I've been making flatware birds and such. I've made a few fun birds for my wife's craft shows from shovels. I made a couple dragons from tin can cutups so I guess it's larger birds and other animals now. Stay a dreamer but buy a Tig outfit.

I always wanted to have a try at a welded Eagle - I have been inspired by you and undertaken the project during our lockdown. I am very happy with the outcome - problem solving all the way . Thank you Alloy Boy for your video. It is fantastic and my dream has been realised. You are so very talented and a legend . keep sharing and producing wonderful art.

That is beautiful. I wish I could make such great art with my everlast welder. I guess practice makes perfect.

What gauge of metal are the feathers?

I really like the fact you included your initial drawings. It is fascinating to see it come together. I bought an everlast mig welder a little while ago. I'm still learning to weld but I hope to make art too.

Alloy Boy Thanks, you know today many people claims to be artists, but very few are. And even if i had a money i would never bought a thing from them. But this Eagle is maybe? masterpiece its unique.

that sculpture looks great, I too would like to know how many hours you invested, do you have any type of finish on it and did you use anything to control spatter during construction ? love that bird,

I invested about 150 hours or so. For the finish I had just used some clear finish that you can get at pretty much any hardware store. And for the spatter I just used a couple old t-shirts so that no slag or sparks would get on the rest of the feathers.

Gorgeous piece!! Before you clear coated, did you sand blast or how did you clean it?
