Once you complete the main story and you have to run around the map and do stuff for 100% completion, then you definitely will require fast travel. It becomes boring after a point spamming X to gallop XD

I love how many people in the game just assume they can take on a witcher
Tbf there is a guy in the books who collects witcher medallions off of ones that he's killed. Ciri meets him and iirc that's where she gets the cat medallion she uses in game. Also Geralt loses a sword fight to the sorcerer vilgefortz and he used a stick and no magic. Witchers ain't that impressive in-universe tbh.
Maybe because witchers in game are to overskilled. Geralt from the games would easly killed 5 geralts from the books. When Geralt was facing even just 4 of enemies he need to be very carefull because he wasn't stupid Deus Ex machina like in games, especially third game
