He is balanced like everybody wants, but there’s no character that truly is scary in this game even if they take damage, they aren’t unbeatable and the be honest I think what the new generations of people have lost by constant balance patching was back in the day. It was very difficult challenges that seemed unbeatable that push people to beat them and in the long run, made you a better player of play muscle memory, and all the above to finally figuring out how to defeat something that was a lot stronger than the character you were using everybody now and fighting games complains and bitches about patches. It has to be fair lol people have lost the edge and that regard it’s a shame really I appreciate fucking to hit characters that kill you, it made you a better player if you could beat them in the long run

I appreciate the title of this video. My following rant is from the perspective of someone who’s first souls game attempt was bloodborne but dropped out after not getting passed Father Gascoign. Raged and quit. Many years later after being forced to watch Game of Thrones and loving GRRM’s style and reading the books I heard of this new souls game called Elden Ring in collaboration between Fromsoft and GRRM and that it was to be an open world game. One of my favorite games being Skyrim I decided to give it a shot, this game sounds perfect for me. Played it and loved it and had 180 hours on my first play through. My first impressions upon facing Erdtree Sentinel was “man this is BS, how can something so obviously heavy move faster than me? How does he have perfect timing, why didnt i swing at him im locked on????” The usual fare of fromsoft noob complaints. I was frustrated and annoyed but told myself “yeah this is yow these games are thats the point!”. Anyway, fast forward to the end of my playthrough and i loved it! Everything. But one thing I couldnt help but feel was “i didnt really feel satisfied or gratified upon beating most bosses” everyone said that the struggle made the victory profound and satisfying. I couldnt help but feel that I always beat them by getting lucky in some way. Like I lucked out. Fast fast forward to i have now played dark souls 1-3 and Bloodborne and beat them and loved them all. And I understand now the internet comments about how the bosses were the weak part of Elden Ring. Never understood it because I didnt know what the bosses were truely like in the other games. Long story short, the bosses in all other souls games feel much more like a dance, a duel, like there was less BS. Even the attacks that arnt AOE attacks in Elden Ring feel like AOE attacks. Like from soft HAD TO up the antee cause its expected for bosses to become tougher. But the dark souls bosses have a special quality to them. The one thing i felt during Dark Souls 3 that i never felt in Elden Ring was: on the attempt where I took down the boss I had this feeling of “i got this, my timing is spot on, this is the one, everything is on point, ive learned this boss, he challenged me, but I know them now, i know their story, i feel bad for them because this is as far as they go”. Then beat them. It was a phenomenal IN THE ZONE TRANCE like thing i can not explain. I hope From Soft can capture that magic still in a future game cause the fact that so many havent experienced that feeling I did is a damn shame.

It all depends on the perspective of the viewer. It's not magic, it's supernatural. The electromagnetic activity of the island causes supernatural abilities to the protector of the island.

Exactly. What kind of a question is "what is the island?" anyway? It's a magic island, that's the plot of the show. Has anyone ever asked "how come they can do magic?" of the Harry Potter series?

If you pay close attention to every detail in the show, they answer about 99.9 % of questions, but leave a few for interpretation

lol chill out dude. I wasn't dissappointed with lost on the whole, just thought the ending was a bit weak and there were questions left unanswered thats all. I genuinely loved lost up until season 5 where it went down hill a bit. I guess that it wouldn't be LOST if there wern't questions remaining though!

they were saying since season 1 that they won't tell us what the island is. so i don't understand your dissapointment. But come to thin of it, they kinda sugested in the final season it's some sort of nexus of energy that holds all the world together, that the energy that is emnating from the center can be found in every living being, and it even makes some people special. try to watch the show again and pay more attention

I loved this bit. Lost had an awful ending people! C'mon! They couldn't be bothered to answer all the questions so they just pllayed some sad music while the characters embraced. And to answer the thugs question. No they didn't explain what the island was LOL

The funny thing here is that long before he mentioned the church and was rambling about answers and all that, I immediately thought of LOST. This very second I am up to this speech and I love the little winking nod. Mind. Blown.

While he was saying this I thought about Lost, but as soon as he mentioned the church I knew he was definitely referring to the show. If I remember correctly...some of the bad guys were talking about Lost as well.

Just played this part on Arkham City, thought "Wtf? Was that a joke about lost? Please tell me it is", awesome. Also anyone else notice Jokers camera man laughing at 0:34?

There's another reference to Lost; if you listen to the various goons around the place, one of them will eventually say "I don't get it. Did they ever explain what the island was all about?"

i have also overheard a thug saying: "did we ever find out what the island was?" wish i recorded it. i found this video by searching for evidence.

@TheGlobalPanacea I see the flaws of the show overall, but I had seen them in place for many, many years. However, your allegation that it all for the money, contained makeshift emotional bullshit, was "a ruse crafted to pull the wool over the viewers' eyes", "nonsense about the characters and the relationships", "[ it deceived] people", etc. What does that all sound like? Someone's opinion. Taste, opinion, all of that stuff; it isn't fact, and you can't pretend that it is either.

@TheGlobalPanacea Yes, yes you must be. I do everything I do without bullshit. Can't stand bullshit. Something doesn't turn out the way I was expecting? Well, boo hoo. The question I would then have to ask myself: Is how it turned out good or fitting in its own way? With regard to Lost, hell yes (even though it DID turn out mostly how I wanted :P). The final season as a whole was pure Lost. All of the themes, the characters, the plot, the mood all progressed smoothly from The Pilot to The End.

It didn't end in a church. And it was only set in a church because it was the only way they could hide the scene from being spoiled - as the bomb in the sub, island crumbling, and MIB's death scene. btw, this scene was written by a writer of LOST.

@TheGlobalPanacea Watch the series again. It was littered with answers. Sure, there wasn't a Matrix Revolutions-style sitdown at the very end that went on forever explaining every minute detail, but answers were everywhere. Watch it again, mind open, comprehension abilities at the ready and you can't miss all of the answers and all of the connections and how the ending was in every way relevant to everything that made Lost Lost. Oh, and neat easter egg! :P

Theres actually 2 LOST references in the game theres the obvious one during this cut scene, but I was trying to figure out how to do a riddler trophy when that thing you have that lets you hear the thugs talk started playing and I heard one ask another, "so, did they ever find out what the island was?" Though it is kind of iffy, the fact that I heard it before the jokers reference had me thinking that, seeing how there is already one in it means its plausible this is too. Anyone else find this?

Wasn't Dini one of the Lost writers as well? The network types sure as hell made a big to-do about it when they were selling Tower Prep to the masses.

This actually may not be the only LOST reference in the game. I have picked up guard conversation before where one says to the other something along the lines of "Did they ever reveal what the island was" and another possible reference is a number station you can pick up of the Cryptographic sequencer. (That one im not 100% sure that its a reference but its worth noting)
