25 Bands for 25 Years | One Take Montage - Jason Spevak

Okay, it's actually 26... i threw in a song I wrote back in 2012. This song was my first "complete" song that I was most proud of. Here are 25 bands that inspired me, not only to play guitar, but to learn other instruments, grow mentally, and to feel alive, honestly. There's a wide range of artists and each song in here has a story as to why it's in here. These are songs I've struggled through ...

"I Need A Lover" Intro Guitar Lesson (Part 1)
Просмотров 24 тыс.10 лет назад
Hi everyone! This is the long awaited tutorial for I Need a Lover! A fantastic song. I apologize for when the guitar sounds muffled. My computer microphone is not the best. Also at around 14:00, I say go to the 12th fret on the first string and it is actually the 14th fret (the unison bend part). Besides that, the rest was very thorough. If you have comments or questions, please ask. I'll try m...

You got it ! Great song . Sounds Great .
What a great song to jam over. Beautifully done.
Video starts at :56
From one experienced guitarist to another, that is really good. I know the average Joe would think anything on guitar is good, but in a player's perspective, that is great playing!
Hey, I was looking for this. We are about to attempt this. Nice job. Isn't he singing the F in the melody on that final line? "Fat Bottom..." That would make more sense with the G# and C#. The whole chord is raised. I thought it might be a D dim but I think it is just a full inverted C# (G#-C#-F). I mean, a lot of things would work here leading to the D, but the F is important since it is the main melody note.
Interesting fact, your last name means "singer" in slovak :)))
Not gonna lie. at 04:35 you goosebumped me.
What software?
Garageband for iOS! I’m using an old MacBook pro here
I’m 9 years late but god damn bro that’s amazing 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Great work😊
Good stuff!
Thanks!
Awesome! I always crank this song up when it comes on the radio. The guitar is fire on this tune.
Larry Crane is the man
thankyou we are doing this song and have the low harmony starting on A. it has helped a lot.
Good job.. I'm auditioning for a band playing this song and this will help me prepare for picking a vocal harmony. Thank you. Great video. Great work
Thank you so much! You got this!
Pick the low one, lol
Excellent. Very helpful for me
Who recorded this song? Is it yours? Does it have lyrics?
It's a '70s classic by John Mellencamp back in his early 'John Cougar' stage name days; a few years before 'Jack & Diane' but I'm guessing the reason you didn't know is that I probably have grandchildren your age. My garage bands back in high school used to cover this, but our lead guitarists 'JD & Doogie' played all the coolest licks then. When I do this one at karaoke & open mic nights now, I open it up with his song 'Cry Baby' as an intro. At some venues, I pull out a fake 'joint' with that 'stoners are dancin to the radio' line too. LOL
Nice job! That was awesome.
Your tone ..or lack of..makes this so unwatchable...sounds like toy mouse gear..do yoyr self a favor..FAST.....FIND TONE..seek..not hard to find...stay away from toy digital shit
The amp sound is from a Marshall 100W tube head and a 4x12 cabinet. The muffled sound you’re hearing is from the bad microphone on whatever I was using to record the video, not the amp and no digital gear or effects used at all
I can totaly understand....with that i opoligize and credit you on a great job playing. I totaly get it .. peace
Nice job sir
great stuff!!
nice! you move through it at a good pace, too.
incredible stuff
Holy shit you crushed that solo at the end... nice job
That was awesome! What were you looking at around 2:10?
Madhav Nayak there was a biplane in the sky flying right over the venue! Lol
What kind of set up are you using for that sound?
I have a Marshall MA100H head and 4x12 cabinet. I was recording straight with the microphone on my phone, hence the spotty audio but that is my amp setup
Nice ax daddy-o.
You're a good teacher. Thanks!
Simply an incredible cover. Your tone matches Larry Crane’s almost exactly. I do like how you added heavier, more distorted refrains under the vocals too.
Great job. Thank you...
Bazinga!
Great freaking job im so impressed an im no one dude me
Wow! You are good. Thanks so much.
This made me so happy :)
Thank you from this old wanna be guitarist :) I've always wanted to learn this great tune.

Nice job!
Very well done!
Thank you very much for watching! :)
Anyway you can do a video on those pentatonic licks for your solos? Your are moving a little to fast for me to catch your sequences. But they are very musical, and I want to steal, I mean borrow them.
bad timing
keep on rockin.
You rocked it !
sweet job jason
Sorry bud the guitar solo padal tone section.. you didn't nail at all. Not knocking your hard work here.. but I only clicked on this to see someone break it down. Those pedal tones descending really kick ass.
Thankyou, job well done breaking down this great rocking song.
Steve Donahue Thank you very much!
Thankyou , job well done breaking down this great song.
