Thanks for your work!
OpenFoam is used to simulate gravity casting an aluminum piece in a steel mold?
Excelente, FEA with FreeCad, it is incredible. Congratulations☺
I bet this is a good video if I could hear it.
Thanks Michael, This is excellent.
Seams like FreeCAD 0.18 doesn't support the Addon Manager any more, so you need to download the package (the right one!) from git hub and place it in the Mod Folder. There are youtube tuts how to do it. Just mentioning in case somebody stumbles upon the same problem as me
For years Ive been undecided which programming language to be committed to....... Python =Linux, R.Pi, FreeCAD. Compared to the feature script language in Onshape, FreeCAD is always going to be free. Id like to know more on developing customisation workbenchs'. But what you have shown has opened up my very tired eyes. Thx for that.
Best video sir
Thank you for going over this workbench. FreeCad gets better every day!
Audio is really bad and unintelligible.
i think free cad has more potantial, teher is many plugins and can add freecad, if somebody can add opensees free cad would be good geotechnical analiysis software and there is an pluguin for sketch up making terrain surface, geotechnical programs need surfaces, there are too many free things but somebody should make them together.
Mesut: Perhaps that “somebody” is you. It seems you understand the problem.
@@ajarivas72 hello but i dont know programming thanks
it would be greta to have you on FreeCAD Discord channel discord.gg/HrhnvnE

Hi. Is it possible to use beam and other types of elements in freecad?
Discord channel for FreeCAD on Elmer's server discord.gg/HrhnvnE
Really well explained and clear, thank you
You have only made 3 videos but the quality of those is so higher than some other channels with 100s of videos. I have learned a lot from them. Plese do more on FEM in FreeCAD
actually, this person who has the channel already passed away. One of the most useful and best tutorials on freecad. Subscribed.
A lot of flud
guy i need help pls send u r email id
Everything's superb except the very low audio. I guess that's why a few dislikes, which is abnormal for this kind of video. Tutorials like this are very inspiring to do something useful! Hearty welcome & thanks for your contribution... expecting more.
CalculiX & Gmsh mesherare buggy & don't work the material list is also very limited & will not let you enter values, FreeCAD has a long way to go before it can call itself reliable & user friendly. You are better off using pen & paper to calculate heat values instead of all these buggy thermal simulation software programmes that just waste valuable time.
Please make more videos! Please!
Audio is so low to hear on the phone.
@edward so you gave him advice to install pulse audio on his PHONE, you know that right ? Maybe you should google it too.
@@joryferrell7244 Interesting, 1 year after my comment I barely remember what it is about. But I think it was towards someone who said that the original comment poster should install pulse audio on their phone in order to boost his audio. So no I did not say that, I don't even know how you got to that assumption from my comment.
@@EmiNNsoNify The original comment was deleted, leaving less context. I didn't carefully read your comment, either. ::shrug::
@@joryferrell7244 yeah, no worries. All good. Have a good day!
Thank you for this explanations. Much better than other examples
Thanks!
Michael, Thanks for this. I would love to see any more tutorial videos you might have. Especially with version 0.18 out now
Fantastic video. Thank you for contributing to the community.
Love to see that. It would supreme if thermal transfer could also be inclued in CFD analysis.
Waaw! Amazing!
why it is not possible to see the correct pressure?
Thanks for this great tutorials. I am new on this forum, so i tried to follow it step by step, so when it comes to results I don't get or be able to show the stresses and other calculated parameters. I have no idea what have I done wrong.
I'm going to try it. Thank you.
Great Video! :) However, I am not seeing the same FEM preferences. Under the FEM section I only have one tab: "FEM". I am on FreeCAD 0.17.7745 using Windows 10 64x. Any ideas why I am not seeing the same preferences? I don't have options for N and G mesh (assuming this is because of preferences).
I do not have the Add-In manager under tools. I am on 0.17.7745 Windows 10 64x.
Nice work. Open source FEA packages are very handy for independent researchers and even for institutional ones. Good luck!
Hello Michael, good work, this video was missing! Please can you give some info about your system (CPU, RAM) and the simulation time. @djdelta777 turbomachinery: please see here: forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=22295
The workbench doe not support conjugate heat transfer yet and will be very limited to turbo machinery. CPU you can use as man y core as you have. Memory about 1GB of ram per million cells
if they will implement turbomachinery analysis modules that would be interesting
Please consider using "perceptually uniform" colormaps. bids.github.io/colormap/
hi .. from where i can get this same version ?

FreeCAD 0.17?
Yes
Useful information. Thank you!
Fantastic video! Keep it up!
Excelent. Thank you!
Is now in the master brach an assembly workbench or did you rename the assembly2 workbench to assembly? At 2:26
This is master branch, just installed additional assembly workbench through ad-don manager. All the functionality shown is in master.
Hello Michael, thanks for taking the time to create this video! At 1:56 you show how to change the mouse navigation mode from a right-click in the 3D view. Have you noticed the new widget in the bottom right window border? It's called the NavigationIndicator and the mouse navigation mode can now be changed directly from it.
Thanks for this! Well explained, easy to follow and at a good pace (the first FreeCAD video I've watched where I didn't need to increase the video speed). I'm excited about the future of FEA in FreeCAD!
