I use Tyvek Housewrap as a footprint, cost me less than a tenner.
Such a lovely hike my friend, place looks so enjoyable! Love it 🥾🥾
That was great. Some lovely views and nice use of the drone. Don’t blame you avoiding that cattle 😬
Don't roll the doors up. Fold them in half, half again, and again, and then roll. They won't flap in the wind
When did you buy the tent? The colors keep changing, but the one in the video seems nice.
So as they say at the end of The West Wing, 'What's Next?'
Never watched West Wing! Not sure what's next in this country but I've got a week's hiking holiday booked for next year in Madeira!
@@oldmanwalkinguk6969 Never watc.. 😮 Madeira is, like Scotland, a bit hilly too I understand? Maybe a bit warmer though?
Watch some RUclips on hiking in Madeira, some spectacular scenery!@@IanGuest
"Disappointed?" But not only did you *see* a red squirrel, but you caught it clearly on film! The walk was worth it for that alone, surely?
Yes that was a good capture!!
So which of those fungi are edible then? ;-) Perhaps they might be on tomorrow's breakfast menu alongside the lorne sausage? Have any of the B&Bs served white pudding at breakfast yet? Where we stopped in Fort William was the first place I'd ever been offered it. Nom nom.
They say bright colours usually signify danger so I wouldn't eat any of them. No white pudding offered and not even any Lorne sausage!!
It looks like the diversion took the NCN cycleway route? If so, having cycled it sixteen years ago on LEJOG, I share your sentiments. The surface was also none too comfortable cycling on a loaded touring bike, though would probably have been fine on an MTB or gravel bike ... not that gravel bikes and bike packing were common in those days.
Didn't actually see any ncn signs but you could be right as I've seen loads of cyclists en route. Bit uncomfortable under foot aswell in places on the gravel tracks
Nice memories 🤗
You said there were no midges but are you sure you didn't get bitten by something at some point? I thought you'd lost it just after the diversion! Or was the heat getting to you?
Sunny weather at a comfortable temperature with a breeze to blow away the beasties. The gods have certainly been smiling on you!
So far! We'll see how it pans out! Forecast is for up to 26c tomorrow but light winds so I may see one or two beasties.
That was a great route. Interesting to hear about that boat, but sad to see it being left to rot 👍
Yes it was👍
Did you opt for clips on your tent footprint?
Hi,if you mean the clips that attach the footprint to the tent, yes I did
@@oldmanwalkinguk6969 Thank you!
Please explain where these are positioned, and how they clip on.
Thanks for the Quintcraft footprint info !
I am enjoying your content. Keep up the good work! My Durston, X-mid 2 Pro just arrived. I’m pretty excited to use it first time next weekend. Jon’s Dad RUclips.com/@JonsDadHikes
Добрый день! Где выпускают такие палатки?
China, but in the same factory as MSR & Big Agnes tents are made.
I’ve had two for 4 years the motor should say 250W de restricted they do 24km but the cable brakes may not stop you.Its a heavy bike at arms length 30kg. The rear suspension has some adjustment. There should be a 5mm bolt hole just below the shocker for a mud guard you need fat tyre guards. The derailleur is level entry shimano the arm bends easy if it goes inside the rim it was rub a grove in it. I upgraded to Altus. After four years the batteries are still good. The battery stops assisting after 24 klm the motor is not regen there’s little difference between 1 2 3 settings. They’re fun and I doubt you could get much more for your money. Although I paid £700 each
By the way, Dan Durston is from British Columbia, Canada😉

Hi Thanks for a great and informative video of the Coleman Chimney Rock3. I have planned to buy this tent and take it with me on a motorcycle holiday around Europe. What I'm interested in is how big is the bag with the tent when it's packed? The size of the pack is important when traveling by motorcycle. The dimensions listed on the Coleman website are one thing, the reality is another. I have tried in every way to find a picture on the internet of this tent when it is packed in its bag. Unfortunately I can't find a picture. You do not have the opportunity to post a picture of the bag with the tent, if you have the opportunity to include something else in the picture that allows you to reference the size with the bag. Really appreciate if this would be possible. My Best!
Hi, I've measured the pack myself and I make it 26" long x 12" across x 10" high. I have taken a photo of it with a size 10 motorcycle boot on it but RUclips won't let me attach photos. If there's any other way I can send the photo to you (email?) let me know. It is quite a hefty tent but I'm sure you're ok with the weight. Hope it helps
@@oldmanwalkinguk6969 I cannot leave a message with an e-mail address in the comment field. Do you have any suggestions for a solution so you can send me the picture?
I can't leave my email here so what to do?
@@peterandersson8000sorry,I'm not that technically savvy. The only thing I can suggest is something I did on another site. I spelt out my email address one letter at a time leaving a space in-between each letter and don't use the symbol, just put 'at', with spaces still in-between the letters and see if that works. If it doesn't, I'm at a loss I'm afraid lettesr
dont think im fit enough ha
The hike we did at Edale was harder!
i was been funny pal(joke
great job ally
Thanks
Stunning loved this walk, thanks for sharing that one,
Glad you enjoyed it
That was great and a stunning route. Was up there last year. Thought the video was really well put together also 👌
Thanks a lot!
Brought back many a memory of happy times spent out there on our running club's annual Turkey Trot ... the happiest bit invariably in the pub at the end of the run obvs! Also of field trips to Eyam with young uns, exploring the history you outlined but without the context of recent times of course, given that was in the 80s and 90s. The ring in the rock? Your earlier footage perhaps provides a clue - en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Bull_Ring_2023.jpg Time seems to pass at a more respectful pace out there don't you think?
For anybody interested in buying one I bought the solid 1P (of durston website) and bought the groundsheet and extra guy rop and it come to £300, then once it landed in the UK I payed £90 in custom/handling charges so £390 all together.
you can claim the customs duty back
@@GH02-o_o how do you claim the duty back,? Please
Beautiful nature places and hiking. Video Like 👍
Valley and Peak sell them, although they are all sold out, and they add around £100 to the price 😮
It costs about £140 to import them yourself ...
@@hnahler it's not that much....a small shipping charge, VAT, and then customs duty, and you can claim that back
Great video. Very interesting story of Eyam. I researched that some years ago as stayed around that area last year. Nice mixture of filming - no idea what those hoops are 🤷🏻♂️
Shouldn't a footprint be the same size as your base? otherwise water will seep underneath!
my understanding is the footprint is to protect it from rocks when not on soft ground. I don't bother with my footprint when in the UK hills. i use it when in Europe in the summer..
How long did it take to arrive?
Just over a week
@@oldmanwalkinguk6969thanks
No
yes
@cuprajake1 Well that's just like, you know, your opinion man
@@rbreiff73 I just replied to your no with a yes lol. Messing about.

got the same footprint. Excellent fit.
i will have some available next month the 1 person ones £315
where?
@@spare9434 my friend was bringing some over from America but they never arrived in time so it’s likely I won’t get them now till September I’ll have five to sell at that time
@@st1ffee well I'd rather find something my early September at the latest
Thank you 😊
Can you sit on a camping chair in the porch?
Yes you can. Could probably fit 2/3 people in the porch sat on camping chairs
one year no police attention, thieves you should watch out.
first thing I did other than bin the limiter was change the brakes to some cheap cable hydraulic versions, and then replaced the rear shocker with one I got from Amazon same as the brakes now looking to get some mud flaps for the guards as they don't keep the water off you otherwise a great fun bike.
Where did you purchase it from?
Its a great awesome bike mate i got fiido m1 pro as well 😊 done 420 milles
I've changed mine to a hydraulic brakes. You can get them at their site and it comes with the brake sensor. Highly recommend it!
Thanks for that, I didn't realise you could change them for hydraulic brakes,I'll take a look!
Palatial. Not sure the blackout feature would suit me, but I know some folks struggle with light in the morning. Does it have a footprint underneath the sleeping compartment?
No it doesn't come with a footprint but I bought a cheap one roughly the size of the sleeping compartment just for a bit of added protection
Nope your wrong you can have a throttle on an e bike in the U.K. as long as it doesn’t go over 6mph 👍 I’ve got the m21 had it about a year so far it’s been great but I’ve changed a few bits to suit me better. Nice to see Fiido finally shipping these out with the T1 pro tyres 👍👍
My apologies, yes you are right, I was just going by what other people had said on videos. Thanks for the correction.
I don't agree with lights on helmets. They should be on the bike only as it shows the direction of travel.
Oooo, pretty! I like! Charging by USB presumably? And how heavy is it?
Yes, usb charging and weighs 410g so not too bad
Hi, thanks for the first look of the tent! I see different graphs for the measurement. What is the length of the inner tent, is it 2.00 meters or is it 2.20 meters?
I like the window, you could easily fashion up a little flap to cover it, I'd just like to be able to see outside without having to open the door. Thanks for the great review, pity amazon aren't selling them at the mo.
I'm asking can Can be used for the very hot summer days ? Or the Star river 2 Can be better ?
I don't get why they put a window that you can't cover. Anyone can see you inside the tent and what you're doing. Who knows... they might even film it.
I agree, it's the only thing I don't like. It would have been better being a vent
Naturehike only shows a 2 or 4 person version now.
