Gorgeous version of Body and Soul. Love this!
Unfortunately, this transfer is running slow.
@@danielweinstein5252 maybe the previous upload you listened to is too fast .. unless it's was originally done at 80 rpm .. if this upload is slow.. then all my uploads will be slow as recorded on the same deck.. will do a speed test .. when i get a minute
@@brians78s94 I appreciate it. The first chorus of this record should be in F major.
I love this version of a great number. Thank you for sharing this excellent post.
Wonderful to hear this again. It brings back many happy memories. So good you've used the original 78. The sound is brilliant. Can I suggest that you switch the Stereo/Mono switch on the amplifier to mono. It would vastly reduce the surface noise without losing any of the quality. If your amplifier does not this function then using a lead from the pick-up to the amplifier that combines the two channels will have the same effect. However, many thanks again.

and with Bix, Tram and Joe Venuti in the band too..as well as the Legendary Denver Nightingale on vocals
@brians78s94 I see that... Fantastic line up...
Great play mate, I even liked the piano solo short as it was, lol... 😉👍👍👍😎😎😎🎺🎷👏

Thank you for sharing this favourite recording. I love it.
Brilliant !! I love this post and thank you for sharing it.
I love that Channel...🤩✨🤝❤️
🥰🤩🥰
A CW classic! Great stuff! Ella kind of low in her range here, but she tears it up nonetheless, of course. I also really like the little tritone figure at the end of Sandy Williams's solo.
I am singing along with this one, I love it. Thank you for sharing.

Harold Arlen? The label shown says Ryde - Henry? This song was in a cartoon or some such, with tight female harmony. Great song. Not in Wikipedia ...
Ryde/Henry were the songs composers.. Arlen performed the vocals
@@brians78s94 Nice! I didn't realize he was a vocalist, although I had read his Wikipedia page. I've always just thought of him as a composer.
@@jazdumoz he's certainly better known as a composer.. he wrote some great standards.. as a vocalist.. he was average at best

I've always been surprised that there weren't more violinists in this era. Stephane Grappelli seemed to be it.

Can't beleive I never commented on this one, been listening to it and it's been in the playlist ever since you put it up years back. This still to this day is among one of the best examples of Will's band in 1934. One hell of an arrangement too.
and you've just reminded me i have the record... need to dig it out and give it a clean
