Most of the "magical" martial masters teach presure points as somewhere that the qi guides and how to stop the flow and so on, wich science dont agree kk it is the first time i see about pressure points as the real weak points in the human body instead of some magical stuff.

He was novice by MT standard. There no gym in Thailand will let this level student fight on any stage.

You sound like you are from India. I like that you are very critical about the indian influence on Kung Fu and debunk the myth about Bodhidharma. But in the northern KF styles I see some influence of Yoga and Kalari. Do you know the Hatha Yoga posture "the warrior". Think of that with fist and you have a typical northern shaolin posture. Also I think these long movements and low and wide stances in the northern KF forms are for stretching and energy development like in Yoga. For fighting they dont make much sense. On the other hand the southern styles the link to the combat application is more obvious and the movements have quite a different character.

Thanks for the historical reference. That video show a commitment to staying on their feet that is very different from the fascination we see with pinning that we see in many other grappling systems, especially the Judo based ones.

This is real Kung fu. Not even just with Shuai Jiao. Every style of kung fu has some form of grappling, some more than others. Most people don't know that because in movies kung fu is mostly shown with striking 🧠

This fight was in Denmark Copenhagen in 1990 The WT fighter was 18 years old and got his 1 T (Black belt) after this fight. I forgot the other guys school but he might have been about same age.

Now that's how you use Wing Chun and how i was taught to use it! Finally! I'm mostly Choy li Fut, but I will use WC in a pinch. My WC brothers would not let up on you once they start. Glad to see someone using it right. These other videos are just to look at.

I find it puzzling when traditional martial artists claim that their martial arts are superior to MMA. They often back this up by showing videos of masters defeating amateurs or by pointing to traditional martial artists who have competed in MMA. However, these examples fall apart under closer analysis. For instance, a master with decades of training defeating someone with only a year of experience isn’t particularly impressive. What’s more revealing is that traditional martial artists who succeed in MMA end up fighting just like typical MMA fighters, rather than sticking to the rigid techniques of their original style. They also argue that sport fighting and street fighting are different. One common point is the use of gloves. But if you break your hand after punching someone without gloves, chances are they’re already knocked out, which defeats the argument. Then there’s the claim about handling multiple attackers, despite the fact that most traditional training involves a single partner or a training dummy. They mention uneven terrain as a factor, yet they never train on it. They even talk about surprise attacks, but their closest practice to this is structured partner drills, which don't really prepare them for the unpredictability of real-life ambushes. Regarding "illegal strikes" like eye gouges or groin strikes, these are often just variations of MMA techniques. An eye gouge is essentially an open-handed punch, while a groin strike is simply targeting a different part of the body. These techniques don't offer a magic advantage, especially considering that MMA fighters already train to handle all kinds of strikes. Some also bring up the presence of a referee in sport fighting as if it’s a major difference. But referees only step in when a fighter is knocked out or unable to continue-by that point, in a street fight, you’re already incapacitated, so the referee argument doesn’t hold much weight. Additionally, real-life situations often have bystanders or law enforcement who could intervene, much like a referee would. Another weak argument is the appeal to tradition. The idea that a martial art’s age guarantees its effectiveness is flawed. Many traditional martial arts developed in eras where only nobles, soldiers, or elites were trained, and hand-to-hand combat was secondary to weapons. Most ordinary people didn’t have the luxury of training martial arts because they were busy working to survive, and hand-to-hand combat wasn’t as common as romanticized in these traditions. Ultimately, the speculation around traditional martial arts being more effective than MMA often doesn't align with reality. While traditional martial arts have their value in terms of culture, discipline, and fitness, many of their arguments about superiority are based on assumptions rather than evidence. In contrast, MMA continuously evolves by testing what works in real combat, making it more practical for modern fighting situations.
