I had 22lb common out of the snake lake in 2007 .as far as I know it's still in there .

FOR ELDERLY and DISABLED ANGLERS. AVOID WILLOW LAKES LONDON COLNEY/ST.ALABANS AT ALL COSTS. This morning my wife and I tried to fish the main Willow Lake on this site. Some excuse was made about day tickets so the tackle shop operative took the money but was unable to give us a ticket and we received a normal till receipt. We had gone round the lake, by car, several times and decided on a swim nearest the shop and island feature. I had explained that I was registered disabled but this was met with contempt and no allowances were forthcoming. In fact when I asked the obviously temporary where the good spots were I was told “All over” which in the case of a 22 acre lake is not terribly helpful. I made some further purchases and tackled up having parked my car off the road and 30 yards from my swim. Just getting ready for the first cast he arrived (I had thought with the ticket) when red-faced with rage he berated us for parking off the main road, fishing in a swim that was not designated and made us collect our tackle and move on. He wanted my wife (My carer) to move the car now but we filled the car up before moving. Perhaps I should have told him that I had a chronic heart condition, a pacemaker, stents and cannot easily walk more than 30 yards rather than the 100 yards he required of me. All swims are like this and quite distant from the swims. There is no help or concessions for the disabled. Prior to leaving I was about to ask for my £18 back but now I want them to realise that they have ruined my entire fishing week. He was out at that time but could see us all the time. I have been fishing this place for 35 years without a days trouble. I will never go there again. Howard Palmer

Seems to me tge fish was using the lead to drop the hook, fished here plenty & they are wise beyond thier years, some might only be 4-5 yrs old but you wouldn't think so the way they fight they know where to go change directions quickly, it was just one of those days ( frustrating) but you was hooking em so don't be beating yaself up 👍

Just a bit of advice ask if it's fully booked or anyone there fishing even ask if a p g number is vacant if they say no you can get a discount I have twice ;)

Bluebell is a hard lake even Korda had trouble
