Buttering up the critics is still in the acceptable side of the line. It's up for the critic in question to choose if he wants to be honest in their reviews. Sure, they might not be invited for the next trip if they rip on the work. But there is a good motivator to be honest as well. A critic depends on his credibility with his audience, and that will erode with time, as people realize he is not being an honest critic.

Yeah, they're virtue signaling at this point if I'm being honest. Look at No man's Sky. It took them so long to release the game due to criticism on releasing it too early, so they pushed it back, and it actually got a little bit better than its initial launch date. Take criticism like how they did and stop acting like a crybaby about it.

Like the Oasissaur for example, granted yeah it revives dead tames and you can have a Mobile base on the back of it but for one thing it's not that strong. In fact I don't think it has any attacks if I remember correctly. Not to mention that it takes ages until you can revive another Dino after the first one (unless you some how change the settings for it). And the way you have to tame it is kinda tedious, im sure most players wont have the patiences for. One detail about Lockley's book: It seems that the content differs from his English and Japanese versions. So Lockley lied about fact checking his assertions. That quote was subsequently removed from the interview. Now, depending on how you translate the word samurai, there's a tiny chance you can call him that: If you translate it as a fighter, as Oda Nobunaga's squire (that much can be proven with the available evidence), who was given a "short sword" by Nobunaga himself, he surely saw combat, and fought. Now, if you take samurai as someone who follows "the way of the warrior" or "Bushidō", he surrendered his weapon to Akechi, so he was not a samurai. If you want to go with the best translation, that's akin to a European Knight, then he was not a samurai by any stretch of the imagination. He was a koshō, lit "small name", meaning "from a lesser family/cast", as opposed to a "big name", a noble. Basically, If you want to address every soldier as a samurai, then sure, he was a samurai. He was 1.9m tall, he was young, and imposing (to the point that people offered to pay to be able to see him, like an oddity, or a circus freak), it would've been stupid of Nobunaga not to let him fight. However, by any other definition of the word "samurai", there's no chance. He surrendered his weapon, so no Bushidō, and he had no fief, so not "knighted".

The "Hero" immediately surrendered his weapon to Akechi when he killed Nobunaga, and was spared because according to Akechi, he was nothing but "a beast". Basically, Akechi, who was able to betray Nobunaga solely because he was part of his inner circle, considered Yasuke nothing more than a pet and a novelty. Yeah, such a hero!

As much as I agree with the "Go woke, go broke" sentiment, I think DT's failure has nothing to do with the trans VA, though I do agree that her performance in some scenes was incredibly underwhelming. The reason DT failed was because there were lots of glaring issues in the writing, especially when it came to the pacing, as well as the fact that they put Wuk Lamat front and center and the character simply didn't click with the audience. (the JP fanbase strongly disliked Wuk Lamat as well, so again, the issue doesn't just come down to having a trans VA in the EN version) SE took a huge risk with letting a single character carry the expansion on her shoulders, and it didn't pay off. Add to that some of the writing issues and you get mediocrity. What SE needs to do now is introduce more new characters and build a diverse roster of characters for the next expansion, like they did with the Scions from ARR to Endwalker. That way everyone will have a character or two that they like, instead of only focusing the story on one character, which makes it more likely for people to get fed up with.

The sequels were terrible but mando made me come back to it. I tried to like it especially with some luke skywalker memberberries but season 3 and the combo of boba fett/kenobi finally killed it. Didn't bother with andor or the acolyte and I don't think anything would make me want to give this another go.
