How to Economically Pump Oil from the Formation, as follows
Kinda a trip to see the open flames for heat.
1st engine I want to put into a car!
Nice rythm😊
thanks for the post
July 30, 2009 - soon to be 15 - define "veteran" . . . . 🥰
Cool…
I like these because of all the linkages moving
It sounds like Mr Krabs walking
Looks just like the one at Rough & Tumble Pa show
Where is this place?
the rod that sticks out the end is there to support the weight of the piston. both pistons float inside their bores and are supported by the external bearings under the rods that stick out.this is to reduce any wear on the cylinder bores and pistons due to gravity. it would be very difficult to rebore this or even change out pistons.
also equalizes piston area for even displacement in all cylinders and have cooling water running through them as well
moc pěkný
kind of ironic an engine using hot air, being used to blow cold air.
Magnificent old beast.
I imagine more that one of those ran away when they were in use. Bet that was freaking scary?
Gonna take about $1500 in gas to run that thing for an hour.
Refering to the sound, they just run on compressed air in stead of steam.
DAMN, what a flywheel........ That is a big-one!! I like the small American flags on the governor, nice touch.. U.S.A.!!!!! To the folks who restored and maintain this work of art-- My Hat is Off to Each of YOU-excellent work!!!!
A smaller version of the snow engine!
That is a gorgeous engine. Any more information on it?
Looks like the OIL SHOW.
neat
Fantastic, really gets my Adrenaline flowing. I love this stuff! I learned how to drive on an old Poppin Johnny when I was 7 years old. A sound to never forget...
What was this engine used for.
Probably pumping natural gas.
Natural gas compression to boost line pressure for delivery into the transmission system and eventually delivery to businesses and residential
Вот эту хуйню в разнос пустить🤔
А, чё это за ебота?
Where the hell is this Coolspring Power Museum, anyway?

I just heard about this. Thought Allas Chalmers only made tractors
The cam follower mechanisms on this engine are---odd. Unique.
the design looks like it would really wear fast
Common in those days. Didn't sed lobe cams until the Type 26, I think.
high surface area spreads out the load reducing wear, these engines ran continually for many months at a time
That is so not right allowing them to sit out in the weather like this. It's sad to see😥😥😥😥
climbed all over this thing multiple times as a kid. one of the coolest things i've ever seen.

What a fantastic specimen of an articulated steam locomotive, glad to see that 3 of these locomotives were preserved.
It ranks right along with the U.P Bigboys.
Wonderful stuff. Built to last forever
Incredible engines
Great music selection
I feel a fundraiser should be done and have a structure put over the top of Yellowstone No.225 to protect her from the elements and potential vandalism. And maybe even have this engine a cosmetic restoration, much like they did with Yellowstone No. 229 at Two Harbors, Minnesota.
My mother in laws great uncle invented this engine.
To bad they don’t keep these looking this nice at the compressor stations!
yeah, but they're still running anyway..
Some do, some don’t . The ones up in Kansas 20 odd years ago when I was doing this line of work were polished from head to toe. Brass shined and paint was clean and fresh. Beautiful old machines.
But will it fit in my Vega Pro electric scooter?
That governor aint doin nothing at that rpm
That would make a great air compressor for my shop.
screw compressor would use about 200 hp to do 900 cfm. yes i know you were joking
Dog is wimpering because he wants to pee on that wheel?
Look at her go!

not only is the engine huge but the flywheel is absolutely massive.
