Thank you, had a homework problem and was stumped but this helped me a lot to understand!
Glad it helped
8XX - 2X - 3 * XX - 0,25X - 0,375 0,375 = 0,5x0,75 = 1x0,375 0,75 - 0,5 = 0,25 = (b') **+0,75: 8(0,75x0,75)-2(0,75)-3 4,5 - 1,5 - 3 = 0 **+0,5: 8(0,5x0,5) - 2(0,5) - 3 2 -1 -3 # 0 -0,5 : 8(-0,5x-0,5) - 2(-0,5) - 3 2 + 1 - 3 = 0 *** X' = 0,75 , X" = -0,5 ./.
XX - 2X - 3 * 3 : 1x3 = 1,5x2 3-1= 2 = (b) ** +3 : 3x3 - 2x3 - 3 9 - 6 - 3 = 0 ** +1 : 1x1 - 2x1 - 3 1 - 2 - 3 # 0 -1 : (-1x-1) - 2(-1) - 3 1 + 2 - 3 = 0 *** X' = 3 , X" = -1 ./.
This helped so much mostly since I’m doing alg 2 and I’ve been struggling a bit
Thanks so much for your explanation.
i am not passing this test 😭
Sir::: How exactly know of the gravity force on all those planets, or even on the Moon???
I'm not very good at astronomy or even physics, but I know that gravity is a function of mass, so the larger the mass the stronger the gravity. There are ways to estimate the mass of celestial objects, but I don't know the specifics of how they do that. But I am pretty confident that the astronomers know this information.
@@isabeljanken4173 But, I think they've made their numbers out of fairytales!!
Very good and simple explanation 👏👏
When you were adding like terms, when you added two negative signs shouldn't that be a positive?
can you explain how to simplify my answers for standard and general form?
Send me an example problem that is causing you difficulty and I will try to help. You can email me at gjanken@gmail.com
How was this method developed? How can one learn to understand WHY it works and not just how to do it.
I learned about it from NCTM magazine (National Council of Teachers of Mathematics). It was in an issue from several years ago. I Googled "slip slide method of factoring" and got many hits. I'm sure one of them can explain it. I don't recall the reasoning, but I do recall that it was interesting.
@Glen Janken thank you for that! I've seen this before, but the, why of it always stood in my way.. it doesn't stump me.. I just didn't like that I didn’t know why. My brother and my Dad just seemed to get it... but I couldn't get the why of it... I can't ask them anymore, so thanks for the resource.
thank you for the help

What if it's a perfect square
thank you very much
Thanks 👍
Thank you Glen
Where did the 9 come from
If you are referring to the 9 at the end of the expression, I had 13, and then subtracted 4 from each side of the equation so I'd have zero on the right hand side. Does that make sense?
@@gjanken I get it now thanks to you i passed my precal test, 9 years later you're still replying to comments what a legend
Finally, someone was able to explain what rule to follow for factoring out negative exponents! The algebra is by far the hardest part of these problems for me. Thank you for explaining this and showing the steps clearly!
You're welcome, Sam. It's really a pretty cool method once you get your head around it.
thanks you
dude, your video doesnt work
You're right. Not sure why. I re-uploaded it here: ruclips.net/video/ztmERrrM20Q/видео.html
There are several versions of this method going around. After doing some research, it seems as though they are all basically based on the Australian method for factoring trinomials. It's basically compensation.
2021 and this is still useful
Woah that's wild, that works?
Yup!

i dont know if you'll respond in time but this is my problem x^2 +13×-420 Lol I can't find the numbers to multiply
The short answer is 15 and 28. If you send me an email - gjanken@ndala.com - I'll explain how I got that. It's pretty easy but it requires some explanation.
@@glenjanken3241 alright thanks. No need for email, as I just needed the numbers.
- Can i help you ? XX + 13X - 420 * 420 = 14x30 =15x28 28-15=13=(b) **+28: 28x28 + 13x28 - 420 784 + 364 - 420 1148 - 420 # 0 -28: (-28x-28)+13(-28)-420 784 - 364 - 420 = 0 +15: 15x15 +13x15 - 420 225 + 195 - 420 420 - 420 = 0 X' = -28 , X" = 15 ./.
Thank You For the help!!
You're quite welcome!
@@gjanken Wish I had a teacher like you in my school who would explain the topic clearly just as you did😄
Thank youuu
All I gotta say is thanks man for the vid

thanks!
thankss for your video
Such a great help for my pre-cal class. I knew this before but I forgot it now. Thank you!
@Earl Jovhan Cameros yup!
Watching this for our precal test tomorrow wish me luck
thank you
Love you so much
Thank you so much man this helped with my math work I'm sadly stuck doing it at home with no help because of coronavirus 😥
You're welcome!
Dont get it
nice content
Great video!!!
Great video!!!
Thank you for this. I couldn't understand it first.
why not just simplify it into x-1
Thanks for a great explanation
Thanx Sir
thank you, couldn't understand why an inverse function would be negative and you explained it.
general form is the ugly one JAHAHA
nice, very informative :P
Super. Glad you like it.
wow, this made this a lot simpler than how it was explained to me. Thanks, bud.
