Thanks for another great Bible study, Janna Kay! God's providence is what stood out to me in this episode. The Holy Spirit impressed upon my heart the importance of being obedient to God's will even when His instructions come through government or authoritative figures. This is true even when the task happens at the most inconvenient time or under uncomfortable conditions. I just have to trust in the Lord always and know that He is in control. May you be blessed.

Janna-Kay, Thank you for hosting this Bible study. I appreciate your honesty when sharing with us your vulnerability as it relates to jealousy and the struggle to remember to rejoice for and with others. You're not alone. I believe our sinful nature (which never goes away even after we accept Christ as our Lord and Savior) predisposes all of us to tend to be jealous of others. In addition to that we have the devil who attempts to tempt and influence us in his effort to lead us away from God. I found it helpful for me to always try to recognize how someone else's blessings are meant to bring honor and glory to God rather than for me to focus on God's favor of them. As we well know, we are His vessels for Him to use to advance His purposes. As such we will all, at various times, receive blessings and/or favors just as we will also face hardships and challenges. Through all of it, we are commanded to rejoice in all things. There's the struggle for me...remembering to rejoice in good and bad as well as easy and hard times. May God bless you for your obedience to Him to share His word with others. 💜

I believe that God does favor each of us but He chooses, as He sees fit, any one or some of us as His favorite(s) for His specific purposes. This particular study focused on God's favor upon Mary. It brings to mind the book of Esther which is full of examples of God choosing (favoring) various people to fulfill His larger purposes. Great study session. Thank you, Janna-Kay. May God bless you.
