What unique ingenuity
I'm still not convinced it's genuine. Would a ball make that sound, or just the clunk you can actually hear under the note? Just dropping into the bar would damp the sound wouldn't it? I'm not convinced. It's somebody playing and synching to the video.

What a waist of everything
BRAVO, GREAT JOB !

Wow. The effort they put into making a commercial.
A lot of people saying how amazed they are at the patience required and how only the Japanese would be capable of this. Nonsense! If you are an artist of any kind and you are given the funds then you will have the patience for just about anything. It´s called a "job". People in every line of work go day after day and work on less creative and interesting things than this...In my opinion, THAT requires real patience and dedication! Creative work is easier, because its also FUN!
Anyone knows what the names of the artists who made this installation are? The only info I find is that the creative director for this is Morihiro Harano.
Well done.
This is amazing!
Can someone who reads Japanese tell me how long it took to put this thing together?
My hat is off to the people who had the patience to make this commercial and to the Japanese people in general who can weather any storm and look so darn cute whilst doing so :D
Mori no mokkin! This is an awesome device and an awesome commercial. Stylized expressions like "Teiku waan" and "okei" have always entertained me while providing a little head scratching sociologically. Like hearing a Western director faux-unconsciously saying, "Jya...sutaato!" Excellent stuff from excellent people.
Fascinating to see how it evolved! It's a work of art!
@ponybcurtis Yup. The Japanese will only care to make big things like this.
I wish I had the patience of the Japanese. Thanks for the sharing the Vid.
funky!! thanks.. christophercopywriter

Brilliant - a real pice of art. Full praise to everyone involved on this masterpiece!
Truly a masterpiece!
Truly, I can't see anyone but the Japanese having the patience and precision to pull something like this off. Masterful.
