I do have a feeling that if batman really did die at this point in this series, Joker would try to be evil again. Doing crime, but would later try to find a new reason to live when he realize his crimes have no meaning anymore. First starting doing green collar jobs, but after accidentally stopping a mugging he'd realize.. He CAN do something He'd decide to fight crime, instead of cause it. Not as the bat who laughs, but as the Laughing Bat. Wearing one of those theatre masks over his face, because after the events of his arch enemy's death... He'd be unable to smile, except when he is with Harley.
