Amen amen amen Father 🙏🙏🙏 had an experience a few years ago when I arranged to go to confession. It was a gloriously sunny, calm afternoon and outwith normal confession times. I had been going monthly or more at that point. The difference with this confession was it truly was going to come from a broken spirit and truly contrite heart. The Holy Spirit convicted me that my disobedience in breaking the commandments was a slap in the face to Jesus. I was no better than who is referred to as “the bad thief” on the cross. I didn’t feel condemned. I felt heartbroken that I would do that to my beautiful Jesus. Hairy hoofs was clearly furious because he tried to frighten me in different ways but in the most unexpected and bizzare way. I knelt down in the confessional and suddenly I heard banging, crashing sounds as though the church was being ransacked. The priest hearing my confession didn’t move but I stuck my head out of the confessional door and the Church was empty and everything was fine. I knelt back down again and continued my confession feeling a touch of fear. I knew the Church was empty so I didn’t close the door fully before kneeling back down. Then a breeze blew into the confessional. Strangely, the curtain between me and the priest didn’t move and the Priest seemed oblivious to what was going on. If I doubted the power of the confessional prior to that experience, I haven’t since. The evil one was clearly raging that day as the bricks around my heart crumbled. What a glorious day. Oh lord, please help me always to confess with a contrite heart and where I am blind to my sin, please let me see. 🙏 Thank you again Father. I cannot thank you enough and I thank God for you. I love your teachings. 🙏
