Sunshine and Snowbikes
Sunshine and Snowbikes, you got to love it. Now all we need is a lot more snow. We’re still finding some powder, but it’s getting harder. So, we did a little ridge ride to check out the scenery.

Snowbikeing is finally getting good
Просмотров 40428 дней назад
After a slow start, Snow biking is finally getting good. Snowbikes, deep power, and trees. It doesn’t get better then that. We love it in the trees. You can always find untracked snow in the trees. #Snowbikes #SoutheastIdaho #IdahoSingleTrack

Finally getting some snow. Been out 3 days out of the last 5 and it’s starting to build a base. It’s about time. Still a lot of brush and stumps, but it’s good to get out.

Rainey Creek project 2024 complete! Volunteers helped put up 5 very sturdy bridges on Rainey Creek near Swan Valley this fall (2024). Multiple user groups, including Dirt bikers, Mountain bikers, Hikers, Trail runners, ATV’s Horseman, Forest Service and Idaho Parks and Rec., got together to make all this happen. ISTA has been involved in 7 bridges this year. Thanks to all who were able to join ...

With the avalanche danger high, we headed to some flatter ground, and spent the day playing in the trees and powder. What a great day.
Chasing

With the lack of snow, no home field advantage, and me just getting old. I spent the whole day chasing. But any day in the mountains is a good day. Thanks for going.
Finally getting some base.

After a real slow start, then no base, and avalanches everywhere we're finally getting some base in southeast Idaho. Now if we could just get more snow.

Sawmill Canyon 2023
Просмотров 134Год назад
The Sawmill Canyon Project Has been in the planning stage for many years. 2023 finally kicked off the start of a wide range of improvements in the area. In June we helped put in a restrictor gate and 180 ft. of Jack Fence at the bottom of Bull Creek to keep the ATVs and UTVs off this single-track trail. We also did a couple of reroutes on Bear Creek to help a couple of muddy meadows heal. In Au...

Sawmill canyon Restrictor Project. Part 3. We had 15 Volunteers Put up almost 1100 feet of jack fence to protect a large meadow for wildlife. A new trail was made around the meadow with new restrictor gates on both ends to keep the larger vehicles out. The road through the meadow was removed. Backcountry Hunters and Anglers, Idaho Single Track Alliance, Idaho Falls Trail Machine Association, Ch...

Sawmill Canyon Restrictor gate Project. Part two. Sponsored by IFTMA and Tread Lightly along with ISTA, MVTMA, Two Wolf Foundation, Challis Community Trails Group, and the Idaho Parks and Recreation. We had 38 people show up to help put up a new restrictor gate on a non motorized trail, put up about 400 feet of jack fence, rehab a meadow, and a bunch of riding. It was a great weekend, thanks to...
That's some beautiful country!!
Yes, it is. And it's close to home for us.
Even Better! The snow looks pretty darn good !
Best video yet! Looks fun
It was a great day. You should have been there so one of us know what we were doing.
Gettin it done!
You bet. It's getting better. You better come out and play with us.
Yea yea yea
What?
Looks like a great day out in the snow!!! Great video!
Thanks, It was a great day, but any day that I don't brake anything is a great day.
Bushwackers! Love this
That tree reached out and grabbed you, ha ha
Ya, some of those trees have a magnetic draw. We're going to have to go to plastic bikes,
Ya, you can't let a little brush in the way of a good ride. Just the cost of early season riding.
We can do the same thing here in south east Washington!! Love it!
We had some great spring riding last year. We rode tell early May, but also started riding the low country in March. But the high trails took a while to melt. Thanks for watching.
That is some stellar side hilling!! Shows what snow bikes are awesome at... Boon docking !!!
It was a fun day for sure. we had some great spring riding last year.
Tim has a new track kit for this year and has been watching snowbike videos and praying for snow for three week already.
We're getting some snow already. I think it's gonna be a good year!
I need to get my kit back on so I’m ready! That was steep!!
Ya, it looks like it's time to get things ready. I hope it's a great winter.
We should be professional bridge builders! ISTA crew is 🔥
Yes we are
Are there any gnarly/dangerous sections here and/or on kirkham ridge? Going to ride it solo soon. Thanks!
There are some steep climbs and exposed side hills, but nothing overly technical. I did it solo. But check. I heard part of it burned.
@@atypicalmoto3413 thank you for the input, appreciate it. The thing I’m always most concerned with is the combination of challenging terrain with high exposure. I’m okay with one or the other, but do not like to mix the two!
Was a good day!
Yes it was. But then, most days in the snow are good days.
That is just plain AWESOME WOW!! What a place.
Yes it is. And it's close to home for us. We've been a little short of snow this year, but just love to get out.
If you don't mind.. where do you guys usually ride at ? Great looking area! Ive only spent time in the Pine / Feathervile area .
East side of the State. Around the Palisades Reservoir and east of Idaho Falls. Really short of snow so far this year. Thanks for watching.
What a great Video! That's some awesome boon docking!!
Thanks, it is a great area. We just need more snow.
sweet area!
Thanks, it is a fun area. And it's close to home.
Looks awesome guys!!
It was a good ride, but we sure need some more snow. Let's all do a snow dance./
@@atypicalmoto3413 Is this Idaho falls area?
Yes, it is just east of Idaho Falls.
@@atypicalmoto3413 I used to work in that area years ago. Didn't realize how good the snow was down there. I currently reside in south east Washington. And only make it home to the Boise area a few times a year. And we usually go up to the pine area. I've been wanting to to the Klim cow tag event to get exposed to that side of the state but I Can't this Year. Maybe next! Keep the videos coming they are great! I would love to get some single track in over there too some day!
You guys always find the good stuff!
Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while. But we try hard.
Great Loop. we did that on Labor Day from Bull Trout lake. cleared a bunch of trees in the burn scar on kirkham back to the lake.
We did it during the State Ride week when everyone was riding in the dust over in Stanley. It is a great loop. Thanks for watching.
Fantastic boondocking ride! Those are the best! did you do a loop?
Ya we did, but the trip back was a little less epic. We were running out of time and had a 3 hour drive home. Great day but a long one. We got home about midnight.
Usually try to embrace every season from water sports in the heat of the summer along with hard enduro to dual sport and adventure ridding to archery season to rifle then muzzleloader then short track sleds cthen snowbike when the snow piles up around here
Likewise. The changing seasons has a different meaning to us enthusiasts. Thanks for watching.
So rad! Im ready for this season!!
Same here. Last year was a great snow season.
Looks like a hell ofva good time!!
Yup, you got to love those early season rides. Thanks for watching.
Good stuff! You’re a galdern media xtrordinaire!
A Galdern something anyway.
Was a good project! Great people, met some new friends and have renewed respect for our Veterans.
It was a great week, and with many hands, we got a lot done.
Mason is right! You do work hard, lots of good trail you have documented. Good work!
It was a good time. Thanks for talking me into going.
Thanks for putting this together Mike, now I can share with my family what the terrain at the state ride was like!
The camera never does it justice but it was a great time. Thanks for your part.
Mike, thanks so much for all the hard work you do. You are just like your bike, a strong orange tractor. Well you’re not orange, well kinda, and you’re not a bike, but you are definitely as strong, powerful and useful as a tractor. Your MMT is THE TOOL. Love riding with and clearing trail with you. Guess if I want to be in your videos I need to hang back some. Oh and that shot of Mike E. Under the water!!!!! Classic Mike E. Thanks again, Ken Mason
Thanks Ken. It's an old slow tractor, but I keep trying. It was a good week.
It was a good time. Thanks
That bike of yours is cheating! It’s like a tractor. Another top 5 day!
It has to be, or I couldn't get anywhere. It was a great day thanks for taking me.
Preserving Idaho’s single track!
Yup, Keep up the good work.
You guys find all the cool spots!
Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while. But we try hard.
Such amazing conditions!! Ride looks epic!!
It was a great ride. Sad to see this season come to an end.
You saved me multiple times that day! I definitely owe you a nice cold beverage. Haha. Blue bird day in awesome terrain
Just got a chance to pay you back for all the times you dug me out. It's hard work being an idiot.
Looks like go anywhere snow
Yes it was. We had a few warm days and then some heavy snow. but those are the days to explore some new areas.
Where is this awesome good ness??
Southeast Idaho. Northeast of Idaho falls. It's been a great year over here.
@@atypicalmoto3413 WOW I GUESS SO. I'M over in south east Washington and we get into the mountains west of Yakima. Its been good but not that good. We are still hoping for some more good riding. I make my way to the Pine , Featherville area but have not gotten to that side of Idaho. Need to plan a nice road trip!! Great vid Thanks!!
Another top 5!
It was a great day. Thanks for playing with us.
Who knew that Challis had so many untouched areas to ride? Bayhorse was cool to see in the winter!
I think we barely touched the surface. There's a lot of area to check out.
Cool video, we’ll be up on Stevens Peak in North Idaho tomorrow
Sounds like fun. A lot of our high country has gotten 2 feet in the last few days, so we'll be out somewhere. Have fun.
So Good!!!
It was a great day. Glad you liked it.
cool video! Where did you get the sulky saw mount?
It's homemade out of Kydex. It comes in handy in the pucker brush.
So Rad!!
Atypical Moto. Awesome ride. Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching.
What a epic day !! so Rad guys!! Thanks for the great video!
It was a great day. Glad you enjoyed it!
This looks SOOO RAD! I want to ride one so BAD! As a kid I loved riding snowmobiles but these look so much more agile in the wooded areas!
I'm not saying they're better then sleds but they're sure a blast in the trees.
Awesome video, just got my first snowbike in December and I’m hooked.
That's what happened to me!!
It happens to a lot of us. Life behind bars, right?
@@atypicalmoto3413 100%
You’re a super stud!
That's why I spent all day trying to catch up.
Very beautiful. I dream that someday I will buy a snowbike for myself and I will also ride along the mining mountain (this is the place where people ride snowbikes and snowmobiles in Russia)
They are a lot of fun, and you can see a lot of country that would be hard to see in the winter otherwise.
I don’t think that qualifies as “southern” Utah, lol
It's Southern Utah to a couple of Idaho boys. Anything south of Salt Lake is Southern to me. lol
What camera?
Sorry I missed this, we don't get many comments. It was a GoPro Hero 11 Black on a chin mount.
Gotta love those new to snowbiking fails and flops
Any ride's a good ride.
What's moto model?
