Very True, Awesome Video Sir...
I remember seeing the autocut mode, where it's activated and the clamp slams down and the knife engages and comes down on it's own. Freak the shit out of me, when I first saw that happen. It still gives me the heebeegeebee's and it's been 9 years since leaving the printing game. Just thinking about it, gives me the shits. I operated the polars over 20 years, worked on some dinosaurs mainly and newer models, I never used auto cut. It was too risky. As a printer too, there was too much room for error, especially in cutting, one mistake and a reprint that could take half the working day to correct, printing, drying, numbering, collating, folding, laminating, foiling... I memorised most of my programs, I could work out a cut pattern by looking at a job. So once it's loaded up, I make corrections on my cut sequence,1- 2 mins - I'm off. I could cut 2500 SRA1, 250, 300 gsm mail cards, cut stacked on 3 pallets high to avoid bending for the packers and finished in 20 mins, pending on the cut sequence. Possibly 3 of those jobs in an hour including the stacking. Packing staff were always busy.
Yeah, after I first tried it, I never used it again. LOL
It's mostly for blank stock jobs. But if you are trying to press the limits of efficiency auto cut is the way to go. Ran both polar and perfecta cutting systems for 8 years and I'll never do that slave work again. Shit ain't worth the back pain. Worst that can happen is the air kicks on as it moves to another cut. You are fuckes then .
❤❤❤
@Jonathan Pickett
How do you delete a program even tho I delete it it does not delete?
I have never figured that out. I have just renamed it and over written the one I didn’t want to keep.
@Jonathon Pickett. Did you remember to mention to your viewers to remove/drop back the lower deflectors when re - setting/recalibrating the fold roller calipers? If you leave the lower deflectors in, you can sometimes inadvertently wind your paper test strip into the next roller nip. This usually happens on folding machines with smaller roller diameters like your Stahl T50/52. When you had re - set the rollers on your Horizon folder, were you able to re - set to the "zero" position the adjustment dials on each caliper? Stay safe and well.
Thank you Mark. I did not mention that. I appreciate you watching, and your comments!
