    Listen here chud. Polygons are comprised of vectors. Both sketchup and illustrator are vector based. However. Sketchup does not support circles or splines. Only straight lines.

    • @fosseli
      @fosseli 4 месяца назад

      Zoom inn and you’ll find a small strait line somewhere. Can also try: - laying the image flat. - Cutting it out (edit > cut). - Draw a plane in it's place. - Paste the shape back in place (edit > paste in place). If that does not do it. Select all, right click and select intersect faces from selected.

    Well, its April 2024 and the Follow Me Tool, in the latest version of SU Pro, is still as funky as ever. Trimble has made no apparent effort to fix it. I assume they're waiting for a user to create an app to reduce the "noise" it creates in the model. I'll be dead and buried before that happens. 😞

    • @fosseli

      Depends, both have advantages and drawbacks. Quest 2 is a good headset thats more stable and has longer battery life. Quest 3 has AR passthrough and crisper image (pancake lences and better resolutio). But short batterylife and unstable WiFi.

      Yepp. Download the VRSketch app from the Meta Quest Lab. That way you can send your model to the headset and aren't dependent on the PCs GPU as all the rendering is done locally in the headset. You can practically use a laptop for sketchup, its awesome. But also in the app you must activate passthrough in the settings.

    Getting my first VR headset, and was looking for software that would help me enhance my VRM models exported from Vroid. Does Sketchup support .VRM files?

    • @fosseli
      @fosseli 8 месяцев назад

      No, but you can use Blender to convert them to Collada and import them. You can just change the extension to GLB and import the file as a GLB straight into Blender. There is also an addon that will allow you to import VRM files directly into Blender... Blender also has a built in VR mode but it's alot more fidgety and you can't run it locally one the Quest, only over QuestLink.

    great tutorial...when i import my dwg, double click to edit the componenet and connect the lines it does close the shape BUT the outlines are still a bunch of short separate line segments. how can i delete them OR make them a connected single line? Why are they not connected to the closed and now filled shape? So frustrating.

    • @fosseli

      Select all your lines. Right click > Weld edges. If they are connected they should join together.

    • @fosseli
      @fosseli 8 месяцев назад

      You can also lay your shape flat. Explode the group. Edit > Cut. Draw a pain in the area it was and paste the lines back in. Sometimes that creates the shapes automatically.

      I have. And the biggest problem there is that they get so mindblown that they almost forget to look at the design. 😅 But it instils confidence being able to view and tour the design in 1:1. Especially, for theater they can see the stage from center as well as the top balcony. Mostly it impresses. And it's easy to set up and hand them the Headset. You can control their placement in sketchup.

      I hate it too, but that's the common model now. It's cheaper than most of them though. Sketchups subscription model is even worse with minimal updates every year on the desktop app. And their VR app is abysmal. I wish they'd go back to classic licenses. 😢
