Endurance GB Elan valley Pr 32k
A scenic ride in Elan Valley Mid West Wales.
Organised by Endurance GB mid Wales. 2 routes for saturday a 20km and 32 km.
We opted for the longer route to see how my horse coped after rehab work due to her being hit by a car last August resulting in her fetlock not having as much flex as it should do.
My work has paid off, slow work to start with then increasing distance then faster work shorter distance.
My horse enjoyed this ride.....a little to much at one point but not once where her ears pinned back and when she wanted to walk for a while....I let her, this was on stony tracks!!

After a long recovery after a car hit my horse, we are back in the forest to play about. No endurance competitions for her now, the aim is just to enjoy the ride and views. Music, Spirit - Riding Free, Maisy Stella. (very fitting from what we have been through!)

Our year didn't start well when one of my horses sustained an injury in the field resulting in deep cuts on 2 of her feet, front been the worst. 8 weeks rest, one full week in the box which drove us all insane as she doesn't like been on her own, but had to be done.....by day 3 she was fine been on her own and wasn't stressed. Forest ride but blocked and a new track ridden

This forest we train in and this route is a favourite....but it was blocked by 2 trees ready to be cut, so it was a back track and do a track ive been told not to do due to the steepness and rockyness of it......well it wasnt that bad so glad we did it.

A very tough event over very hilly terrain in Wales with 50 horse and over 700 runners try to finish before each other. This day made it worse due to the heat so horse welfare was top priority and sadly a few horses where pulled out or retired. Enjoy the ride. Ride chip time indicates at 2 hours 34 min 17 seconds which is faster than the 2 horses who I caught up! What an achievement and the bes...

Jess, best friend and a horse that all would like to ride out on. A true honest steed that would look after you out on the hacks, no matter what situation arises. Do you still go riding at rainbowtrail, Powys?
This is a bloody disgrace when will network rail stop knocking down our heritage ore at least give these signal box's to a preserve line instead of sending them to a tip,
only so many preserved lines about and not all of them can take on the burden of looking after them
there is good reason for them to be knocked down
Fun fact: many heritage railways don't need a signal box
oh wow Mike this looks fab!!! Good ol Jess, Diva is goina love it too. How does it work? does a runner have the same number as you and you got to win them or something? Id definitely prefer to ride than run lol
Both runners and riders have same miles, 22 ish miles, the runners have a 10 minutes head start then horses let loose! Vet check as yiu see half way which horses must pass and at the end. It's not for the faint hearted but a hell of a lot of fun!

Very sad to see such lovely 'boxes abolished forever. The signalman must have felt very sad sending 7-5-5 and entering it into the train register book for the last time.
Yes very sad. Something we grew up with almost never seen again.
@@POON3345 it's se that many box's were put out of action because of health and safety for not having flushing toilets
Another piece of our railway heritage put into the dustbin...along with many other `crimes` committed by our new `progressive` technology of today...very sad indeed?
Definitely agree its so sad to see our much loved heritage go but i suppose we still have places like blackpool which are still COMPLETLEY semaphore so were not complete doomed
