The deeper broach on the Quinn deep sockets is nice. A lot of times you're in a spot and as you loosen a nut the nut can travel deep into the socket without forcing your ratchet up against a wall. Some people claim the Gearwrench style with shallower broaching is not a deep socket. That's obviously false, but it's a different style and both have their advantages. You could stuff some paper in the Quinn if you wanted to start a nut in a tough place.

I'd love to see them make more of a minimalist size case. They could have made that far thinner, less tall, and less wide by a lot. Others might argue with me, but on the Tekton sets the sockes in the bottom just lay in there, while the ones in the lid are clipped in. I see these are all clipped in. I actually like how they are loose. My prefference I guess, but it would be cool if they put the metric loose in the bottom with the ratchet and extensions, and then had the SAE clipped into the top. Then you could separate the top from the bottom and have a tray ready to go into your tool chest with the tools you use the most. For most people that's Metric. That's just extra thinking and maybe most people would never care.

I have one of those Spec-Ops sheaths too, and I really like mine. With mine, I can slide a Sawzall blade between the insert and the back of the sheath. I tape up the teeth of a Skil blade called The Ugly, and stick it in that slot just in case I need a saw. In the pouch in my kit, I have a couple wood screws, and a Philips screwdriver bent 90 degrees for attaching the saw blade to a stick handle, and some wire to wrap it up tight. Works great for an emergency saw that can actually do some serious cutting. Keep up the great work.

What ratchet has a worse backdrag?

A steal at 35$, don't like the ratchet? Throw it out and put something else in there. The included ratchet in there isn't even the proper one(facom/usag 3/8). I love the grip of the ratchet, many just got jaded by the backdrag 😂. Skipping the 20mm, the horror 😨. I think i haven't used any 20mm in like 10y 😅. Maybe used one for a AN fitting, cant remember. All the issued can be easily fixed, the tool line is solid. Just need better ratchet, singles and full sets. The line can be sold as a online exclusive ala tekton. Also need competitive pricing targeting icon exclusively.

I got this set at princessauto. It's the only place in Canada I found that sould v series. Started popping up in the surplus isle super cheap got this, few ratchets, wrenches sets and some sockets on the magnetic base. It's to bad the line died because other than the ratchets the rest of the tools were pretty nice

None of the Lowe’s in my area had any Craftsman V Series sales around Christmas time. It really bummed me out because they had some dang good deals. I was really wanting the double box end ratcheting wrenches. Anyways, I was in Lowes like 3 weeks ago just walking around looking for sales and I happen to see a stack of these 3/8 metric V Series socket sets for $35. I bought one and actually really like the set. I think it’s great that it goes from 8-22 with basically no skips. I just find it very odd that the store never sold these during Christmas sales but then all of a sudden has 5 or 6 sets to sale after lol

1/4 is giving me hell on the right to left. Cheap product, haven't used yet in a pinch.

I picked up the two-piece Husky pump pliers when I saw them for $13 at my local Home Depot. I returned them the next time I passed by. There was so much play in the joints that you could offset the jaws to their center-point! Would not recommend.

The best impact socket on amazon is the ABN metric master set. 9-22 no skips plus 24,27&30mm for $70 most don’t need sae sockets its a waste of space. I bought a set identical To it a while ago they no longer sell the one I have but mine has 8mm and 32mm they also discontinued another similar set branded kboisha that was 8-27 no skip plus 30z these sets also come with 3 or 4 extensions and a wobble adapter. For $70 its a great buy.

Good review! I have the 3/8 SATA ($15) and 3/8 Gearwrench ($34) comfort grips, among other quick release ratchets. The SATA is extremely low profile even with the recessed quick release button. Internally it looks exactly like my Gearwrench (non quick release) ratchet. I found that I like my quick release ratchets are easier to work with as I have gotten older with some hand problems. I guess I am gifted/lucky that I can literally just pick up coins with my bare hands. Like straight up casually; it’s not even a challenge. Not trying to brag or anything.. just saying, you don’t need special equipment. A little practice goes a long way.

Now if icon went and made the 7" or even the 4" sizes I'd be stoked af, but I highly doubt that.
