Stardew Valley - Day 364 with Voiceover (1 Year Special)
Hello spellingkey!!!!
Well done all round A much smoother journey for you, and "we" the viewer...s (a Royal "we" perhaps..?)
Thank you! We are so close to the end, love the approach to the story, let's see what ending we get...
holy smokes you have the best farm i have ever seen! Good job
Thank you! ❤
That’s a lot of days
Yes, I am planning for a 100% completion before the end of Year 4 :)
An interesting question I had been wondering about myself... unedited with shouty-rage included, vs a smoother, and yes, quicker, version like this here. Gotta say, I did like this version, a bit easier on my eardrums... (& if I'm honest, nothing personal against that American sidekick of yours ... but his voice hurts my eardrums too. Just the way he goes "aaauuuuuhhh".... after every question you ask him, irks me 😄) ...and this vid being just over an hour - an overall better experience. Cheers, I guess. (enjoy your beer - you earned it. - Imagine a drinking game to do with taking a shot everytime that American lad goes "aaaauuugggghhhh" 😄😄) ~ I did miss your last one or two episodes of this...the shouty rage a few weeks back became too much, even for me, who understands how you feel (we've all been there). As Moss from The IT Crowd once said "it's TOO REAL, Roy, it's TOO REAL"... If you're not happy, it makes your audience (small though it may be) unhappy along with you (especially if they're something of an "empath" like me). But if you're seeing this project through to the end, I guess I'll stay with you for the ride 👍
I agree, I am doing the series as an experimental thing. I don't really expect anyone in any meaningful number to see it. But it being on the internet gives it an etheral sense to me, even if it is not the ideal form of myself I want to be contained, it is a container of my being. Rather like the AI concepts the series contains. Maybe an AI will be trained on RUclips one day and now it will contain some of my mannerisms in some small, cosmically insignificant way, which in a vast cosmically grand scale, becomes significant in such a small contained part of itself.
@@bobnormal2552 I suppose it depends on what parts of this game most people watch "let's play's" for... and thus on what parts of the game most people like the most... It seems to be split fairly evenly between the story/characters, and the gameplay itself. As a _player_, I can say that over the years, the story becomes less important, and fully exploring all the different play styles one can adopt becomes the primary interest. As for being a RUclips viewer, I've seen most Deus ex playthroughs, since around 2013 or so The "blind" ones are always the ones I like the most...guides and walkthroughs are of no interest to me. But yours is at a higher level than most due to your focus on the actual philosophical and political plot points/discussions etc. Barely 1 in 10 first-time DX players spend much time on those things, e.g. JC's chat with Morpheus, so I DO like your take on such things... It IS tough getting the right balance - especially when one is not expecting a huge audience (I should know, being something of a content creator myself) As Paul Denton might put it... "just do what you think is right, JC" Let's see which Bob wins... Normal, or Page? 😏😏
@@MrEAus Thank you for your comments, they are invaluable. I do find the story, in particular its philosophical questions, most interesting. It is a deciding factor on why I played it in the first place, and figured... you only get to play something for the first time once... I think the story may be a bit rushed in some places, most likely where they had to cut a corner or two to meet release deadlines, but to me it is a testament of the strength of its main elements that I can overlook those parts and remain invested. You may like next weeks episode, trying to do that 'none violently' was very interesting. I may have to clip some of its highlights. I wonder if JC would act in such a way, we get to play JC as a player but I do wonder what he as a person would actually do, and why. Invisible War may explore that, but I would be interested in what the original writer had in mind as I recall him not being as involved in Invisible War. Hope you have a lovely day fellow, thank you for taking the time to comment
@@bobnormal2552 yeah, one or two people have said it would stand alone as a novel or movie Indeed, there had been something of a movement trying to make a live action production of Deus ex Instead, we got Jason Statham as the Hitman... I personally like Invisible War. The gameplay is arguably more fun, and overall it's a much shorter game in terms of duration. I think a big part of how we interpret/experience any game or art form is our age - the things we focus on and enjoy, largely differ depending on whether we are toddler, child, adolescent or adult. I first played Dx in 2007 at the age of 25... And invisible War I first played a few years later, around age 30. Intellectually, it was clear that the first game had deeper content, but the second game was an overall more "streamlined", shinier journey. Each were/are enjoyable for different reasons. The first game is enjoyable DESPITE the frustrations you've been experiencing, whereas the second game is enjoyable despite the dumbed down content.
no sound? ;-;
Oh dear, your right. It seems the audio bugged during the recordings, but it comes back in Day 372
So cool
Yoooooo
Sooooo last 9 i guess 🦖
Are you planing to play with mods such as ridgerside, expanded etc. As i figured out until now there are some new requests and other stuff you can enjoy. I would love to watch you play them.
I am planning to complete Year 4 currently, and then take a break to consider what to do next. Perhaps start a new farm or incorporate mods. Part of my goal has been to keep it as close to a vanilla experience as possible to ensure everyone watching would be able to follow what was happening :) ATM I am rushing to get the complete year of recording finished, so it can sync up with the seasons IRL I will take a look at those mods in more depth to see if it would be a good bolt-on to give a Year 5 some value :)
@@bobnormal2552 I love the way you play 'cause you're not in a hurry. So it's a good plan, I'm waiting for the rest 😌💃
2nd year? U cheat Hard dude
It is year 4 my guy
@@bobnormal2552 okay okay, but you're still a bit too far for me😄
Good job you got like 8k views in 2 weekw
Btw this is noah
Howdy, it seems people like the no commentary Stardew Valley content, it is probably relaxing for folk, what do you think? 🧠
1:00:40 "I'm only playing for another 30 minutes" 😄😄
Hey I don't know, if you know this trick, but you can put a keg outside of a shed and fill it at the same time as the kegs inside. This way you don't have to go inside to check if they're ready :)
That is a great point! I will see if that can be incorporated...
I am in spring year 3 and total earnings is 13,000,000 :)
💰🤑💸
Around 19 minutes and 37:30, audio gets really fucked too.
Strange, unsure what causes that 👂I will look into it
Audio gets fuzzed up at the 8:50 mark.
bro 1.6 is crazy
1.6 certainly gives us a lot to do!
I am also at the year 4 but damn girl how have you been playing this game 😂 my total money is 7 million and i count myself rich
There are some general points, such as prioritising the valuable crops and ensuring you process things before you sell them, but I just play to have a nice routine :) Money comes naturally over time, so as long as you are making enough money to do what you want to do, you are as rich as you can be
@@bobnormal2552 yes you are right, having fun is the main thing here. Your farm looks so good 💝
YOU CAN CALL PEOPLE?!! How do we get the phone?
robin
@@jaozzeraa thx for answering 🧚♀️
As Jaozzeraa says, you can buy a red phone from Robin which allows you to call merchants to see their prices. You can also receive calls as a random event, which are usually just for funny interactions. I heard someone kept a phone in their inventory so they could call someone from anywhere, but I prefer the inventory slot
@@bobnormal2552 thank uuuu
Would suggest lower the game music sound an unsure what mic you using, but your voice is getting lost and having to compensate by upping my volume but music sound makes me not wanting to do that
I need to rebalance my voice, thanks for the highlight. I usually don't use voice but I will probably make more voiced videos in the future
Wow ur farm is looking great
Thank you!
It's my new daily routine to watch your videos keep it up!
I try to do a Stardew day, every day - so I will hope to keep up to your daily routine :)
loved your videos :)
Thank you!
18:48😂😂
Indeed!
amazing but i hate to keep alot of things in my house
I will need to move some things out, but I think it can be good for quick processing items like coffee, beer, pale ale, etc.
Hey Bob, can you play Yuppie Psycho? Its my fav
I will take a deeper look into it :)
ur house is so cute
Thank you!
Which farm is this?
This is the basic farm/standard farm layout. The first one in the list
@@bobnormal2552 thank u for answering 🏃♀️🏃♀️
How did you play for so many days without getting bored? 😂
You have to set goals for yourself to keep moving forward, getting these videos out for you guys keeps me motivated 8)
I hope you get to better places. @@bobnormal2552
Sis and I are watching :D Want to let you know that the music is louder than your voice. We cant hear what you are saying.
Oh, that is not so good! Thanks for pointing it out. I don't usually use my voice in the Stardew recordings, so next time I will need to remember to boost my voice! Hope you have a lovely day!
how long you have been playing this?
My file reads... ooof maybe 100+ hours in the save
@@bobnormal2552 I just started this game so far I love it.
Oh great farm I like it did you put base the chest resepie from robin for the bigger chest it's takes vooper bars and wood mu h more space

Thank you! We are on Year 4 at this time now, haha
The plasma gun is mostly shit, I have to admit (other than looking nice - and it'll be good if JC can return it to Doomguy next time they meet, so that Doomguy can add his BFG9000 modification and make the weapon NOT shit). However, you COULD use it as an alternate way to open locked doors, instead of the GEP gun. ~ Overall, another entertaining episode, dude... you're far from the only one to get shouty-mad at a computer game...including this one... Sure, many hold Deus ex in high esteem and all that, but it's not as though anyone ever thought it was _perfect - FAR FROM IT._ The recent versions, like GMDX and Revision, have corrected most of the worst aspects that you've been swearing about in your playthrough. (I, for one, can't "go back" to the vanilla version anymore, that's for sure) Just giving us 3 quicksave slots rather than one, is quite a help on its own.
Thank you for your comments! It can get frustrating, but in general I find the game rather enjoyable (until I am enraged, lol)
20:40 There was some loot accessible by 'touching' that skull in Nicolette's bedroom 43:14 There is another vent to crawl through (for two more lockpicks and alternate access to the main room), but somehow you just didn't 'mouselook' in the right direction - but no biggie ~ As for taking down MJ12 commandos, yes, it takes a bit of experimentation, and yes, it depends on which augs and skills have been maxed (low-tech, combat strength etc). I'm not sure if there is an easy way to one-shot knock them out unfortunately (plus, it's been a long time since I played the relatively vanilla version you seem to be on). Yes, avoidance is easiest (they're just humans inside, so the organic cloak mod would be needed (or thermoptic camo). ~ MiBs/WiBs are more susceptible to the stun prod than the baton, but, again, max skill level helps. ~ Just generally, it also might behoove you to distract (humanoid) hostiles by shooting a dart at a far wall, so that they look at where they heard the sound, & you can sneak past them.
My colleague suggested just this recently! I think I use it a few times to get them to look the other way for a bumbuzz
first
Dude why dont you have a description on your channel?
I do! Would you suggest something else?
Just found this channel. Gonna start from the beginning of the stardew valley vids. Wish me luck
Haha you are in for the long haul!
All in all, not bad... you finally got through those frickin' Catacombs... I would say those areas are right up there as the toughest in the game (tougher than the final areas even - and yes, of course, as you said yourself, even HARDER when trying to stay nonlethal. ~ Just regarding the 'money' in the game...the reason the Nightclub had so many people you could potentially pay money to, is because the devs must have realised 'oh shit, the end of the game is coming up, players have probably been hoarding their credits... let's give them some opportunities to actually spend'em'... And just so you know, there are only two more people who'll ask for money from you in the game. One (more) in France, and one in the final area. So you don't need to worry about credits after that point.
2:58:04 France puts the "cat" into "catacombs"...😄😄 (Oh, and, extra 'word to the wise'... that giant robot you were rocketing at the start of Paris actually doesn't need to be taken out - it's not a threat to you)
1:45:50 It's rare that one finds oneself without ANY melee tools for breaking open crates...but another option you can try is to simply pick up a crate, and drop it from a high point down onto some lower ground - it should just shatter on impact, but just in case it doesn't, you could then jump down onto it (with F7 if from a substantial height). Additionally, in environments where there are fire barrels, you can throw crates onto those, to set them on fire.
Haha I figured, just wanted to have some fun doing a distant strike to play with the GEP which I like the most besides the Prod or Dragons Sword
As a noob i have no idea of what is going on in your farm but it looks cool
Thank you! It is just a diary of sorts, but I am glad someone saw it and thought it looked as cool as I did :)
47:07 For a nonlethal run, the sniper rifle, or for that matter almost any rifle/pistol with a scope can be used to target the nonvital _body parts_ of hostile organics... e.g. their arms/legs (not sure if it works on MJ12 commandos) If done right, they will drop their weapons and run away once they're sufficiently injured, and no longer be a threat to you (other than perhaps pressing an alarm). This might be a suitable compromise...getting proper benefit out of your scope/s AND remaining technically nonlethal, by not aiming for their heads. (& it should be easier to pull off, if you're in a decent hiding spot, and from a distance - and there aren't hostages involved).
Certainly a consideration. These guys are trying to kill me after all! It's still pacifism if it doesnt leave any marks 8)
you can press tab instead of opening your inventory every time you need something that's not in the first bar
3:16:13 This is one situation where the scrambler grenade would've not only been helpful, but also rather amusing You could throw one at one (or both) of the spiderbots, then they would start attacking Maggie Chow FOR YOU...😄
I'd do better if I dropped the huge plasma gun, lol
@@bobnormal2552 I'll be honest, I haven't played with the Plasma gun a whole lot myself, so I'm kinda neutral about them... I'm not overly for OR against them 🤷♂ They're mainly good against _groups_ of organics (which you're trying not to kill for the most part) The GEP gun can use White Phosphorus rockets (rarer to find) - with a large splash damage effect, vaguely similar to Doom's BFG... so use sparingly, say, just on the greasels and karkian creatures), and keep a safe distance yourself 😉😉 Also, if you look at the Image in your game's interface of Walton Simons, which details all the attacks he is resistant to...well, the MJ12 commandos are mostly the same
@@MrEAus Your knowledge is vast, thank you for sharing! I have taken an odd fondness to this Plasma Gun, and carry it around like a precious heirloom. I really should discard it but I couldn't bear the thought. I choose it over all my battery cells, lol.
@@bobnormal2552 Cheers lad Yeah I've played this game once or twice in me time, it's safe to say 😏 (as well as Invisible War, which I actually think is still a perfectly decent game, though yes, with console-limited game maps. Perhaps not a worthy sequel to the "original and best" first game, but if it didn't have the words Deus ex in the title, is still a fun game in its own right. And given it was made a couple years later, it might have a slightly easier learning curve for people used to "modern gaming" such as yourself 🤔 You mentioned your viewers being entertained by the "cockups" in this game's episodes - well the next game would be even more entertaining 😉 (But also less infuriating for you - almost everyone I've seen play Inv War expecting it to be shit, actually ends up having a blast)
2:46:10 in more recent mods (e.g. Revision) they've changed that misleading blue text saying "SAVING" to "CACHING"
Yes, I keep thinking it has saved on a subconscious level, you have nearly caught up to my current placement too! I release a new episode each week
@@bobnormal2552 On Saturdays your time, I gather..? (I"m down in Australia, in case you're curious 🙂) Another random tip: regarding lighting your surroundings... Aside from the standard light augmentation, which as you say, uses BioEnergy (though not very much, so I wouldn't worry about that) - you can also use the Dragon Sword like a mini-torch; Additionally, you can also find Flare darts for your crossbow. The game does give you a reasonable quantity of them, and they're really not much use for anything else, so you don't need to worry about conserving the "ammo" Also, once you don't need the light anymore, the darts themselves can be retrieved (just like misfired tranq darts) - after which they'll just be added to your regular dart ammo supply
@@MrEAus I noticed the Dragon Swords glowstick like effect and use it, but I did not know flame darts can be used the same. That is some good info! Reminds me of the flares in XCOM which can be rethrown to move the light by opening the inventory and grabbing it from the ground :)
@@MrEAus Yes I play on Saturdays, its cool to see the internet has been able to connect my footage with yourself all the way in Australia. The world has grown smaller and brought the people closer together, but as this game shows this technology could be used by people who mean to harm us. It is the story that interested me in playing the game :) I do believe the gameplay is pretty good for the time it came out, but it can be a bit clunky/outdated at times. Some of it is certainly my own lack of skill though, so I hope enjoyment can be found when I display frustration :)
Also - if you can Prod charge or Tranq dart Men in Black, they won't explode (and you can loot them). I gather you were starting to lose faith in the effectiveness of tranq darts in the last episode, but if you save them up to use ONLY on Men in Black, then... when they're stunned (ideally in a gas cloud which lasts longer), you can pump say, 5 or 6 tranqs into them at a time, then hide...that should work (This is one use for the Targeting enhancement augmentation, which I'm presuming you encounter in an upcoming episode. You can focus it on a darted MiB to see how quickly its health decreases.) Tranq darts will even take down MJ12 commandos - again, pump plenty into 'em and just ... wait 🤷♂
There is a part later on where frustration mounts to high levels trying to deal with MJ12 commandos without killing them :) I ended up thinking they were immune to them, but we get past regardless... somehow
19:08 The thing about the baton is that it's really not meant to be used for 'frontal' assaults (unlike in real life 😄) ...it mainly excels as a stealth attack _from behind_ ...and given that when done right, it's _already_ a one-shot takedown, I guess that's why the Low-Tech skill level doesn't really improve it... as it would soon become "o-p" (overpowered) Another tactic you might want to consider (especially for a nonlethal run) is adding pepper spray to your toolbelt - AND/OR fire extinguishers 🧯(found in the environment e.g. on walls) They are both quite good as: 1. mini versions of the gas grenades - so e.g. can stun organic hostiles (including Men in Black) 2. laser "defeat-ers"... to help you go through a laser barrier without using multitools or stacking metal crates - (takes some practice but it's do-able😉)
I did not know I can use fire extinguishers in that way. Unfortunately some people have died in this run, but I think its suitable for me to continue the spirit behind it
@@bobnormal2552 No, it's certainly not an intuitive idea (at least to me - though apparently it's done in a movie or two, maybe James Bond or something like that 🤷♂) Crouch, aim a spray at the lowest laser, then 'circle-strafe' past it, maintaining the spray the entire time until you're fully through it
2:48:12 Not that it's a big deal given how rarely the Conversation log is needed, but an extra tip would be, that the column headers (Contact, Location, and Type) can be clicked to "order" the list in different ways (like in Windows Explorer) ... e.g. by Character names alphabetically...
