Our lift had no instructions. But it’s a fairly simple design and there are a couple of videos on RUclips that help. We had it put together in 3.5 hours. Not that difficult.
Im pretty disappointed that the RTD(race tools direct) lift i just received is in fact a tuxedo brand.....we'll see how it goes. (As far as the lift sticking on ive been thinking about some sort of safety that trips a breaker if it goes over a certain height. At least until i get my ceiling modified for more clearance.
Thank you for posting this video!! I have a 8000 pound lift and I have exactly the same issues with my runways. I have two jacks that I also bought in order to lift vehicles off of the runways. Well, over the course of just a few months, the runways were flexing to the point that if I place a lug nut on the runways, it rolls off the runway. At this point, I DO NOT feel safe utilizing the jacks while working on vehicles. I also contacted the company and they don't want to to fix the issue. I would caution anyone that is considering purchasing a Tuxedo Industries lift to buy from another company. Based on my research, the lifts are manufactured in China, which I believe has a lower standard than steel produced in the US. Which may explain the reason why the lifts are made so cheap.
Well, I had one ordered and cancelled it, fortunately I got my money back. At first I thought you had an 8000 pound lift, and maybe the fact you had a heavy van on it may have been part of the issue, but after I watched the rest of your video, I think I look for another option. Better off spending a little more, and being happier in the long run.
This is my biggeat fewr when buying a c channel 4 poat lift. Thise little thin squqres are supposed to be safe for 9000lbs? Looks like Tuxedo is off my list. I am looking for a squqre post lift now.
Even Mayflower Blacksmith lifts are built better than Tuxedeo IMO. I'm glad I saved you from a bad purchase. Good luck with your lift...whatever the brand.
Actually, I should have bought a Rotary instead. I wish I would have known about that company when I was in the market. I think I have all the bugs out now after spending all kinds of $ and hours on it. I had to park my E-250 on it for two months with steel on the floor to bend the runways back so I could weld, that cost me $350 alone for the welder, the runways with cross braces so they wont get out of shape again. What a colossal PITA. American made makes a huge difference in this type of purchase.
I’ve had a 7,000 lb model for 11 years, and although I too have noticed some bowing on the runway, leakage of the ram, no bracing on the underside of the runway, I have not experienced any problems with the ramp that you have experienced. Heaviest vehicle I have had on it weighs 4,600 lbs. I have permanently mounted the heavy ramps onto the lift too.
Nice. to the point, thorough review, a little long ...but very thorough. I will not buy one for sure...thanks for helping with those nagging, annoying little problems that add up to one big headache! Also appreciate you pointing out the safety issues !

I would highly recommend an Advantage lift!!! I think there square tubes are better legs and locking catches!!!

Thank you SO much! I was going to pick one up tomorrow! I think I’ll be looking at a different system. Great video, well explained.
You are quite welcome. If I can save just one person from the trouble that this lift has caused me, then my time was well spent.

Maybe they were built better 11 years ago?
Would love to see a pic of how you did that. Was thinking about doing that too.
‘Guns’, send me your email address and I will send you some pictures (don’t know how to add pictures to this thread).
