Here Comes The Sun
Apologies everyone, I haven't posted anything for ages. Sorry to have neglected you, but my New Year's resolution is to work harder at my music, so hopefully I'll be more creative in 2024. This is your reminder that the weather can only get better here in the UK; so hopefully the sun will be on it's way soon! This George Harrison classic is a firm favourite. See you in '24!

Summerfly: Live at Stirling Folk Club. 21st August 2023
Просмотров 149Год назад
I don't often post live recordings because I prefer to be in control of all the sound and visual parameters! However, despite this, I thought this was just about good enough to upload to this channel. Me on Guitar and Vocals, Dave McLagan on Bass. Summerfly was written by Cheryl Wheeler. Let me know if it's not up to my usual standard!

Dude..... that was the best rendition of that song that Ive ever heard. Listening to you play it has inspired me to drag out my old martin and learn it myself. Your music touched my heart right at the time I needed it. Thank you kind sir. Lord bless and keep you.

Beautiful song I´d forgotten. Thanks for doing such a great job both playing and singing. I´ve added this to my favorite list. I´ll be playing this "continually" now for the next few weeks. The 60s were really full of magic indeed. :-)
Thanks for listening. I am continually amazed at the attention this recording has attracted! Hope you enjoy playing it as much as I do. The song is a little masterpiece.
So beautifully performed and a fitting tribute at the passing of the last surviving member of that wonderful band Gerry and the Pacemakers.

Enjoy your work I could use some help on my attempts at posting covers yours sound great OldGuyintheBasement
Thanks. I don't know what you are currently using but I use a pretty basic set-up. Some people just use the raw video from their phone. I don't recommend that. I use GarageBand for recording the audio, and simultaneously use my iPhone for recording the video. I marry them both together using iMovie (most people would use more sophisticated software) . I never use the audio from the iphone - it's not good enough and you cannot really edit it properly. I use a Scarlett i2i interface; a pretty basic Rode NT1a condenser mic for vocals. I usually overdub some vocal harmonies and maybe another guitar track as well. Hope that helps.
Absolutely beautiful !!! What an inspiration !!! I'm 69, playing since about 14. Been playing this in our shows.
Thanks Thomas, much obliged. I know we’re getting on a bit; I am 71, but still working on my playing. I am still learning and improving. Love this old song too. Keep it up 👌
