2020 Dodge Challenger Hellcat Redeye Super Stock STG II on 100 octane. No transmission tune and you can hear it bump off the rev limiter in the video. The Charger has a good build on it and seems to pull hard on the upper end.

My 2020 Dodge Challenger Hellcat Redeye Super Stock. No power when stage II kit installed by Dodge, bad pulley they said. Then warning active dampening system kept appearing on the dash when at WOT. Next up the 100 octane tune would not engage after about a month of use. I only run 100 octane in the car. The hasn't seen 91 since the first week of December. The car is still hitting the rev limit...

Finishing the top end with a tune. The carbs were a pain as that damn needle jet (emulsion tube) kept messing me up. Once tuned I smoked the clutch. I hope this series entertained you and showed you something you didn't know.

I take the oil injection off and save it all because it can be added right back on. Its good to be able to put it all back to stock configuration if needed.

I never do but it sure doesn’t hurt to do so.

Also in San Diego, have a redeye charger. Was considering the Direct Connect Stage II install out in Temecula as well to avoid any state referals with emissions complianance. Though, based on your dealer experience and your car meet video lining up with the goofy gremlin decal charger on the freeway. Honestly looks like the factory tune doesn't pack the advertised punch. Would you recommend it?
The stage II isn’t a great tune kit. The car is faster overall but the 60 foot suffers as a drag racer. It is all top end. Only got a tenth better out of it in the 1/4 mile. That Charger in the video is putting down 1000 hp. I might be putting down 800 hp. The Charger is clearly faster.
Just got my first banshee love it wish i would've found this video 2 months ago just put a whole new top end in. Now i can do it and see the difference. You ever run any banshees with the chariot 2-1 carb setup that's what this is paid 700$ for the quad just had broken reeds lol
I do not like the single carb setups. If you want that top end power you have to run 2 carbs.
That was an enjoyable video. You are really getting better every video. What is Gary’s Model? Redeye or Super Stock. I miss racing because they closed Palm Beach International Raceway that used to be Moroso Racetrack.

The chiller cools the coolant for the blower and cools the air & makes the air more dense. Their is also a track cool down when the car is off for perfect air temperature on m Redeye. Every video you are getting better. Drag racing takes a lot of practice just like anything else you do.
Much better than your last video. Practice,Practice,Practice I just got my 2022 Challenger Widebody Redeye and it takes a while to learn the car,its limits,my limits,what it does in multiple ways. You’re doing great 👍. I’m 58 & have driven some fast cars & been in some fast cars but the Redeye is amazing.
The trans tune doesn’t actually work. They actually advise it to upload the option. But they’re working on making it available!!
I never even got the option for the trans tune.
What's your favorite motor build for dune play?
That is a hard question. I think the 521 super cub or the 421 cub.

No adjustable timing plate or intake crossover?
No need for the crossover tube but it does have an adjustable timing plate on it. Timing adjustment is always critical for fine tuning.
All wrong! I had the same issue when I had Lodi CDJR install my stage 2 kit in my Redeye! Lost all boost and come to find out it’s a faulty pulley. You may have to settle for the stage 1 kit.

I got stage 1 and I got boost I’m not getting stage 2 for my hellcat I’m fine with 757 hp
I don't blame you. I wish I has never done stage II, was not worth the hassle.
Are the Athena cylinders any good? And if there is too much side to side play in the rod Will that knock out the wrist pin bearing there is no up and down play?
They work really well if you know how to set them up. I have a video or two on building them.

You can try a smaller head dome or maybe it needs new nickle? If its not ported for the 4mil it wont make the power it could.

Glad the dealer…. Fixed… the issue haha. Just had to tighten that upper pulley I bet. Or it was belt slip.
They had to replace the pulley, it was bad. At least that’s what they told me.

Yes, fixed under warranty. The new pulley seems to be hit and miss. Just make sure it has boost once installed.

I cant belive no one was out there. Ive never see that anymore. But i had the same problem about flat spots on power band. Belive it or not i geared down my front sproket one tooth and it helped.

Any updates on the Transmission tune?
Yes, I got a custom tune in it now. Ran it all day at the track and never hit the limiter and is shifting high in the RPM range like it should.

Most likely. Take it back in as it is under warranty. I don't think they test drive them after install.

How much power should the banshees in the video be making?
Hmmmm... 4mil stock carbs would be 70hp as that is the limit of stock carbs. A 4mil on race gas with in frame pipes make low 80s with my porting and setup.

When you put a motor in a test chassis, do you do a plug chop or is that bit about them bullshit?i read my plugs but have never chopped one. Does it really matter that much from outer part of ceramic to inner?
I do not do plug chops either. That just gives you WOT reads and you can do it without chopping the plugs.

Good to see the SS. Too bad all the problems. Are you able to monitor PCM input/output parameters w/ stage 2 e.g. Throttle Torque Source or see the tune files and values the way HP Tuners will allow? Was the time slip a PB? Looks like that extra HP showed up on the big end of the track. ;-)
Yes, I can monitor and that is how I found out it was hitting the rev limiter. All issues will be ironed out in time.
If the belt isn't slipping, which you'd hear or see rubber dust under the hood, my bet is the bypass valve is stuck open or opening to bleed boost. How do the AFRs look during a pull? Thanks for the info about loading the tunes, that's good to know.
No. The pulleys decoupler would not lock in place.

New pulley and good. It has more power, I just have to get the transmission to shift correctly now.

How does that new tune compare to the stock tune on pump gas? I know they’re rated for the same power, but I’ve heard they feel stronger than the stock tunes pump gas to pump gas.
Cant tell much of a difference on pump at all. I'm sure track times would let me know. I'm just running 100 octane all the time. No more 91 unless I have to for some reason.
