4 Tips for Sewing Silky, Slippery Fabrics!
Thank you I have the same machine. When i back off the small wheel to do a bobbin the needle stays moving. Do you have any suggestions. I don't have the manual. Thank you
If you turned the small wheel on the side and it didn’t disengage, I don’t know. See if there is a good machine mechanic in your area who knows about vintage machines.
@jenntydesigns662 well im in the rabbit hole now so im going deeper tomorrow. Its an attic find so today i figured out the electric tomorrow its the clutch. Thanks
Great tip!
Where can I get the books from
Both are available on Amazon
Where can I get the books from
Ahhh, but that first book doesn’t come so highly recommended. There are way better books…..so I’m watching!
It helped me a lot as a beginner. Not for everybody though.
A walking foot is great, also known as twin feed foot
I love using a walking foot on heavy fabrics!
Is not sad there is no sewing or cooking classes in schools in California ? I can not imagine my life without the ability to sew. It has come in handy for the last 50 years .
That is unfortunate! Hopefully parents and grandparents are teaching their children these skills. I was blessed to have sewing classes in my Missouri public high school education.
If you did this on a regular basis your finger nails would be a problem ha...but you did well avoiding breaking them while you demo'd
Gel nails and other nail finishes are stronger than you might think. Natural nails, yes. You learn how to move in order to minimize risk of damage.
Hi, Great video. My Mira has a missing tension check spring. I've looked all over for one. Is there a replacement you know of? Thanks
No, I know the basics of caring for my machine model but I’m not a mechanic. There are some Necchi groups on Facebook that you could ask.
i think yhink my machine would explode if i tried that
😂😂😂
Wow I need to 3d print one of these for my grandma
Great demonstration on how to overcome this annoying problem!
Wow! That's amazing!!!! Thanks for sharing. This is always a problem for me!!! Where can you get it?
Search “hump jumper” on Amazon. Only about $3
Im just trying to get into making my own sewing projects and this is reallt beautiful and inspiring
Glad it inspired you! Keep it up!
Great job
Thanks!!
You're a genuine
The last one is my favorite!!!
@@samannieestriplet my conclusion was that I prefer the light green to look at, but the vivid green made my eyes pop! Ended up using the vivid green
Cuteee
Thank you 😊
Very detailed
Thanks!
If you have to choose between the two id chose the first. If you can get something else id go for a darker shade of green that is not as blue leaning as the second fabric
I ended up going with the vibrant one because the I had more yards of it and it’s for a maxi dress. Normally I would choose the subtler green but I’m going outside of my comfort zone with this a bit!
@@jenntydesigns662Always good to push yourself outside your comfort zone. Hope it turned out well!
the second one is so strong and bold, its my favourite, ofc it depends on whats the project
🥰👍
Thank you 😊
Welcome!
I took one apart not too long ago and i noticed the same thing well made id say
It’s pretty cool!
What about if the fabric has a stretch to it?
Stretch fabric requires it’s own tools and techniques, and there are plenty of videos out there about it.
❤❤❤❤🎉
So glad you post this, I'm having trouble getting out chalk mark right now 😢
Yeah, it always works for me with the white chalk on dark fabric but not the dark chalks 😕
This was so informative! I am considering industrial sewing as a side job. Thanks!
Yaay! Glad it was helpful! I figure there aren’t that many videos or personal experiences shared about this specific job. Best of luck
I had a similar experience working for a big box menswear company's alteration hub. Had no experience but they gave me (immature skater/pizza maker) a shot, I just did pant alterations lol but still. I was sad when that hub closed. I think they hired me cause I was such an unusual person applying for that place lol.
Very cool! Thank you for sharing!
I love how you kept your smile the entire way through ❤ so happy youre able to share your beautiful journey :)
You look cute with short hair
Hep iyi ol
Glad you beat cancer! Happy for you 😊💖 and I’d like to just say you’re really pretty and that your hair at the end makes you look so cute
💕 thank you
Fun fact: hair loss is not because of the disease it is because of the treatments and medicine people take.
Poison that makes your hair fall out. And people celebrate it by ‘shaving their hair for cancer ‘.
The curls are so true, I went through chemo as well and I had totally straight hair but now it curls everywhere lol. Glad you beat it ❤
It is very common! Supposed to go back to normal eventually though. I’ve got a involuntary hair cut but at least it’s styling itself!
Clutch
Nice and helpful video. Great machine!
Thank you! Glad it was helpful. And yes, it’s my baby 😊
Thanks ❤️
No problem!
Thanks!!
You are welcome!
Hola como puedo arreglar mi makina necchi negrita cose arriba bien abajo me salta la puntada
Skipped stitches could be from incorrect threading of the machine, wrong needle size, wrong thread type for the fabric…. If you can’t figure it out, take it to a local machine mechanic and they should be able to help you.
Thanks for the advice. I have ordered the correct needled
That’s awesome! Hope it works well!
Great tips for knits, thanks.
No problem! Knits are tricky and I am still experimenting with each one I sew, finding the best ways to prevent the wavies.
Get a pfaff! Problem solved!
Awesome and simple tip! Thank you for shring.
No problem!
This is very important tips, I have been having the same problem. This is one great help
Glad to help!
Thank You for sharing this tip & trick. You had just saved my “money” and a trip to the alteration place.
No problem!

So you recommend a walking foot for satin?
A walking foot is recommended for medium to heavy weight fabrics. So as long as it is a sturdy satin, I would at least give it a try! I’m always switching out my presser feet just to see what works.
Thank you this is good to know. Enjoyed the beautiful smile.
Aww thank you! Everyone loves my smile!
Have you tried sewing seams or hems with a very narrow zigzag?
I have but depending on the type of knit fabric, it will stretch it out/wave.
