won't tell too much of the story probably. I'd go to Aliexpress and find someone who sells this product with a fair number of comments and question/answers. You may be able to find some better information there. I've purchased other radios from Ali and Banggood and received instructions from a different radio that didn't even pertain to what I bought. I don't expect too much from the documentation at this point. Good luck! And feel free to report back with any info you find, it may help others. --Tom
How thick is your veneer?
You know, I'm not even sure how thick it is. Its paper backed, purchased from veneer supplies.com, they have a standard thickness by default.
@@thomaszarbo9535 I think paper back is 10mil / 0.01in. I plan to follow your instructions and veneer my sub. Thanks for the video!
Thanks for the heads up on the end grain swell.
u know where i can find user manual?
I noticed you keep placing your camera on the left side. Does it mean the screen is not visible from the left side? I had one of these and can't view anything on the screen from left side. Can you confirm if the view is the same from both sides?
The display is the same on both sides, I just ended up filming from one side for some reason. Oh, and or tbe other poster, Bluetooth works just fine.
@@thomaszarbo9535 Can you verify that the BT connection doesn't get dropped when there is silence being streamed? I have the SWM 80A that's exhibiting that behavior which is apparently common in cheap BLE chips and wondering whether purchasing this HU might be an option.
How do i turn off the display? When igual turn off the stereo the clock stay on screen how i turn that off anybody knows?
Since its a car stereo, and power is readily available, the screen is supposed to stay on even when the radio is off. The only way to do it is to cut power to the main 12v power line with a switch, but then you loose your settings unfortunately. You could try to hack the board to switch on/off the display, but that would be difficult to do, and may introduce noise into the video signal.
