Thank you, this video has evoked the most precious memories from my childhood . For many years, I have been trying to learn everything about this powerful Goddess, but not from the perspective of Santeria and witchcraft. I've always known that Yemayá is a lot bigger than that. She, is a very important figure in the Cuban pantheon of Deities, alongside La Caridad del Cobre & Sta. Bárbara, as I understand it. If anyone in the know reads this, please correct me if I am mistaken. I know very little about these topics. As a child growing up in Havana, my Mother used to take me to very elaborate ceremonies to worship this powerful Goddess. I will never forget the spiritual cleansing rituals they'd performed, using lots of holy water, infused with the essence of Floral Cologne, and the fragrance of fresh Flowers 🌺 floating, like Lily pods, in the water. The music and prayers still resonate in my mind. One day, in the middle of a ceremony, the high Priest (Santero) put his hand on top of my head, and told Mother, that I needed to cultivate an intimate relationship with Yemayá because I am one of her chosen daughters. But shortly after this, we were forced to flee the country, and leave behind these cultural traditions and practices, forgotten until now 😊...
