    Why is the roman numeral 4 depicted as IIII and not the correct IV?

    • @WatchWorksMods
      @WatchWorksMods 3 дня назад

      this has different reasons 1. the romans originally used IIII instead of IV, later IV became more usual 2. Its used to optically to balance the dial (almost all watches and clocks with roman numerals use IIII, even most sundials) 3. Its used to prevent confusion with the 6 for when the watch is not in the correct orientation (i.e. lying on the table)

    How do you make sure the inner chapter ring is aligned and doesn't come loose?

    • @WatchWorksMods
      @WatchWorksMods Месяц назад

      On most cases I've worked with the chapter ring is held in place by the glass pressing it onto the inside of the case. In this specific case the chapter ring is held in place between the glass and the plastic ring around the movement. So if you don't get it perfectly aligned on the first try there are 2 options. I noticed you can rotate it by poking it through the cutout of the plastic ring at 3. If you struggle with that you could also align it from the front if you remove the glass with a watch press. I hope this helps, if not feel free to comment again.

      @@moshymoshno, it’s not that I find it to bulky or not good looking, it’s just that it feels like a knockoff Rolex Day-Date 128239. The shape of the bezel and case is to much lookalike of the Day-Date plus the blue watch face then it’s like a 128239. What tools out of the ones in the description did you actually use and find useful?

    • @WatchWorksMods
      @WatchWorksMods 5 месяцев назад

      I use most of the tools in the description, the ones I use the least are the timegrapher (because I switch watches every day I don't need them that accurate) and the demagnetiser, which is basically just for magnetised watches. Most I actually use the friction ball and the hand presser, theoretically you don't need most of these tools, many are just quality of life improvements. If you want to repair or mod a watch you might want the hand lifter.
