I am not very familiar with what Max King believes. I’ve never read any of his work although I do know he was one of the pioneers of full Preterism I believe. I’m currently quite content in the Mythical (bloodline) IO camp.

And the only reason Paul was called is because Israel fell and diminished. Romans 11:11-12. God will go back to dealing with Israel according to their prophecy, but not until this Dispensation of Grace for the Gentiles is over. Romans 11:25

Peter wrote his letters to the elect of the dispersion in the surrounding regions. He stated clearly that Paul also wrote to them as well in all of his epistles. Therefore it can be concluded that all of Paul's epistles were also written to the elect of the dispersion aka the scattered paganized "gentile" Israelites.. "Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless; and consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation-***as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you, as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand." 2 Peter 3 It takes time and honest diligent assessment to come to IO. If you are someone who is desperate to see yourself in the story then you clearly will try your best to not see it. But the honest ones see it clearly. The bible is 100% about God's chosen people aka the apple of his eye...Israel.

Moses in the final chapters of Deuteronomy when going through each tribe seems to hint at their ultimate demise in his prediction about them. I believe it’s chapter 30 or 31 maybe. Ignore the 5,000 crystal clear and logical portions that so clearly demonstrate IO is the answer, and sprint (and I mean sprint lol) as fast as they can to 1) an Old Testament passage that’s loaded with incomprehensible nuance and is completely unrelated to the IO viewpoint 2) Find one of the handful of obscure and oddly phrased passages in the New Testament that they think is their loophole passage that defeats IO. Between the IO clear passages and the time statement passages the evidence is so overwhelming that there’s no way to deny it.

Sounds complicated and tedious lol. But yes this would be a good topic to explore for sure. I tend to think the Roman Catholics altered it purposely with words like Gentiles and made it more complicated to understand, mixed with their censorship of it and their efforts to control the masses with it. Seems like they would be the main culprit and from there you have a branching out to include many different variations of that system of beliefs.

I'm going to be addressing this topic as I've taken what Jason has revealed to me on to another track. Here are my thoughts: The ripping of this story away from its AIO roots was first done by Irenaeus. The earliest ante-nicene fathers all thought they were Jacob's children. Irenaeus doesn't appear to share this conviction....and thus wrote a tome to make his case TO ROMANS. Now, the reason I capitalize Romans in this case is that I don't think they actually had any part in the original New Testament story, given what I think the NT story was about: it was a strategic appeal to the Hellenized World....this is not Rome, this is the territories that came under Greek control before Rome took over: Asia Minor....which then explains the Beast of the Sea in Revelation. However, even before this, i don't think the earliest composition of the NT even included Jews in its mission: "I was sent ONLY to the lost sheep of the House of Israel", and in the Prodigal Son story, Judah is still considered the faithful brother. But, when AD70 happened, I believe the Jews had to then adapt the narrative to explain to the Christians why Judah was destroyed instead of having the promise fulfilled to "them [the fathers'] children" (Acts 10)---the promise being the restoration of the Promised Land. So then that's when the Gospel of John was written, that out-of-place anti-semitic addition in 1 Thessalonians 5, the prophecies of Jesus in Matt 24 and Luke 23 (or 21, can't remember) about the destruction of Jerusalem. These are post-fact "prophecies" added into the story to explain the wickedness of Judah and their resulting destruction. This then explains the beast of the land in Revelation and also why they all turn on Babylon where Jesus was Crucified (Jerusalem). Anyway, I'll stop.

I suggest getting a copy of "The Apostolic Fathers" by JB Lightfoot....you can see that AIO is still very prevalent in the letters of Clement, Ignatius, Polycarp, the Shepherd of Hermas, Barnabas, etc. It's not a long text; you can read it in a few hours (and I'm a very slow reader). These are accepted to be the texts closest after John and Revelation. But pretty quickly, you reach Irenaeus, and he clearly has a purpose in reorienting the gospel message.

@@NHNEU1111 yes I lean along that line. The return to Zion second temple period was what the prophets all spoke about in the OT for the most part. The physical return to a rebuilt physical temple on earth. It was all about a banner to the nations/ light to the nations for the purpose of calling his people back to their land. The New Testament is repeating that same theme just in a heavenly realm. A New Jerusalem not made with hands in the heavens. We see the exact same elements and all the OT passages being called to remembrance to help the readers understand what was taking place- that being God was once again redeeming his chosen people.

@@jasondecosta2349 I’m intrigued by this interpretation and will have to study it more before I come to a conclusion but I definitely think there are too many coincidences with the historical events around the return from Babylon to Antiochus IV in Daniel’s 70’weeks to extend them past 164 BC it’s actually pretty simple and straight forward: 7 weeks (49 years or 7 Jubilees) = roughly the time from the fall of Jerusalem in 586-539 to when Cyrus (an anointed one”) liberated the Jews from captivity 62 Weeks (434 years) = almost exactly the amount of time from Jeremiah prophesying in 605 BC till Onias III (an anointed one) was cut off in 171 BC 1 Week - 4 years after Onias is killed Antiochus IV sets up the AOD and 3 years after that the Temple is restored by the Macabees in 164 BC (171-164)
