I favor the left hand except when using scissors. Those green handled scissors were garbage.
The Brand New Only Pentatonic Shape you need to Traverse the fretboard - copy paste
Here is another one for you sad sacks have no ideas nor creativity and willing to call someone else’s idea your own. You guitarists, if you can be called that, are beyond lame. I heard of the horror stories in music school and the ways students undermine and sabotage each other. Thank goodness I went to art school. Seriously, musicians are fkn crazy!

Guitar unCAGED - Chord Extensions
Просмотров 274 часа назад
A quick explanation of chord extensions and the concept of how to build them. I misspoke when I call the third in the second octave the twelfth. I should have said ‘the tenth’. The twelfth is the repeated fifth in the second octave.

Cheers mate! Even though I have no idea what the heck you are talking about these days I'm always glad to see you drop a video 😊
I don’t think I know what I’m talking about these days 🤣✌🏽 I’m going to try and grow my beard as long as yours 🥸
@@HandyL LOL! I look forward to seeing that!
Chuck Berry would b proud
I'm a completely self-taught trumpet player that plays with professional musicians every week. So I don't know what you talking about
Haha!!! Sorry for my ignorance. One question although? Did you play any instrument before the trumpet? I’m a self taught clarinet and saxophone player but studied the trumpet for a few years which helped in learning woodwind instruments with reeds. Messing around with the flute lately and want to get back to practicing viola. 😀👍🏽✌🏽
@HandyL I taught myself how to play the guitar... And I am old
I feel like music theory comes easier to those who are older or more mature. It can be tedious and boring if you don’t have an interest in it. Thanks for commenting. I’m getting kind of sick of the term ‘self taught guitarist’ being associated with lacking music knowledge and/or technique. 👍🏽
@HandyL I was 52 years old before I even knew there was such a thing as music theory, now I'm 64 and I teach music theory. It Don't come easy for nobody it just depends on how much gumption you got to put into it... And none of it has to do with how much you play
64!!! I just uploaded a rendition of ,When I’m 64’ the other day. Yes you are absolutely correct. Practicing and learning theory are two different things. I really got into studying theory when I was playing the piano regularly. Kind of can’t really do one without the other, playing piano and learning music theory. It’s so easy to understand and visualize it when sitting at a piano.
Cheers ✌️
I have this bow also. 55#
It shoots great! I just had to adjust to the shallow cut shelf. That was something I had to overcome and get used to but it only took a couple shots then I had it dialed in. Very fast bow! I was pleasantly surprised by how fast, and quiet 😳 it was.
I don't think it's better to imagine my guitar as 6 pianos.
I personally don’t see how CAGED helps. It Isn’t really anything unless you know the note of the root of the chord as you bar the shape and go up the neck.
It’s more about seeing the intervals pattern on the neck. The way BC is stacked above EF. The intervals form a sort of staircase that repeats as it goes up the guitar neck.
@@HandyL The point of CAGED is getting a better overview of the fretboard. This also includes learning where the root notes are. Then you can start seeing the different intervals. It sounds like you think CAGED is just a pattern and nothing else, but the pattern is only the start.
😢
recommend using a drum backing track or metronome when improvising!
Enfin un gars qui joue aussi bien de la guitare que moi merci je me sent moins seul 😂👍
Merci bien mom ami! 😃🙏🏽✌🏽
What is there to steal?
what is tab
Sorry no tab. It was all on the spot improvised. I probably couldn’t play it again unless I listen to it and transcribe it but still wouldn’t be the same.
It’s the major and minor pentatonic scales combined together in G#. Add chromatic lines flat seventh, seventh, and root etc. wherever there is a 1 3 pattern in the minor pentatonic box, make it 1 2 3 and use hammer ons and pull offs to make the quick runs.
@@HandyL thank you
Looking and sounding good my man ... hope your doing well!
Thanks big brother 🙏🏽✌🏽
Good afternoon my friend! Great to see you!
Cheers buddy ✌🏽
Very well played my friend!! Your Ibanez looks very cool!🎸
🙏🏽 thanks! It’s an RG470 DX made in Korea
I had a mint condition one back in 1989. I’d love that that bike. Unfortunately I rear-ended a Cadillac. I was an injured but the bike was a total loss. All my other friends had new crotch rockets but I had to shaft drive bike and my other friend had to max 700 Which Shaft Dr.bikes were cooler than theirs

Good morning buddy, good to see you.
You too pal. It got cold here all of a sudden. Summer’s over, a little older and always running out of time ✌🏽
First baby
Thanks for posting this video. I have the same guitar and have been trying to find out more about the specs beyond understanding it was a korean made hamer before the less desirable slammer brand was launched. I got mine around 2004 from the original owner, a school friend who got it new in 1996. I didnt play it much initially, the tremolo was over my head and my playing was intermittant. Got serious about playing a year ago and as i improved I got interested in the hamer again. Any information about the pickups you could share? Should i consider replacing them? Thanks again.
I’m the last guy to ask about pick ups, seriously 😂 I think what’s in there works, at least for me. The second switch for the added positions of all three on and bridge and neck on covers a wide range from warm and bassey to bright and plucky. In my opinion, I don’t think you get that much from spending a lot of money on pick ups. I can tweak the tone knob or EQ on my amp to dial in the tone I want. The only time I have switched pick ups was going from humbuckers to P90S on one of my semi hollow body guitars. Phil McKnight has a good video about name brand pick ups just being regular ol’ cheap Chinese pick ups with Seymour Duncan slapped on it. I love this guitar. I got it real cheap off eBay for like $150. Someone else posted some info about how the Slammer Series are all USA parts just assembled in Korea. For a long 24 fret neck, mine is super straight and no twisting whatsoever. It’s the most solid neck out of all my guitars. Sorry I couldn’t help on the pick ups. I just believe in a good setup and dialing in the truss rod. This guitar can have extremely low action without any fret buzz. Thanks for watching and posting ✌🏽
@HandyL appreciate the reply, I'll be more patient and explore what it can do with stock pickups. Mine is in great shape, I think I paid 250 or so for it which still seems like a great deal. Glad to see these great guitars are still appreciated.
Self taught?
Yes, but I learned the trumpet as a kid and can read music.
@HandyL Nice, great skills, man.
@@rangesstudio thanks! 🙏🏽 😀
Is this the updated Ming bow or has there been an upgrade by af after this one
I am not sure, but my best guess is that this is not the updated bow. Take a look at the handle wrap, it’s not the typical AF black leather. I would bet that the updated bow comes dressed similar to the Tatar, Turkish or other typical AF bows.
Nice to see you my friend, hope all is well brother God bless. 👍🏼 👍🏼
As well as it can be. Keep your Love light shining 🙏🏽✌🏽
Handy! So good to see you my friend! I was just thinking about you the other day....even went to your channel to make sure I didn't miss anything 🙂
You haven’t missed anything. Have been bouncing around the past few months. The house is sold, bows and all my stuff is in storage. I wish I had more fingers because I’ve been giving mine to the ex witch/wife/whatever. Wife and bitch work so well together to make witch. I bet that’s how the word was formed 😆
Sorry things have been rough....but you are wrong about me not missing anything....I miss you! I still watch you even when you post stuff that I have no idea what you are talking about! Lol Keep your head up brother...this shall pass. Head up here to Wisconsin! I have an extra room for you 🙂
The reason they were called a horse Bow. Because as the name says they had to be so. 30" some even less. So they could be accurately shot from a horse while galloping into battle. Without Bow being in the way of the rider or the horse . Their arrows were much shorter as well.
Well you were lied to. Because a horse Bow. When fully assembled?. From tip to tip after it's strung. Is 30" long ? So put the string on it. Measure it if it is longer than 30" Then you did not get a horse Bow You bought something on the style of a horse Bow. So congratulations you bought a name, not a actual product
I had one back in 1988 when I was 18. I used to carry backpack loads of weed from Las Cruces NM to Albuquerque NM 3 times a week for $600 a trip....good times and memories....
🤣🤣✌🏽
I also have an X18 52" 45#, but for the other hand. Mine also lacks any badging wxcept for the stamped on info on the back of the lower limb.
Wicked sick
Thank you!
Is for sale
Liked your range but my wife said hell no
LOL! My wife took some convincing. I nagged her for weeks until she finally broke down.
I have the same bow and I'm at a 30.5" draw what's your draw length
Used to be around 31.5-32 before I screwed up my shoulder.
Just as good and informative now as it was 2 yrs ago! Miss this guy!
Interesting 🤔😎
Thanks! It works great 👍🏽
The video is sped up abit isnt it? And how quick does it shoot? I have a 31.5'' draw so I'm always worried a little how much it'll stack
Yes, I sped up the video during most of the shots until the last few. 31.5” draw, no problem. This bow is plenty long enough to handle your draw length. I was drawing somewhere around 32” when I shot this video and I didn’t feel any stacking.
Good to see you brother....I hope all is well with you
Doing the best I can in this life I live 👍🏽
it looks like a plastic toy rather than a real bow. I think they should do something about the overlay.
@@serdarbas5364 maybe the video. In real life in front of me the custom hand painted design is very apparent. The overlay, or finished coating, is not very thick at all, which you would find in a bow with a more ‘toy-like’ quality.
It's such a cool looking bow! How's it holing up? Love the Metbows Track! DJ Shadow influenced? So cool 😎 bro
Thanks man! I haven’t shot it in awhile to be honest but the shots I did with it were nice. It’s a good bow, smooth all the way, don’t feel any kind of stacking or cracking or any other unwanted traits. Construction is superb and you can tell a lot of hands and not machines touched and built this. It has a soul ✌🏽
Just got mine delivered mate& it’s a lovely bow, it’s like peacock feathers( colours)it changes from green to blue/blackish in the light, the nocks on mine have been hand finished, I can tell, it’s all good so far👍
Yeah, it’s crazy how it changes colors. I thought it was just me, good to know I’m not going crazy it actually does change colors 😆
@@HandyL 😂no, you’re ok bro👍
Got one coming in the post, apparently it’s the guys from samick who went on there own
Yup, that’s what I heard to, Samick dudes. It’s a great bow! 👍🏽
@@HandyL I’ve got a few already but english longbow& recurves, I like the look of yours& another guy recomended em too& basically said the same as you, subbd anyway pal& all the best from Scotland man👍
Thanks Bru I really appreciate the sub 👍🏽✌🏽
I dig it 👍
Thanks brother 😀✌🏽
Wtf
About never using backing tracks or my crappy playing?
Just not sure what you're doing with the kick and high hat. Practice everything separately, then bring it together. There's just no rhythm to it know what I mean?
Right on. I was debating whether or not to upload this one. My other one man band shorts are better. This was the tail end of the session and I was kinda screwing around and all over the place.
Hell yeah man got more balls than I do! I've been playing for almost 20 years and I can't even let my wife hear me play.
@@kevinglander365 lol! 😂 My wife left me…no joke for real. Not because of the drums though 🙂
Keep practicing it’s starting to come together ❤
🔥🔥
What kinda cool axe is that?
It’s a Tiesco, I think. I have video showing how I modded it. I will put a link in video.

Wheres the bows handy? Where are they? jk i love reading music too.
A lot of craziness happened in my life the past year or so. Haven’t shot a bow in a while and not sure if I’m ever going to get back into it. We’ll see.
brought back a lot of memories, I had the exact same bike back in ‘83..Thanks!
I love this bike and I have worked on it enough now that I feel a synergy with it and trust it on the road at higher speeds. First time I rode it over 75 mph I couldn’t stop thinking that the wheel was going to fall off or some other mechanical failure that was going to launch me into the air or eat it on the pavement. They are still around and you can get them fairly cheap. I got this one for $600 off Craigslist 🙂✌🏽
I got my red XJ750 Seca in '86 and drove it all over the Northeastern US and eastern Canada, putting over 35,000 miles on it before parting with it in '92. My only complaint was it was one gear short...on highways, my toe was always looking for an extra top gear that wasn't there. !00% dependable. Never once broke down on me.
I do the same thing lol! Totally agree, another gear would help quell the speed demon inside of me 😁✌🏽
Very unique for sure
Thanks man!
Nice guitar too btw like that quilted look
Hamer slammer series, plays awesome!
