The Stand Together Group are a group of young people who have come together who meet weekly at Throston Youth Project to explore and highlight social injustice in the modern world.
“Stand Together and Unite” by the Switch It Project
This song was inspired by the 2021 Holocaust Memorial Day theme of “Being a light in the Darkness”. Young musicians from the Switch It project worked together to compose the music and write the lyrics, as a contribution to Hartlepool Youth Service’s event led by a group of young people named Stand Together. The event took place on 27th January 2021.
All of the work was completed during the C19 pandemic lockdowns in December 2020 and January 2021. Young people were unable to meet in person to write, rehearse or record, this was all done online with support from the Switch It team; the recordings were made individually on young people’s phones and edited together by Switch It’s Lead Musician...

Whenever anyone says that the human race is evil at its core and quotes the horrors we are capable of.....I always tell them to check out the life of Nickolas Winton.... He was a stockbroker by day and forger and briber by night..... he forged the official letterhead of the legitimate refugee ministry of Czechoslovakia and put his name as director....he forged paperwork for the children of desperate parents, he bribed the people who issued exit visas for Czech citizens to stamp the paperwork, The number of descendants of those he saved is well over 15000 He truly deserves the title of Sir Nickolas Winton......

Sir Nicholas Winton a true hero and the MAN of men
have been wondering if every man woman and child targeted by Hitler's army had taken up arms against them anyway that they could of out would have made a big difference.
Amazingly an amazing person lived among us and I lost the opportunity to meet him...I will miss you Sir Nicholas Winton sir till the end of my life..

In a world such as ours, (now, with 'refugee issues' in 2018.).this story is especially heart stirring - to the point of tears. (In fact, I cannot get through any of these videos about courageous Sir Nicholas without unashamedly weeping) . We say in my family, "Stop minding your own business", which evokes a similar spirit as 'don't stand by'. Step up, and do the right thing. Whenever life challenges you to do it. Sometimes a minor act of kindness will cover a small palette, sometimes one, much larger. But the after-effect can change the personal destinies of so many lives. A lesson for us all. God bless.

This is a man we should all subscribe to. A man with compassion, and empathy. A man with the stubbornness and tenacity to not give up. What a beautiful soul. I absolutely do not measure up. My pathetic attempts (donate here, give there) do not even count when I look at what this man has done. If we truly care it's time to step up to the plate and show it.

Nicholas Winton depended on people such as you to do what he did. He had to raise money to save those children as well as finding them homes. His genius and greatness was organisation, but it also was teamwork. You need to keep doing what you are doing - it’s not as glamorous but it is just as essential. So thank you.

Why would you put "DONT STAND BY" Nicholas for the title for? Misleading. No he didn't just stand by we know that, but the Title still is put kinda wrong. HERO that he is alarted with brains and courage.

The future. Our teens and college students of this day need more to believe in than being wrapped up in themselves and brainwashed like Hitler Youth. They need to see and know stories like this one in order to have a future that is worth living in lest history repeat itself.

As a second generation survivor thanks to the kindertransport I found this deeply moving. And an inspiration to action for those in appalling conditions in Calais and escaping Syria.
