11:04. Dora's optimism is exaggerated and phony. She's clearly just a teacher's pet, looking for validation that she lacks in her personal life. Also, is it it not common knowledge that people surrounded by pools of water can't be trusted? I learned this at a young age like many others, but it seems that you, Thomas, are either unaware of this obvious and unspoken rule, or have chosen to make an unacceptable exception for Dora because of the attention that she feeds you. I'm getting tired of being neglected, living in Dora's shadow. Good thing this outrageous lecture is almost over.
ok I'm back again because I just witnessed something completely unprofessional. At 8:54, In the height of the pandemic, you demanded a student taker her mask off?? And to make it even worse, that student is a young kid with an underdeveloped immune system, which puts her at higher risk of infection!! Please be more mindful in the future or I'll have to get my mom involved. Also, another good question from Dora that I coincidentally thought of at a slightly earlier time than her. Keep on giving her all the credit though!! I'm not mad, haha!

Thank you for your good explanation! The last picture about human creating islands is actually an experiment with several control groups. It's about biodiversity and if ecological corridors make the dispersal of species easier. So the square has no corridors, than there is the two plots separated by one corridor and the control group that has the corridors that do not lead to anything (to rule out that the narrow area itself promotes biodiversity). It was done at military grounds where no one was allowed (so it was pretty undisturbed) and therefore an ideal location for such an experiment. Greetings from The Netherlands!

As a didactic demonstration, this methodology may be valid. But in the case of the soil, there was a high chance that the porosity had been underestimated, since there was not time for the water to occupy all the micropores, which may have been blocked by air bubbles. Como demonstração didática esta metodologia pode ser válida. Mas no caso do solo, houve grandes chances da porosidade ter sido subestimada, uma vez que não houve tempo para que a água ocupasse todos os microporos, que podem ter sido bloqueados por bolhas de ar.

While you covered many facets and posted less organic industry propaganda than most recent videos, you did include misleading activist memes. You claimed there is no labeling when in fact our new 2020 BE labeling law is in effect this year and enforced fully in 2022. It should do away with the dishonest non-GMO labels. You mentioned that crook Percy Schmeiser as an example of a detriment to patented seeds, which he is not. Only 11 actual prosecutions for GMO seed patent violations have happened in the US and Canada. Glyphosate is not an endocrine disruptor. It increases, not decreases, biodiversity. @@popeyegordon Thanks for sharing! I did not realize the EU had made such substantial changes, or that a new labeling law was in place for the USA. I will have to update my notes and will be sure to correct that going forward. I am a high school teacher so am just trying to illustrate the complexities of these topics to my students, not necessarily take a stand on what is right or wrong. It is simply a brief overview, so unfortunately I am not able to get into all the specifics regarding each topic. Thanks again for your thoughts!
@@thomaspettengill9641 Obama signed a law in 2016 that is just now coming into effect after refinement. It was in response to all those state labeling initiatives that were voted down repeatedly. EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT GMO LABELING IN 2020 You may recall, in 2017 the government passed a national Genetically Modified Foods (GMO) labeling law to have one uniform standard for labeling GMOs, also referred to as BE (bioengineered). Congress passed the National Bioengineered Food Disclosure Standard in 2016. This required the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to establish a labeling standard for GM food. These requirements were originally set to take effect by July 2018. But the USDA extended the implementation two years after a public comment period. On December 20, the USDA released the official law, which they will implement at the beginning of 2020 and require food companies to comply by January 1, 2022. You can read the entire current proposal here. WHAT DOES GMO LABELING MEAN FOR YOU? In the near future, you’ll start to see GMO/BE foods labeled in a variety of ways. While companies aren’t required to use the GMO label until January 1, 2022, you might start seeing the new labels sooner. The rule states, “bioengineered food … shall not be treated as safer than, or not as safe as, a non-bioengineered counterpart.” That’s because research has proven that bioengineered foods are safe.
