My favorite Kirk solo, and James’ riffing….. I don’t even have to say it.

It doesn't sound as clean and polished and well-oiled and thrashy as the guitar sound of the Master of Puppets album, but it's heavier, drier and rougher than the guitar sound of the Black album, for sure.

This is actually Lars' first rough cut for the drum track. You can tell where he missed his cue. No one knows what happened, he just turned up at a Red Lobster in Fresno 3 days later, not a scratch on him.

How many tracks are here? I used to think he recorded like 2 or 3 tracks for the first 2 albums and for master and justice it was usually 4 tracks but I've read some conflicting information

Those e5 power chord chugs are just fucking pure brutality. Everybody plays them but nobody makes them sound like hetfields. He's got the perfect amount of touch on his palm mutes.
