30+ years practicing wing chun, and I will tell you that dropping the shoulder of the working arm and pulling your structure out of alignment is a terrible idea. I don't care who he is or who he learned from, this is not good. His modifications are horrid.
Glad to know how Siu Lim Tao can be expressed in multiple styles and variations.

That is the worst performance of the Siu Lim Tao form I've ever seen. Absolutely horrible.
Its been modified by Grandmaster Wan Kam Leung who is the founder of Practical Wing Chun. Totally different from others

John Santiago He has incorporated Praying Mantis Kung Fu into his Wing Chun. That's why it looks so strange. It's also why he can do things other Wing Chun people can't.

Articient An - It's a little difficult to understand your stance from your comment. Are you saying that Wan Kam Leung's body posture has a negative impact on the effectiveness of his Wing Chun? Care to elaborate on your theory? What exactly about the differences of scientific and unscientific do Wing Chun practitioners have a problem distinguishing?
You should empty your cup a bit Sir. Maybe, visit Wan Kam Leung and ask him why he made the changes, instead of assuming it was because he did not understand. What if he understood completely and made changes accordingly.

I think he understood his sifu but he adapted his new system. wsl did not understood ip man then? wsl kung fu is also differ from ip mans. just like ip mans kung fu from chan wan shun. i dont see the problem. its evolution.
I just do not understand, this system of "wan kam leung, " He never understood Wong Shun Leung? his sifu. Or he thinks he knows better than Wong Shun Leung? It does not look like the system of Wong Shun Leung at all.

I know the comment is very old and you probably know by now but WKL told WSL of his wish to modify the WC forms and wanted permission to do so. WSL thought it was a great idea and out of respect for his Master WSL he did not change it while his Sifu was alive but waited patiently until WSL passed away.
