And to make it even worse, that student is a young kid with an underdeveloped immune system, which puts her at higher risk of infection!! It's about biodiversity and if ecological corridors make the dispersal of species easier. So the square has no corridors, than there is the two plots separated by one corridor and the control group that has the corridors that do not lead to anything (to rule out that the narrow area itself promotes biodiversity). It was done at military grounds where no one was allowed (so it was pretty undisturbed) and therefore an ideal location for such an experiment. Greetings from The Netherlands!

But in the case of the soil, there was a high chance that the porosity had been underestimated, since there was not time for the water to occupy all the micropores, which may have been blocked by air bubbles.
