Thank you
This was a great overview with key aspects of the history of the evolution of the Episcopal Church made clear. Well done and entertaining!
Episcopalians don’t believe the Word of God. I had to leave the church and join the Anglican Church years ago. It broke my heart to leave but the Holy Ghost convicted me to go.
It has never been the belief of the Church that the sacrifice of Christ was being repeated. What happens is a re-presentation of the one sacrifice of Christ. What the "reformers" have done here is to create a false straw man argument.
You are completely wrong about the both the Immaculate Conception and the Assumption. The Immaculate Conception is the dogma that Mary was kept free of original sin from the time of her conception. The Roman Catholic Church does not hold that Mary was taken up to heaven while still living. The Church is silent on the matter. The Chruch holds that Mary was taken up to heaven bodily at the end of her life. I would expect a priest to be better educated than that.
I think I visited the church while I was at IU in 2011. Did you become rector recently?
I just don't see the point in being a Christian if you're just going to pick and choose which articles of faith to believe or disbelieve. If you don't believe that the bible is truth in its entirety, then why bother being a Christian?

Very clear and informative to someone with a nondenominational background! God is good.
Loved the Dorian Toccata! Excellent playing.
I've been episcopalian for 46 years and this was education. Thank you
Wonderful 🙏
Thank you for this video
Don’t make believe. Just be become a Roman Catholic and be the original.
Left the Catholic Church for the Episcopal Church here, mostly had to do with Catholics not allowing women ordination.
Yeah cuz women cannot be ordained!@peacecraft3449
@ramranch4381 they can be, in fact most churches allow them.
Is there a process for that?
I am a Catholic. Unfortunately, many people are not welcome in the Catholic Church.
Interesting. I am a Canadian Anglican - interesting what you've added to Baptism.
As a suggestion, it would be great if Episcopalians would stop saying “bells and smells,” or “smells and bells,” however it goes, as it is derisive toward every other religious and esoteric practice known to man, perhaps with the exception of Protestants and heretics. The bells and the incense have real meaning and real spiritual power to people everywhere on Earth. You aren’t being rude to the beliefs of only the Catholics, if deriding Catholics is what you are hoping to do. Please remember that even if the esoteric underpinnings are missing from your understanding of these important practices, their use isn’t lost on others. It might be nice if you brought them back, actually.
Gotta go to old school Episcopalian churches. It still exists.
Why do you put money on the altar during the blessing of the Eucharist?
Thanks so much for this content. It was really informative and helpful in my research on Episcopal beliefs and the church.
There's a difference between believing that every person has dignity, as everyone is made in God's image, and affirming actions and behavior that is clearly sinful. I'd argue that doing that latter does the opposite of affirming someone's dignity.
I was raised in the Episcopal church. When I became a Christian I realized it was not Christian theologically Based. They are not readers of the Bible from the pulpit and are very liberal.
Yeah. That's why I love the Episcopalian faith, as I was originally raised. It's holds true to the original word.
Sorry, but I found this to be quite wishy washy. We're I not a cradle Episcopalian, J doubt this would have inspired me to become one.
I am also an Episcopalian, and unfortunately wishy-washy is on brand for us.
Hi, I’m looking to find a spiritual home, and I am confused about something that I hope you understand and can explain to me in a way that won’t make me wonder about the appropriateness of it endlessly. Could you please explain to me why money is put on the altar during the blessing of the Eucharist? It seems like such a dark practice to me right now.
I was baptised as a baby church of england im from england uk so ive grown up with it and now in my 40s im going back to it .i have the 2023 bcp and its still in old English that suits the kjv when doing the daily office at home
Thanks this is so interesting i just started to use bcp for daily home preyer 😅that litany verse must have been sore relations back then
Thank you. I am new to Episcopalianism. This was very informative and something I respect and had been looking for.
First time I join in your services … it just popped up when I open RUclips to my surprise … love that Episcopalian church usas the liturgy as the Catholics. … so much ignorance between Christians … 😊
A Christian church that embraces LGBTQ ideology? 😂😂😂😂
Of course we do because Christ would have too. We believe God made all people unique.
I'm Episcopalian and know many of us that don't affirm LGBTQ ideology. Are they welcome to attend Church? Yes, but to truly walk with Christ, they must "go and sin no more." There is a whole spectrum; many of us are Orthodox. We aren't all practicing heresy.
I am a gay Christian and I have no "LGBTQ ideology".
Are you crazy by any chance? Have you read what Paul, the apostle chosen by Christ, said about homosexuality? Or the Old Testament? or the Book of Revelation? Do you think you are protecting these people? You're taking them to hell with you@@jupiterinaries6150
Wow! incredible sermon.
The RC doctrine of the immaculate conception is that Mary was born without original sin not that she was born of a virgin!
I love being an Episcopalian. Hoping to Discern a call to Deacon
Gates was always thinking of others, and that he designed his service to help others gain a deeper understanding of our relationship with Christ is a tribute to the loving kindness that was at his center . Father Don did a wonderful job helping us understand the deeper meanings of the passage Gates chose to enlighten us with for his funeral's sermon.
I've been an Episcoplaian for 45 years and never had this presented to me before. Thank you! Please do more videos.
Excellent Video. I belong to an Episcopal Church in Pennsylvania and have been looking for information on our history. Your video answered a ton of history questions. Two questions. 1. Do you consider the early settlers at Jamestown, for example, Episcopalians, although they were Church of England then? 2. One question on the Scotland Episcopal Church. They have nothing to do with the US Episcopal Church, correct? They would just be part of the Anglican communion? Thanks 😊
Is she so dumb that she just want's to hand over our sovernty to the New World Order that is working for the Antichrist. If you take away sane citizens rights to carry guns the only ones who will have guns are the insane people and criminals. If you want to stop shootings in school put gun toting police in the schools. Notice that the largest percentage of gun deaths are in Democrat towns, cities and states.👎👎👎👎👎👎
Baby gen gen?
It's so good to see Canterbury and Trinity working together again. It was through Canterbury that we became members at Trinity some 30 years ago.
Thank you for this message.
Agree with the comment below. Dr. Keiser is the best! Marvelous music. And, a page-turner must be prepared for anything when called upon:)!
Thank you for this! As a Bloomington resident looking for a church your video has been incredibly helpful!
So glad you found it helpful! You can find out more about Trinity at TrinityBloomington.org or join us Sunday!
Beautiful service. Thank you for streaming it and making it available.
I love this. Thank you so much for streaming this.
Loved the Drischner, Dr. Keiser!
Thanks much.
Terrific work, musicians & the generous techie who took the time to put all this content together! I’ll gladly share. 🎼
Good morning! Nice to see Mother Virginia again!
No clue. I haven't heard of any of them!! There are a lot of hymns I really like, and you mentioned a number of them. There's one I like though that's not in our Episcopal hymnal, nor is in the The Lutheran Hymnal, The Lutheran Book of Worship or Lutheran Worship: Children of the Heavenly Father. I also really like: Of the Father's Love Begotten.
Yes, I think Journey is the outlier here!
Thanks so much for these wonderful videos, Rev. Matt! My guess is Journey. :)
Scared Marilyn
lovely! thanks for brightening my day.
Thank you for making this available. I really appreciate it.
Thanks for your comments and guesses! The vegan restaurant guesses win! Although truth be told, I was only a roadie for Warren Zevon for one show, at the U of Chicago, with the band X opening. Never actually met Mr. Zevon. He, or his crew, was very picky about the hospitality food options in their contract rider, though, as I recall. I'll come up with 3 more questions for the next video.
