You cannot get more than one rooster. First, why spend the food on more than 1? Second, and more importantly, roosters will fight to death. You get to keep exactly one.

Rabbits, Racoons, wolves, & bears can spawn on grass blocks (if other spawn conditions are met also). Tilling the soil, removing the grass, or replacing the soil with packed dirt (or other block that doesn't grow grass) will prevent spawns. Beware of grass blocks on untilled soil in your farm! *Edit - And again I commented before getting to the part of the video where the information is irrelevant. lol. /facepalm

Congrats on the chickens!! - You can move items around in your inventory to empty a backpack so you can carry it with you. The tooltip will show if it still has items in it. - Let your ingots get up to temp. Generally over 1k is good. The ingots will be noticeably white. *Edit - So I posted this before I got to the part of the video where you figured out the backpack part. lol. My b.

The helve hammer cannot be made of copper. It is bronze and above. Also you won’t need alone just yet. It requires a windmill to power. Make shears to get more sticks. They drastically increase the chance for sticks from leaves. They also break multiple leaves at once.

You can hold alt while clay forming, knapping, and metal working to unlock your mouse. This prevents your head from moving around. It can make the process easier for some people.

When marking copper, if you just click on the pickaxe icon and the orange color, the marker will automatically be marked as copper without typing anything

Unfortunately water cannot be placed with jugs. They are only used for storing liquids to be used for cooking and distilling. You need a bucket to be able to create water sources. Thankfully the original water source is not removed when filling the bucket.

Drifters spawn in light levels of 7 or less. Higher tier drifters will only spawn at lower Y levels. On the surface only Surface drifters will spawn. They have an addition spawning condition of being restricted to within 25 blocks of a rift. During temporal storms spawn conditions above are overridden. Drifters of any tier can spawn on the surface at any light level. Additionally things like slabs do not prevent spawning. There have been reports of drifters spawning in mid air and also on top of players.

Stones are good for crafting cobblestone to include slabs and stairs. So if you plan on using cobble of that rock variant then they are good to keep. Slate stones can be used to make roofing if you want a black roof tile.

You should have more like 10 ingot molds. They have many uses. I like to make ingots in batches of 10 as it is much more fuel efficient. You do need more fuel for 10 ingots than for 2, but if you add up the fuel you see that you end up spending much more making ingots in small batches. in addition, if you mistakenly put too much metal in the crucible you can pour the extra in an ingot mold which you can complete later.

A lot of things work very differently from Minecraft. Try getting some cobble from a ruin to build with, or try placing some of your inventory on the ground. I’m not sure if you want hints or not so I’ll stop there! Enjoy, looking forward to seeing what you do.

Found a post on the VS forums saying that the time acceleration is due to the game saving just as you leave bed. Going back to sleep fixes it.

Zinc, Bismuth and Copper gives Bismuth bronze. It's a great find.

Nice. Bismuthinite. Bismuth bronze makes better armor than tin bronze, and tin bronze better weapons than bismuth bronze. Sphalerite is easy to come by with panning if in a bind.

Yes we did say that raccoons and foxes can give fat. The key word is *CAN*. No guarantees. I hunt foxes and raccoons on the regular. They are a safer source of fat than wolves and bears.

It was SO painful to see that beehive drop. I keep saying to myself “Don’t break the leaves the hive is hanging from.” We all make mistakes. It is what it is. At least you got some honey from it!

Fruit trees: - Only harvest the branch. The leaves give nothing and the stem gives firewood. - The survival rate is a flat 40% when planted and 50% when grafted. Neither can be increased or decreased. - Leaves will grow back but it can take a while. When the tree grows it either produces another leaf block or turns a leaf block into a branch. They can grow up to 2 blocks away from the center stem in all directions and up to 6 blocks tall.

Good attempt on the pronunciation! It is pronounced like the second half of Mandalorian. Don’t feel bad though. I have heard nearly all the pronunciations. lol - Only water sources count towards hydration. - Water sources below or above do not count. - Ideal setup is 1 water source surrounded by 8 blocks of soil. You could also place a 2-wide strip of soil with water running along each side. The important point is soil needs to be adjacent to a water source for maximum hydration without rain or manual watering. I sincerely apologize if my previous explanation was not clear. Sometimes I don’t word properly. lol. 😂 - You can move water sources with a bucket. Buckets need planks to craft which requires a saw made on an anvil.

Congrats on surviving your first temporal storm! The storms happen regularly at 10-12 days by default. They can be turned off either during world creation or through a command as can sleeping during the storm. However they are one of the best ways to get a temporal gear early game. I generally create a bunker of sorts with holes to be able to kill the mobs in a controlled manner. I see you finally met Dave! He is the tall mechanical giraffe looking thing in the distance. He is a friend (until more lore comes out that says otherwise). He and the large gears are always in the distance. They are currently not interactable.

Video quality looks much better! Temporal gears are random drops from any non-animal enemy. A couple of the highest tier enemies will guarantee a gear. Honestly I sprint everywhere. lol. I just keep a stack of berries on my hot bar. Well not always in the forest. I have ran into a group of wolves that way.

Your commentary is on point! Love the humor. lol. Watching your journey in this game has been quite enjoyable and often painful. Reminds me of my first few worlds. - Farmland hydration reduces by 25% the further away from the water source. Crops adjacent to the water block, including the corners for a total of 8 blocks, will have 75% hydration, 2 blocks away 50%, and so on. Crops get a growth speed bonus when above 50% which can be as much as 2 in-game hours at 100%. A watering can will increase the hydration. - Reed storage can be salvaged by crafting it with a knife. You will receive half the amount of reeds needed to craft the storage. - I don’t mind the coordinates. I use them in my worlds. Generally I only use them for prospecting due to the mechanics. - Forests and areas with cinnamon and eagle ferns are spawning locations for wolves and bears. Foxes also share those spawning conditions. So if you see foxes you are likely to run into wolves and bears. It’s generally advised to settle down in a somewhat flat open area. - Not sure if this is possible so ignore this if there are hardware limitations. I think you need to increase your recording bit rate. It is sometimes hard to see what is on screen due to the low quality. - Prospecting is not intuitive and a bit of a process. Ore generation is not guaranteed. Density search indicates the probability of ores to generate in the chunk of the first sample taken. Chunks in VS are 32x32. The word ( High, Decent, Poor) indicates how probable it is. The number looks like a percentage but it is not. It is how much ore will generate per 1000 blocks. So High Hematite (2.77) means that Hematite has a high chance of generating in the chunk and if it does there will be 27.7 ore blocks per 1000 blocks. My strategy it to do a surface prospect to find as high of a probability of ore generation with the highest per-milli amount. Since ore spawns in disks getting to the center increases the chance of finding said ore if it generated. Then I bring a stack of ladders (or rope ladders if you have the cattails or not enough sticks) then dig straight down placing ladders every other block. As I descend I will take a node search at intervals equivalent to my pro pick radius so the overlap is 1 block at most. Pro pick search radius is the number of blocks in your settings (6 by default) in every direction from the picked block. So a pro pick radius of 6 will return results for a 13x13x13 cube centered on the picked block. Sorry if all that was a bit much. Prospecting is the one mechanic that can be the most difficult to sus out by way of the handbook and wiki. Hope this helps!

Hey there! Just a few tips if you don’t know them by now….Try not to run all the time (holding your sprint key), it eats up your SAT (green bar). Also, you can “place” a lot of items on the ground by shift clicking, like wood; you can place tools and weapons by shift/ctrl. Or make a tool rack with 6 sticks ( 3 on top row 3 on bottom row) Pick up tools with ctrl. key

Fun fact, the game has 37 types of mushroom, of which 10 are poisonous. So check before you eat! In real life, fly agaric is poisonous but generally not fatal, but since VS doesn't have vomiting and respiratory distress, I guess death is the closest approximation :D

Don't diss flint. As of 1.20 you're going to need it to make fire clay.

You can fix the translocator (3 gears and 2 metal parts... you can get metal parts from panning and from ruins). Once repaired, you can use the translocator to go to another one (typically around 5000 blocks away). It's a fast way of transportation. Very worth repairing.

I know that a lot of people don't like panning. I enjoy the calm panning task. What's more, I get early copper spears palooza (you very often get copper spear points panning)

If you put fat in a clay bowl, you get a light source that does not go out. It is great to carry in your hand in exploration as it won't go out when you swim (as torches do).

Silver and gold are Always found in quartz.
