I believe you're correct. An iPhone has to pass close by. In the UK the percentage of people that use an iPhone currently as opposed to any other make is approx. 44% Therefore if 3 people get close to it there's a very good chance one person will pick up your tag. If trying to tag your own vehicle it's a good idea to take the speaker out of the AirTag otherwise it will beep and notify the would be thief it's airtagged... Hence, my follow up post of taking the speaker out of the air tag. It did just prize out.... @ lol last time in at about 11.5 degrees felt like a freezer!! It’s a huge mental obstacle for tomorrow but I might be able to overcome it. Do you or did you stay in for long?

@@paulgabler1476 I got out this time before any odd effects because the time before I went in and stayed in a while my whole skin started tingling at once... odd sensation. So before all of that I got out and I reckon I was in 3 or 4 minutes. But really only do what you feel comfortable with. I think all the benefit comes from overcoming the initial body shock... So really you can get benefit from just getting in and then getting out :-) (I'm no expert).

@@roadtestpiloti appreciate that! i recently became the new owner of an 07 vegas, and it’s been going off and on intermittently, wasn’t even sure where the sensor was haha! so i’ll be pulling it out sometime this weekend cleaning off the terminal and giving it a good couple taps haha

I've just asked him. It's a 2014 Breakout. Not EVO but apparently they can be. One of my top favourite motorcycles... look so good and the Sound Oh the sound goes right through you. ABSOLUTELY LOVE 'em.

😂 it’s looks & pretty much the whole bike has completely changed at least 3 times in 24 years! Some older models had reliability issues… currently sitting at 17,000 miles no problems what so ever! Friend of mine has just reached 40k

We shouldn't have enjoyed it so much as the weather was a bit mucky and fresh rain lifting shit up from the road surface. But we did 😀

You make a very good point but I can report the signal strength is still perfectly adequate. Can't tell how much it's limited by the metal encasement but I'm sure you're right. Most motorcycles don't have a separate metal headlamp like mine... something that only occurred to me after I made the video, so not so very helpful, each of us to study our own rides for the best placement. Worryingly, Apple adapted these devices because of fears of people tracking their cheating partners without their consent which unfortunately has a knock on effect that helps professional theives. So, even these tags aren't as clever as they used to be. These days you don't know what's right or wrong 😖

@@roadtestpilot ya I feel you. Really bugs me how much they crippled them. I used to use mine for helping connect with my gf who didn’t use an iPhone (and Google location sharing kills battery like nothing else), and to keep tabs on my son when he went traveling with friends just in case. Both situations where it’s tracking a person consensually, but it’s not like there’s an option to tell the app or for someone to have the option on their device to tell the AirTag it’s okay to track them. They’re literally only really useful for keys and bags these days which is a shame. But if you already have them, you might as well use them for a vehicle too. Still better than nothing. Hopefully you never have to put it to the test. Ride safe man.

Something I'd like to add is that recently I've been getting insurance quotes online but there isn't a facility for me to add that it's got a tracking system in it. They let you add the type of alarm and or immobiliser but are not interested in the fact you have the facility to track the bike's location. Surely that would help reduce insurance costs a tad's knacker. But no. The world makes less sense the harder you look at it.

As you know a good road. Yeah I got close with the graphics to make it almost good. Room for improvement but an interesting idea... I'd enjoy a Heads Up Display in my helmet for real.
