"You'll Find Her Name Written There"
Wow! One very talented family! I love their music!
Im Art Ogle and I'm a member of the Southwest Bg Club. We have a jam session ever 2nd Sat of the month. I play bass and never miss a session. Downtown Grapevine Tx at the Bapt Church. 11:00Am.
Even though my mandolin playing left a lot to be desired, Audie & I had a good blend vocally . Always loved singing Darlin's Last Goodbye with him or pretty much any other song we did. When it came to vocals we had each others back. 1:00-2:25
Bass player knows whats goin on here. Sounds good.
I love you guys and am so sorry to see David gone but I know the next thing he sees is Jesus Christ.
Love love this big guy...singing in Heaven now!!! His song writing talent was awesome!!! Love you David Dodd!!!
This is great. Wish they still would sing it at Colonial Williamsburg's Chowning's Tavern GAMBOLS...It was sung best by Taylor Vrooman the most beautiful voice I've ever heard in my "old" life. Taylor died far too young but will never be forgotten by those who heard the voice God gave him. Later, as they grew and followed in their dad's footsteps, his twin sons sing it almost as well. History ROCKS!
grass at its best
@jedmarum Mhmm, from one musician to another, that's the reason I appreciate it. I think the reason that I don't like it a whole lot lies more or less with confirmation bias.
@holyfire001202 I didn't actually botch the song ... I changed the song to suit the way I want to perform it. This is very commonly done by performers, usually without comment or apology. It is a natural process, and sometimes called the folk process.
@TexasScottishFestiva Really? They must have a fine and intelligent music director with truly refined taste! ;-)
@Mithrandir444 Thank you!
@Sonoraman Right on!
@DarkoTN ur a fail at life
@lazypizzaguy I'm Bulgarian and I want the same gift for my b-day. :D
he sounds like he's singing to kids .. ?
he kinda botched the song buuut, i can dig it when i'm not comparing it to the original
Fun and funny!
tough crowd
Well Done Jed…. you know how to tell a story.
bugger off ye trolls!
bad bad bad bad bad thats all i can say about this version he is mad if he tinks this is good

@sapper5036 thanks...i decided to just copyright the other songs on the disc and i just left this one un noted
this is how you screw up an otherwise wonderful poem
definitely a texan's version of the song lol
who is the original author of this song i am trying to copyright a recording of it....
cool song *scottish ppl pwn*
funny song i am Norwegian and i want a kilt for my birthday
@segano1 - This song was never meant to be Scottish - or reflect Scottish culture. The kilt and this Scotsman simply made a convenient vehicle for a bit of humor.
This song is not Scottish at all, it's just a stereotypical ignorant yank made garbage song
That stupid ditty, which I have already heard here in Scotland from several English, American and Australian tourists, is crass and racist. We call ourselves "Scots", not "Scotsmen". I don't recommend singing it in front of a Scottish audience.
Jed's a talented musician on a slew of instruments, as well as being a helluva songwriter and singer. Excellent job, Jed.
Glad to finally hear someone sing this. I've known the lyrics for years but never heard it. I'd never call this song "goofy," just very clever and funny. Can't compare Jed's version w anyone else's but I think he does a great job.
Its a Grey
NOt really bluegrass, this song anyway... It's an Irish traditional....
sounds great leah, mike, and gary
States Rights - Sovereignty - Independence! Remember, Secession: If it worked for Lithuania, it will play great in Dixie!
every one looks so morbid
i wish i could find the seamus kennedy version!
This is a great performance. Granted, the song is goofy, but Jed makes anything sound good!
God he's raping my ears, such a poor adaptation, such a chaotic singing rhythm, so so horrible :(
Love your poem!! Great take on the subject!! - Alex
I didn't like this version :/
Fun song, very well done! Thanks for sharing!
could use some more emotion. unremarkable interpretation of an amazing poem.
Oh? An by whom should the song be sung?
Being a Scotsman i love this song and to dispell the myth.. there's nothing worn under the kilt.. It's all in perfect working order thank you very much!
