Why does this not work for me? When I get minthara to the throne room she never triggers dialogue. Only the goblins do. Any ideas?

Helpful guide. I finally got through to the end after her disappearing a few times. The latest she's stuck just standing there in the cell. EDIT3: And I had Karlach just carry her out of there.

This method failed, I was frustrated because I failed to get Minthara after 60 hours of playing, I'm now on the Moonrise Tower mission

So what happened if you just knock her out and move on? Will she not appear in front of kethil and end up in the interrogation room anyway?

How do you go back to the goblin camp? I thought once you entered the shadowlands you couldn’t go back?

HELP! did as followed in the video and after the "Heist" Minthara had an exclamation mark above her head and after exhausting her dialogue, she stands there like a golem with no way to interact with. - ACT 2 SPOILERS she said she wants to raid ketheric thorm first thing in the morning but even after multiple Long Rests nothing made her continue her quest. the only difference was that I performed the heist while in Patch 5 and the difference it made is the part where you need to escort her to the throne room - you barely get to the first door and they just teleport your whole party to the throne room which activates the cutscene with minthara's trial and afterwards the regular "save or kill the goblins' cutscene. other than that it went fluid. Nonetheless initiating the second cutscence didn't stop me from reaching minthara's cell in time but that was the only difference. Oh, and I think one of my party members reached level 8.

Appreciate the effort for the video. This is just way too much so I guess She's going to die on my first run. I'll recruit her on my second run after my evil character slaughters the Tiefling's.

My Minthara (acquired by this sheep method) suddenly broke after patch 5!! Everytime she is being conversed with, wherever the location, the camera goes to the throne room scene in moonrise where she is judged. and because the goblins are already dead, the scene abruptly ends, and it goes to that loop everytime i talk to her. currently I'm almost at the end of Act 2, and I haven't got to the point of killing Ketheric yet though so I don't know if that's gonna make any difference. Anyone has a solution for this? thanks!

This has now been rendered moot. Now you just need to KO her in act 1. However, I hope you leave it up with a note to this effect, because this is a FUN little historical glitch. The best kind of glitches are the fun ones, and the devs are best to leave those alone, UNLESS they just officially implement the glitch and make it not so, which is what they did! Cheers to you all!

Added to patch notes: Minthara will still appear at Moonrise Towers if she was knocked out in Act I. Has anyone tested this yet?

In my game it happened differently. When I got to the part about taking the minthara (sheep) to the castle, when I arrived at the gate, her trial scene had already started and the game prevented me from changing characters. So I selected the option of manipulating to convince that Minthara was innocent, and continued choosing the options favorable to her. After that I went to the prison where she has shift mode active, in this part I did the same as the video, attack everyone inside, I became invisible and left the room, after that the scene started normally to rescue her.

I believe this is fixed in latest patch. You dont have to do the second part of this trick :) "Minthara will still appear at Moonrise Towers if she was knocked out in Act I."

i thought the goblin camp and moon rise towers were in 2 different acts? how are you able to go between the two...?

I did everything and got her in my party but she seems to be excluded from cutscenes and approvals so I can’t improve her rating of me anyone else have this problem in act 2 every dialog scene in the game includes every other party member but her

Man... that's a lot of work to recruit a companion for a very lackluster romance... imma play how the game wants me to play which is just kill her then move on

At this point, with them trying to patch every single method it's not recommended to try any of these "recruit Minthara and spare the Tieflings" methods without messing up your save since they release patches quite often At this point, they should just give in and give us ways to recruit everyone and save everyone through dice roll based methods... it would appease everyone

Still works, but something changed. When you jump to the character waiting in the interrogation / mind wiping room for Minthara, I saw she no longer reverts to her original form. Had to disable turn based mode for a split second so polymorph could wear off. As soon as it does, re-enable turn base mode as fast as possible. Minthara will try to run out of the room and then disappear. Was able to turn on turn based in time and continue with the video.

damn, guess I fucked up. I knocked her out. but later when I lr and went back she wasn't there. no body, nothing. I did save it before trying it but but I've already gone so far by now. guess i'll try again on a different character.

Will she not be in the cut scene if you leave her unconscious?

This is actually insane! How tf do people come up with this stuff lol... I tried to come up with a way of recruiting both Minthara and Halsin during my playthrough but gave up pretty quick when I realised it was more trouble than it was worth (given that my MC was a Paladin anyways). I'd have cured world hunger though before I came up with this though, amazing really.

THIS STILL WORKS AS OF THE NEWEST UPDATE

For everyone who want to try this approch and obvious spoilers if you have not finished the game before. I've done some further testing with this and what effects it has on the game going forward in the campaign. So I gotten to a point where this approch to recruit Minthara changes things for Halsin, as he ends up dead as an effect from me recruiting Minthara through her trial in Moonrise Tower. After I did this approuch, I continued to play as normal taking Minthara with me and only after I cleared the Mountain pass and all of arc 2 except for Art Cullagh, Nightsong and Moonrise Tower. After finding the instrument for Art Cullagh I returned to Last Light Inn only to notice Halsin laying dead on the floor of the inn. I jumped back some save games and noticed he was still alive in Last Light Inn, before I recruited Minthara in the Tower. There is no way to resurrect Halsin if he's dead, even the mod that removes the restriction to resurrect NPCs(at least from what I could read in the comments of the mod), since that is what Halsin still is. Now, I have not tried this yet, but my thinking is that if you can do the Art Cullagh quest, wake him up and help Halsin finish his quest to bring Thaniel back. Once you've managed to finish the quest and rescue Thaniel, Halsin is recruitable and since resurrection spells only work on companions and PC, in theory, even if the game "kills" Halsin, when you recruit Minthara, you should be able to resurrect Halsin. But again, this is a theory I have not yet tried, but will try in my third playthorugh.

I unfortunately spent a bunch of time being evil, siding with Minthara, killing the grove/tieflings, went to act 2, did everything prior to the Moonrise tower, only to find out Minthara had her mind brainwashed so she's no longer recruitable or savable. I didn't have a save from prior anymore as I didn't want to replay 40 hours of the game, so I wasn't able to rescue her. Sad day as that's the main reason I started an evil group is to get her in the party. The only options I have left at Gale, Lizel, Astarion, and Shadowheart as everyone else leaves or doesn't want to be evil. I read that if you do the Shar gauntlet prior to rescuing Minthara that she gets brainwashed and just stand there like a zombie saying she serves the absolute. I tried going back after finishing all of act 2, but she still didn't recover, so I killed her to put her out of her misery. Sad day.

Thank you so much for this! As of today, it still works. It got a little finicky in the torture chamber (accidentally crit the first time and the game flagged her as dead, while every other time she didn't turn hostile and just ran off). I ended up having Karlach unarmed strike her and that worked. Note: DO NOT say you'll be back for her. You won't be able to talk to her again. Just take her after you kill the torturers and go!

I’m at the point that I finished act one have followed your guide accordingly to level seven I’m just curious if I’m act two going straight to moon rise and bringing her to that cutscene before anything else in the tower will mess up any quests or npcs that you may want to kill for tadpoles or purchase from etc

Ok so I tried this and everything works as intended, except that Minthara won’t spawn inside the interrogation room but instead at the base of the stairs with 2 Adepts following her. If I attack her then and there it won’t trigger any dialogue and after she will just be frozen in time and not talk to me anymore. So I tried exiting turn based, in which case she will slowly walk up to the position you can see in the video and as soon as she reaches it run away with the speed of lightning and the game will tell me that I helped her but she “elected to go her own way“. So instead I tried entering turn based modea again, in the precise moment she reaches her spot and started running, wich in my case actually got it to work exactly like in the video so if you are facing this problem don’t give up keep trying and you will get her eventually ^-^

I non lethal her, and after short rest she just vanished. I tried reloading earlier saves and nothing. Alwas same outcome, could be the result of new patch?

Just give folks a key combo to acquire all companions. So tedious.

Amyone tried this in patch 4 today's version? Minthata refuses to speak at my camp in act 2. Just nothing happens when I click on her after the very first dialogue about revenge and sleep well and long resting afterwards. I'm wondering if my attempt to save Sazza (I spoke to Minthara then) was a fatal mistake. Also Halsin still has no option to join, still chilling in the camp for the whole act During my previous attempt on patch 3 I could just simply ask Minthara to join me, as well as the rest of her lines

Ok I just tried this now, and i figured out a key part, you have to knock her out in a single shot while friendly with her still. I basically crit her in a single attack, without triggering aggro on anyone else. This way it will say "knocked out (temporary)" This is key, when i knocked her out before, it just said knocked out, but not temporary, thats treated as a death evidently.

For anyone wondering, this no longer works, the issue is that she disappears after a long rest, whether knocked out or not, she is treated as dead by the game, and no matter what you do she will disappear.

This no longer works. I got the the step of polymorphing Minthara today and when I went back she was gone and her bag and Lyre were just laying on the ground where she was. I notice that any NPCs I knock out are gone after I long rest now.

As of today she just disapears after a long rest

So I knocked her out I killed the Drow and I did a long rest after cause I was low health. Then when I come back. Her body is missing. Anyone know what happened?

It still works just keep that dominate beast should be still active and the sheep is still visible as a companion

I had left Minthara at 1 hp so the step to aggro her was giving me a headache. Turns out you can just throw her a healing pot and it while aggro her while saving you from having to roll for the guards to disregard your aggression!
