    Thank you I have the same machine. When i back off the small wheel to do a bobbin the needle stays moving. Do you have any suggestions. I don't have the manual. Thank you

      If you turned the small wheel on the side and it didn’t disengage, I don’t know. See if there is a good machine mechanic in your area who knows about vintage machines.

    Is not sad there is no sewing or cooking classes in schools in California ? I can not imagine my life without the ability to sew. It has come in handy for the last 50 years .

      That is unfortunate! Hopefully parents and grandparents are teaching their children these skills. I was blessed to have sewing classes in my Missouri public high school education.

    If you did this on a regular basis your finger nails would be a problem ha...but you did well avoiding breaking them while you demo'd

    • @jenntydesigns662
      @jenntydesigns662 3 месяца назад

      Gel nails and other nail finishes are stronger than you might think. Natural nails, yes. You learn how to move in order to minimize risk of damage.

    If you have to choose between the two id chose the first. If you can get something else id go for a darker shade of green that is not as blue leaning as the second fabric

    • @jenntydesigns662
      @jenntydesigns662 6 месяцев назад

      I ended up going with the vibrant one because the I had more yards of it and it’s for a maxi dress. Normally I would choose the subtler green but I’m going outside of my comfort zone with this a bit!

    I had a similar experience working for a big box menswear company's alteration hub. Had no experience but they gave me (immature skater/pizza maker) a shot, I just did pant alterations lol but still. I was sad when that hub closed. I think they hired me cause I was such an unusual person applying for that place lol.

      Skipped stitches could be from incorrect threading of the machine, wrong needle size, wrong thread type for the fabric…. If you can’t figure it out, take it to a local machine mechanic and they should be able to help you.

    So you recommend a walking foot for satin?

    • @jenntydesigns662
      @jenntydesigns662 2 года назад

      A walking foot is recommended for medium to heavy weight fabrics. So as long as it is a sturdy satin, I would at least give it a try! I’m always switching out my presser feet just to see what works.

      I have but depending on the type of knit fabric, it will stretch it out/wave.
