What makes most film great is there specificity. They are capturing the stories of specific characters in a certain time. I feel the main criticism is that this film is not general enough to the trans experience. But Emilia is not every trans person but a very specific person. To be honest 2024 is not a good movie Year and I don’t have a film I am so excited I am putting my chip on them so I am not an Emilia Perez super fan. But I feel like this film is getting slammed for this that a similar film with a trans would never get slammed for ( like how many director/writers do in depth research on how drug cartels work).

This movie felt like I finally shared an experience nobody else would understand. Just giving it a name makes it easier to deal with.

His character kept that film from not totally being a sad heartbreak of a film. He was hysterical

I love how everyone of the cast talks about Mikey Madison so highly, like it showcases how dedicated she is to her craft

I agree with you, I've seen the first movie, scenes from part 2 and the shower scene from part 3 and I don't understand the appeal. Art is a scary character and definitely has potential but the extreme gore just isn't for me. I can't understand how people find these enjoyable.

Imagine being that much of a snowflake you’ve gotta attack a film franchise because you don’t have the mental capacity to understand that It’s a film with the sole purpose to entertain you, nobody is making you watch these films, if you can’t handle stuff like this stick to watching finding nemo🤫

By using extreme gore, the internet chatter is the self-replicating advertisement he needs to elevate him up the ladder of financial greatness. This is America, and Damien has found his way to glory, like it or not! Congratulations, Damien!

these guys are awesome. Great interview by the way I love this film so much. It's my favorite movie year for anybody saying oh it's not that scary bro. It's not even that it's scary. It's just fantastic. It's a great film. It's really not gratuitous at all. it's not even trying to really scare you. It's trying to give you great ideas and it does freak you out the very freaky movie I'd say it's really gravis. Personally, I think it's my favorite of the year to be honest just the structure, and the performances in the camera work it was just awesome. I love these guys.

Did you have to buy an autograph to talk to him? Maybe he was having a peaceful time cuz the ComicCon people were keeping fans away from him.

Great interview. The movie really intrigued me so after I watched it I wanted more insight into it and this by far gave me the most answers. Knowing how it ends now makes me want to go back and watch it again to catch all of the hidden context.

Crazy how you took a meme and made it into a film! Wonderful film but if you keep making films with endings like that you are gonna have a short career.

I loved the film and it was really interesting hearing him talk about it here. Definitely going to have to watch it again bearing some of his comments in mind and see what else I get out of it on a second viewing.

Great interview. To me the movie was a riddle I couldn't decipher. It's a bit frustrating but still more interesting than 99% of the movies out there. Parts of it were pretty brilliant. Look forward to watching more of his films.
