BC racing says you can use a low-powered impact wrench and tighten until the shock shaft begins to spin. This apparently ensures that the nut tightened up appropriately due to the amount of torque those impacts put out if you don't have a way to use an allen key. I'll be trying this with my impact after work today to see if that fixes my clunking too. I noticed the clunk after a few months after install.
