I have what is probably a stupid question. How are you able to hit downshifts so fast? Good example being around 4:07 into turn 7. It's 3 downshifts and the tach barely moves. I'm struggling hard to get my downshifts done in time, and I've come across your vids, and the way you get through gears downwards is mesmerizing.

You stopped doing it around 9:00, but so many times you had overspeed on X-one at corner entry and mid-corner then had to check up. It was totally killing you until you figured it out.

Do you mind sharing what gearing you have on your 400 for Barber? I currently run about 8 seconds slower than you per lap. I know my corner exit looks slower than yours but I cant seem to get my entry speed near yours. Yes my corner exit slows me on the straights but I want to see if it's me alone or if gearing has any impact. Thanks great job!

I'm new to the bike world. Been a year since I got my first first motorcycle (it's a 250cc single from Bajaj). I can't help but notice that taking right corners is always a challenge. However, I saw how despite the hesitation in the initial laps, you gradually became more confident towards the 2nd corner (the tight right U turn) and ultimately towards all of them which was simply phenomenal to watch. The kind of improvement you showed during the race might take months for some people. This was an insane ride 🔥. Thanks for sharing.

Brings back memories of racing my ERS in flat track and TT in the mid 70's. I didn't road race until 1997 when got a TL1000S and then in 1998 won the Heavyweight Twins Novice in CMRA. I loved my ERS. It had a .040 over BSA 650 piston in it and Tom Sifton did the top end. Lightweight pushrods made by Tom. I got rid of it when I was at the San Jose 1/2 mile and in practice a Yamaha 125 passed me going down the back straight in practice. The next year I was on a Kawasaki 350 with a Champion frame, F81M transmission and a 38mm Mikuni tuned by Jeff Bratton.
